Cute survivors game - I liked it! The typing names confused me at first, but it seems like it just uses them as a seed to pick a random weapon. I'd like to have seen my score, plus some ways to regain HP. Nice work :).
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD55 → Arise, QWERT!

I love this concept! There's so much potential in this and really adds a level of creativity to the "name your new friend" idea like in Pokemon, except here it's demonic and a high intensity survival game! Love the art and designs of all the demons.
Based on what you have so far, it's in the early stages and I felt like the demon summoning happened too often, interrupting the flow of battle and also not really getting a chance to get a good feel for the new spell I just got (felt like only about 20 seconds or so to experience it before I had to summon a new demon).
Could you keep adding the spells on top of each other like in Vampire Survivors where you add new weapons and upgrade them?
I think it would have been really cool if you actually summoned them by your side, and have them follow you around in battle, like familiars in Brain lord. ref | youtube.com/watch?v=kfI6VxdRE5A | I could see in an extended playthrough you might get attached to ZZZZZ and ASDFF so you really wanna keep playing and not let them get hurt.
Very cool game! Very excited to see where this could expand!
Cool little game! Would be cool if you could see the demons you summon. The style and theming were really cool and I would love to see something like this with more work. Keep it up :)
This is a really cool game, great idea. Id love to see you continue to develop it :)
I'd love to see this built out further! Super fun, well done
Really really unique concept, I dont know if i was unlucky but i would have loved to see even more different patterns. Lots of ways you could take this further!!
I liked the idea of a typing game! Would love to see more combinations, but great for a jam!
So vampire survivors with letting your cat dance on the keyboard? Amazing! :D
That was really cool, it looks like it keeps track of the last couple of demons you summoned, and if you summoned one recently it gets weaker. So you need to try combinations until you build out a good list of strong demons that you can cycle through to keep them all at max strength. That had a fun side effect of trying to find combination that were easy to remember like QWERT, ASDFF (Asdufuf), and UIOPY (Eeyopi). I had a lot of fun with this one, great job!
A unique take on the survivor style game! I had fun zipping around and seeing what weapons I could get. It's always difficult in a game jam time frame but it would have been interesting to refine the theme a bit more, for instance linking the new demons to pickups, and/or maybe unlocking new demons rather than randomly typing combinations.
At first I just typed ARISE over and over again without understanding :D But I got the hang of it, ASDFA worked out great for me :) Repeat it a few times hehe. Maybe a limitation would be useful
I also like the idea of making the summons have additive combination effects instead of replacing. Say if one summon gives you fire projectiles and another makes them spread, and you build onto that.
Anyway great job, nice survivor take on a weekend! Cute art, love the demon summons.
fun concept, I think it would be interesting to see it expanded
Entering a name to summon a demon is an interesting concept, and I'm looking forward to the finished product of this demo. But I don’t know if it’s a problem with my operation. I can’t seem to delete the wrong letters input, which occasionally interrupts my rhythm.
That was a pretty cool survivors-like! It felt a little easy once I found out a good summon, so maybe a way to weaken or discourage spamming one demon would help with variety?
Interesting take on summoning to change attack behavior. Not sure about the heuristic used on the letters but it was amusing to type random things and see what happens. The presentation was cool too. Good work!
I really like the idea! It was a bit too hectic to figure out the rules easily, which is great. Made it fun to just experiment and slowly learn the effects of certain letters - although I didn't get very far. There is an interesting game here, I think - customizing your attack according to the situation. Probably would need something to force you to switch it up. Great entry, fun graphics too!
There is a good deal of potential here, but currently, sadly, it gets old pretty fast. I played it for some time and I couldn't figure out what is correlation between letters and powers, even if there is any there is no reason not to rotate between AAAAA or BBBB that offer good power, rate and hit radius.
I tried to think of demon names and type them, but most I could think of weren't 5 letters long, so I went on Wiki on Demon Names page and tried to type some, hoping for some good combos, and I don't know if that's coincidence, but some demon names had a different image, but in most cases weren't as good as AAAAA, so on that front I'm pretty disappointed.
But as I mentioned, the base for something cool is there. I keep my fingers crossed for an updated version :fingers_crossed:
I love the demon sprites and the "ARISE" screen (the smoke effect looks really good). I think there's a bunch of ways you could take this if you wanted to add to it later, like adding unlockable upgrades or either something to attach the player to a particular summon, or something to prevent players spamming the good summons.
