You guys seem to have a problem with all the links.
@heretic Hi, thanks for cheking out our game! We hadn't published the itch page yet. Now it's published.
@clema Yeah, it's working now, and that's very cool! I like the concept and the spirit of games from the golden age of flash games.
Good gameplay, gg
A ton of fun!! Loved this game so much and would love to see things like special hive spots that heal each turn or that increase the damage of the bee in them.
Well done!!
My favourite thing about this game is actually the sound effects, makes it feel very satisfying to play. Great job!
nice core loop
Fun defense game! Solid gameplay and nice use of the honeycomb shape. The art and music work well. Didn't have any trouble understanding how to play. Great job adding lots of upgrades. With short timeframes like this, I know how often upgrades get left on the cutting room floor.
great gameplay! I played a lot. super fun well done! The art, replay ability and the sound are especially so good
This game is really juicy and the art is cute! I just wish that the levels could have been harder and that the spider could have more attacks.
Very good job, i love the art and its a very fun basic loop
Very fun as is! I like the interesting strategy between the temptation to huddle vs the advantage of being spread apart. It's a very clever use of the theme.
Only issue to me is that it's balanced to be too easy on the player. I played at least 5-6 times without any feeling of it getting difficult.
This is awesome. Like other folks have said, I'd like to see more upgrades, or some sort of reward for finishing with a lot of honey.
This is a really cool structure for a roguelike you have on your hands here!
Nice work! it was a little repetitive but overall its a very fun game, and the bees are very cute!
Great entry. I'll second the comment about the gameplay being intuitive. After watching the first turn get resolved, it all made sense to me. I like the simple strategy of prioritizing honey production and damage output while still trying to keep my bees from becoming too huddled together.
Were y'all inspired by anything in particular when you came up with the idea? This seems like a very nice scope and idea for a jam game. Well done!
Great strategy game! The art is amazing and really brings the bee characters to life. The artist did a fantastic job making each bee look unique. The game balance is well thought out, with different bee types working well together. It's cool how ninja bees become super strong when boosted by commander bees. At first, I didn't realize bees could be placed on non-red spaces, but figuring that out was part of the fun. Seeing the bees team up to take down the spider was exciting. Overall, this game is a lot of fun to play and looks great too.
I love your art style too! This is awfully clever and well done!
This is an extremely simple and very fun game! I was hooked once I figured out the mechanics (I thought for some reason that red square was where you could place your units, which in hindsight that didn't make sense). Comboing your bees together to make honey at the right time or getting the most hits out there is satisfying, and when all of your bees attack in harmony it is some of the cutest animation ever. I really like this entry, great job!
Great music and sound effects! Very cute bee designs, congrats!
Great music and art! Super fun to play^^ Would love to see more different bosses although I understand the time is limited ^^ Very enjoyable hearing the sound effects haha Overall a great job!!!
I'm excited to see a strategy-oriented Game Jam entry! I think this is a prototype with a lot of potential. Even in its current version, it already has a very fun positive feedback loop.
I’m sure, given more time, more units and enemies could be added. You could even allow players to combine different bees into a single block and rotate the bee blocks by some means.
I’m a bit unclear about the difference between the yellow and white tiles. The red tiles are the enemy’s attacks, which makes sense, but at first, I thought bees could only be placed on yellow tiles. Then I realized later that bees can also be placed on white tiles. Could you explain the difference between them?
I feel like this could even be expanded into a more complex mechanic. For example, the player’s hive could start smaller, and they would need to unlock and buy more hive tiles to gain more spaces to place bees. You could also design some bees to have the ability to expand the hive by one tile when placed (kind of like the cultural bomb in the Civilization series!).
Honestly, I think this is the Game Jam entry with the most potential and the greatest room for expansion. I’m really looking forward to your future updates.
@serenewind Hi, thank you so much for playing the game and the detailed review! Those are great suggestions to take the project further. There is no difference between the yellow and white tiles, it was just an aesthetic thing for a little more variety. Sorry for the confusion. The difference in color could have been made less obvious.
A delightful twist on the auto chess conceit. The UI and interactions work excellently and the graphical flourishes such as the expressions on the spider go a long way. Some tuning on the difficulty ramp up and this could really shine.
Loved so much about this game! The art style was super clean, and I thought the concept was very creative. I liked trying out the different bees and coming up with fun strategies. Very nice work :)
Nice game! I love the bees inside so much.
