It's pretty funny, would love to see the game expanded.

carterjbx 2026-04-21 15:09

The visuals are so cute and the game is lots of fun! I wish it got more difficult more quickly, but I understand the balancing decision for a jam game.

yoko-san 2026-04-21 15:29

@carterjbx To finish, I unfortunately had to decide to leave out a few features that would have gradually increased the difficulty. It's also a bit too slow for me ;) Thanks for playing and rating!

mekuire 2026-04-22 08:17

It's a pretty fun game. Sound effects are really nice. The animals look cute. Well done.

nuelijarma 2026-04-22 08:24

It's very fun and all the animals are charming. Great job!

toppervideogames 2026-04-22 08:32

The meerkats are adorable, I liked how you call out their names to warn them. There are a good number of different animals to look out for, and even the predators have some different color schemes. I could even tell some animals based on their footsteps.

I played what seemed like a pretty long while, and the game didn't do that much to change up, or have an ending to reach. The need to cut features for the time limit is a very understandable one! Still good work with what is here.

yoko-san 2026-04-22 11:52

@mekuire thank you for playing :) @nuelijarma thank you for playing :)

@toppervideogames The plan was for the animals to appear faster and faster, eventually several at once. Unfortunately, I only managed to include a game over condition. Sorry about that!

illiteratelexicon 2026-04-22 21:47

Its fun!, I wasn't expecting the voice and got jump scared by "KEVIN" upon loading the game lol. Definitely could use more difficulty buts thats very understandable. Congrats on making a game!

pierre-marie 2026-04-23 12:19

The sound is great. The atmosphere is nice. As mentioned above, a bit more of a challenge, or a score that’s always visible, would be a nice touch! But we know how it is with Jam :D Well done!

fkjaha 2026-04-23 12:27

Cutest game so far xD If only there were some changes as you progress, the game would be the hidden gem of the jam

Steef, Snake!!!

itero-proto 2026-04-23 16:37

I didn't understand anything, but the voice made me laugh.

jerrywest 2026-04-23 16:40

It was a very interesting experience! The little animals were very cute. After playing for a while, I didn't feel any significant changes. If there really isn't much content, perhaps it would be better to end the game directly after a certain period of time?

caelestial 2026-04-24 10:52

Cute game :D RICHARD!!!! WOLF!! WOLF!!!

valentinwb 2026-04-24 12:21

"Kevin ! Hey Kevin ! Kevin !" The voice acting got me good not gonna lie 😂

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:38

@illiteratelexicon Thanks for playing! :) Sorry about the jump scare, that wasn't on purpose! :D

I'm currently working on a modified version of the game, but it wouldn't be fair to rate that one, since those improvements weren't made during the jam.

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:41

@pierre-marie Thanks for playing! :)

Yeah, I’m (unfortunately) aware that the game isn’t very challenging in its current state :-/ I didn’t get a chance to really test it until just before the deadline, so I couldn’t make any more optimizations without risking more game-breaking bugs

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:42

@fkjaha Aw, thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that! :D

Thanks for playing! :)

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:44

@itero-proto I'm sorry to hear that! What didn't you understand? I decided not to include in-game instructions, but I actually included everything important in the description.

Still, thanks for playing! :)

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:49

@jerrywest Thanks for playing! :)

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to add a higher difficulty level.

Next time, I'll try harder to finish the Gameloop earlier in the jam.

yoko-san 2026-04-25 10:50

@caelestial @valentinwb haha :D thanks for playing! :D

neshtyak 2026-04-25 12:27

Adorable game, I really liked the voice, it sounds so funny! Nice jam entry, well done!

yoko-san 2026-04-25 23:55

@neshtyak thanks a lot! :D

marks 2026-04-26 10:33

Loved the game and the polish! Already said before, but gets boring quite quickly because of how slow everything is. The voice is a fun addition, great job!

yoko-san 2026-04-26 15:24

@marks thanks for playing! :D

oddballdave 2026-04-29 13:33

Haha! Very funny game. I found it quite easy, not always a bad thing for a jam game, and gave up my duties in the end. There's a punishment for failing to alert for a predator but no punishment for 'crying wolf' when there wasn't one. Maybe a three strikes for false alarms could have help there. Either way I had a blast shouting at Alan and the gang. Good stuff :8ball:

yoko-san 2026-04-29 21:58

@oddballdave Thanks for playing and leaving comments! :)

Yes, unfortunately, the game is currently way too easy and monotonous. I didn't have enough time at the end to fix that without risking more (game-breaking) bugs.

The meerkats should react more slowly if you raise a false alarm before. Next time, you’ll have to call them more often before they respond.

I’ve implemented this in the current version using a simple random integer (Unfortunately, I realized after the jam that this feature is skipped due to a bug...).

thoth 2026-05-01 14:21

Oh your Meerkats are really cute () As someone who's also trying to make Meerkats, I really love the way you describe the predators and all the amazing sound effects, Overall, you've made a game that's perfect in sound effects and overall style :)

chybby 2026-05-03 11:59

This was cute and funny :) I liked how sometimes a non-predator would come out of the bushes. I was hearing a lot of constant rustling which made it hard to tell whether one of my meerkat friends was actually in danger.

suzysu 2026-05-08 12:25

Really cute and funny jam entry! The meerkats are adorable, and the voice acting made me laugh a lot. I also liked how the sound effects help you notice the animals coming.

It does feel a little easy and slow after a while, but the core idea is charming and I’d love to see it expanded with more difficulty or progression. Great work!
