Cool take on theme

evelyn-rudaleva 2025-10-06 21:13

Interesting gameplay, cool feedback!

arthur-iung 2025-10-06 21:30

I really liked the overall idea of capturing souls, but I found the purpose behind “collecting” a bit unclear, considering that was the theme of the LD. As a game, I thought it was interesting, though it lacked some special effects and a clearer indicator for when I no longer had souls to throw. It took me a few seconds to realize I needed to end the turn.

gold-daniel 2025-10-06 21:34

@arthur-iung Thanks for the feedback! We originally were also going to use souls for currency but a lack of time. As you progress through the levels you do "collect" cards and can build a deck but its not exactly gameplay focused.

teroflups 2025-10-06 21:53

simple game, but it's cool. stylish graphic, also good idea to collect a soul

aleksey-the-kid 2025-10-06 22:52

Liked synergies between some cards, good job considering gamejam restrictions :)

luderik 2025-10-06 23:42

I had a great time playing this game! It was really satisfying to figure out clever strategies using the games systems to overcome challenges. An impossible battle becomes a breeze with a good deck.

kagegona 2025-10-07 00:12

Nice work on the ambient side, this spooky vibe was well realised.

There is a little errorScreenshot 2025-10-07 033515.png

kamilah 2025-10-07 00:38

@ira-baciu Ah we forgot to remove that after publishing. Should be public now thanks for bringing it to our attention! :)

tardis2snej 2025-10-07 01:35

Nice game, I liked the art and the audio (maybe the main music could be a little longer to loop better)

takhomasac 2025-10-07 01:44

love a fun card game concept! nice work

raysplaceinspace 2025-10-07 02:19

Interesting take on the theme. I would have liked to see the tutorial and actions built into the game a little more. When it popped up saying "drag cards to enemies to use them" I immediately tried to actually do that and found it was just a static image. I also wondered if it could light up or grey out options which weren't available to me to help with learning. Like with understanding that when you run out of souls you can't use any more cards. I am not a regular card game player though so I think there were a lot of concepts for me to learn in a short amount of time and would be easier for someone more familiar with the genre. Great work putting it all together though!

zexurge 2025-10-07 02:27

cool little spire-like!

logicalinsanity 2025-10-07 02:36

I love me a deckbuilder. I played this for entirely too long! haha.

kamizenki 2025-10-07 03:09

Nice card game! I really love the art and gameplay. I think it would feel less overwhelming if the UI elements weren’t packed too tightly into the corners. The middle of the screen feels a bit empty, it might be more engaging if we could place our cards there to attack enemies or interact more directly idk. Overall, it’s a solid and enjoyable game, congrats!

coatline 2025-10-07 03:41

I'm quite impressed with the amount of content in this one! I did think that the sound for hitting was pretty annoying, and some of the animations took too long, but I can't get over how cool the deckbuilding element is! It's also a very difficult game, I just don't have the time to go through it all! Great job!

psevdonim 2025-10-07 10:21

Considering it was made for a game jam, it’s a pretty good card game with its own unique visual style. There’s quite a lot of content implemented — that deserves respect! The game’s interface is a bit hard to read and not very intuitive, with some important aspects not clearly highlighted, but still — great job!

jipark 2025-10-07 10:49

cool idea, art is appropriate

rise12600 2025-10-07 11:49

cool card game gave me the vibes of an old flash game from back in the day called MaganicWars

bumble 2025-10-07 11:55

I feel like deck building games are a really big undertaking and you actually delivered a pretty solid experience in so little time, amazing! Your mechanics also work very well with each other, it feels like one mistake can overwhelm the player fast with stacking odds against them! Very nice!

lrdjj 2025-10-07 12:00

A deckbuilder is a great idea for this theme! Felt like a fun take on the standard slay the spire style of combat – the freedom of being able to choose your "route" completing each battle and progressing through the levels is a nice touch. I think the only thing missing in my experience was clearer UI, as with so many numbers the important ones can get a little lost, mainly soul and how much block each enemy has (it was very easy to not notice when an enemy starts the combat with some block). Still, great job – I'd like to come back to this one and play through the rest of the game!

happysealgames 2025-10-07 12:11

You managed to create a game with real depth in such a short time! I really loved the theme, and the gameplay felt nicely balanced. As someone who enjoys card games, it completely drew me in and kept me playing. Congrats!

feraligatr 2025-10-07 12:12

A deckbuilding game against the gods (and the odds, somewhat). I've been playing all gods to at least level 3, at that point the difficulty massively increases, which I think is the weakest point. At some point you are getting overwhelmed by the amount of enemies and the buffs they give to each other. I do think that some stages are doable, yet I didn't invest too much time to find out how far one could actually get.

Nonetheless the amount of time it offers is very nice, it does not feel repititve and one actually wants to play it more to find out. The graphics are neat and consistent. The music is chill and calm, and feels cosmic.

olddog 2025-10-07 14:26

The scale of this game is incredible — there are so many types of cards, it’s hard to believe this was made in just three days. The variety of cards is impressive, and the gameplay is highly engaging. The ability to customize your own deck is a stroke of genius. The pacing is a bit slow, but that’s a minor issue. Overall, it’s a super promising project with tons of potential.

pancu 2025-10-07 15:40

the amount of cards is impressive given the limited time, i'm sure there are very good strategies around them, the art is nice and the game itself isn't too hard to comprehend, overall this is probably the best game i've played in this event so far! (the ldjam website wouldn't let me play it for some reason, so i had to use itch.io)

anderson-job-loeffler 2025-10-07 22:54

Really cool entry! I wish I had more time to dive into each card and explore all the synergies. Loved the theme and the overall atmosphere — great work, and keep it up!

bluedingo 2025-10-08 04:02

very impressive, y'all packed a lot into this game and I love it. I do wish the cards were more spread a part so it was easier to tell which was which, but I guess the fact you can have a lot of cards at once prolly made it hard to keep them a part. Nice overall

greenpig 2025-10-08 13:49

Very nice game, there are no complicated controls or anything, reminds me of Heartstone. I'd love to see a nicer UI for the enemies, like healthbar and stuff. Good Job!

phoenix-fireflower 2025-10-08 20:08

That's a lot of content and depth you've managed to crank out in just three days, I'm impressed! My one critique is that the sound of the card attacking gets annoying after a while, plus it plays even when the card does not deal damage.

cisco 2025-10-08 21:01

Wow so much done for the jam. I love it! Thanks for the game.

ciphereo 2025-10-09 06:24

A really cool game. I like art. Thanks for the game!

alexandra-suprunovskaya 2025-10-10 18:36

Cool game! Though on level 3 I get killed right on the first turn 😅 If you tweak the balance a bit, it’ll be great. Giving the game a thumbs up! 👍

local-minimum 2025-10-11 10:09

I played quite a while before I realized I needed to customize the deck and only did notice it right as I was about to quit. And that made a whole lot of difference. I still think it could do with some balancing, but it went from being quite tedious to being fun. So I think forcing the player into deck customization after gaining cards could have been better than having it as a button.

But I'm also quite sure that even when I understood customization of the deck, that some of my reward cards were never available. Don't know if that was a bug or not.

Otherwise the game did play really well. There were some oddities that took some getting used to, like attacking an enemy with a card that had no attack stats just to activate it. And maybe the end round should have happened automatically at zero souls and no 0-cost cards or something like that. Or at least draw attention to the button.

Overall a very nice entry!

I went in to play for 5 minutes and ended up staying for over an hour. It's a very interesting card game, even though I'm not usually a fan of these types of games. I didn't finish it; I can't figure out a strategy for Anubis. I have a feeling I'll be back later to play some more :) Progress.jpg
