I love weird atmospheric stuff, genre shifts, and unexpected use of the medium, so I thought it was really cool when the visual novel launched another window for a related platforming minigame.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD55 → Urgent Meeting

I liked the story and the humor. I overall liked the gameplay, but the platforming part was a bit too difficult for me. I overall liked the game. Well done.
I am on Mac so I could not play your game. I wish you luck.
@mertol Mac version is now up and should be working, tested it on my old macbook.
Uploaded Linux version but it is untested. If anyone tries it out let me know if it works
Linux build works
Would be great if you have added some reset button at the end, its not really convenient to restart game after each run. (Maybe there is one but i haven't found it) And also path to spirit of charm is quite too long? like just straight line with not much you can do, i think it wont hurt if it was shorter.
The idea of opening another window to gain access to dialogue decisions is really cool 10 minimal wages out of 10
@linus-lindberg it says: "“Urgent Meeting.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software."
Don't worry there are lots of PC users, they can play and rate your game.
Any chance you could get a build on Itch?
@myse Unfortunately the game uses some gimmicks that makes a Web build impossible (two game windows at the same time) as well as some lighting/shader effects that might not work.
The character art is so cute and goofy and I love it. Great compo entry!
The art, atmosphere, and music are all top notch and I love the platformer opening in another window. That was a huge surprise.
I ended up just having to pick whichever spirit I went to first each time, though, so I didn't really feel like I had much agency as a player in the visual novel portion, but the idea overall was really impressive and it's very polished.
I was cracking up the whole time, the chaos answers are so great. The mood and atmosphere are top notch in the spirit realm. I never did find my way to not get fired. I guess I stray to much into the chaos.
Your game's style is truly unique; it's hard to believe this astonishing creation was made in just 48 hours. Seriously, buddy, do you have only one brain? I mean, aren't you one of those geniuses with a bunch of brains or maybe cyborg-enhanced? It's really incredible.
And I absolutely love your puzzle design—the difficulty is spot-on, challenging without being trapping. Your skills are the epitome of mastery, and it's genuinely enviable. Pal, you deserve high praise; I thoroughly enjoy your game and am eager to learn some valuable lessons from you.
I GOT FIRED!? How could this happen? Loved the vocalizations of the characters, and also the dialogue. Great job!
Didn't expect to see a sudden vibe change from VN to first person platformer. Also didn't expect to see a new window opened with a completely different gameplay in it. And I really liked it! Platformer controller could be less floaty, to be fair, and I'd say that having to hold RMB to look around is a bit strange decision, but those are nitpicks, other than that this is a very solid entry. Great job!
this was a very pleasant and unique ambiance! and even more for a compo game, great job! i got this ending on my first run, but it makes me want to try other dialogues!

I went through all the dialogue trees, I wonder if there's a way to get 12/12?
Anyway, I loved the art, music, story, atmosphere, everything. The spirit world was totally surreal, definitely the coolest environment I've seen this jam (honestly cooler than most games generally).
I used the Windows version on Linux (ran fine in Wine). The volume was too loud at the start, I had to pull off my headphones. And there was a piece of dialogue that was cut part way off. But otherwise didn't run into any issues.
love this game mood so much, wish to see more content of this game
Excellent use of multiple windows, games don't do this effect enough for me. Great atmosphere I really felt like my spirit leaving my body in that meeting.
Super impressed you managed to pull off the multiple windows thing, it really added to the experience! The art style is also fantastic, great work on this one.
Very charming game. I loved the humor and overall vibe, and the graphical effects were great. In particular, I really liked the lighting on the boss, along with the post processing effect. The "spirit realm" thing was an interesting idea, but I felt the gameplay there didn't quite fit cohesively with the main part of the game.
I loved this game. While really simple it was a really polished experience. Loved the music and sound effects to it really worked with game great work!
Cool idea to combine the world of dialogue and action. Very interesting mechanics.
This is great; the platforming was just challenging enough to be entertaining, but easy enough that I was willing to play again until I got all 4 endings. The sound design was also fairly good. I do wish player horizontal movement were momentum-based rather than fixed-velocity, since fixed-velocity makes the controls feel rather stiff and unnatural.
Some spelling errors: - "To be honest I invited you here today to make a *decision on whether to fire you or not" - "I trust you'll make the *decision that's best for the company" - "left click on a spirit when close to summon *its essence"
Also, to go on a bit of a tangent, you mentioned: > the game uses some gimmicks that makes a Web build impossible
Godot may not support it, but opening multiple windows that can talk to each other is actually a well-supported (if well-hated) feature of the web. Most browsers require a user-engagement gesture of some sort before opening the window, but your "enter the spirit realm" button would probably count. I'd be curious if any game engine would consider adding support for something like that.
Managed to get the perfect ending in a couple of runs!

This is one of the coolest game I've played so far in this jam, I love the visual effects and atmosphere of the game, as well as the audio (especially the spirit realm music). The second window gimmick is just that, a gimmick that doesn't actually do much in terms of gameplay BUT it helps create that "dissociation" feeling and maintains an illusion of urgency just by having the conversation window still open, it's a great idea in my opinion.
A couple of complaints : there are a couple of typos and the second window sometimes stuttered for a few frames on my PC. I get why you didn't go for a web build, it just wouldn't feel have felt right.
Anyway, that was a great entry and congrats on doing the compo!
