A fun city builder! The aesthetic side is perfect, I love the 1-bit graphics. The music also fits really well, it reminded me of several older games like Constructor - it has this nice "urban" feeling to it.
The need to hold a number key to construct a building felt rather weird, perhaps it would be better to simply have it as a toggle? It felt a bit clunky, but didn't harm playability at all.
I think I've reached a pretty stable city, as I'm almost 50 months in and it's still growing nicely without the need for more buildings. Got the population of over 100 happy people with room for many more: motm_2.png At this point game became a bit laggy. When trying to place a new building or inspect an existing one it lagged for a short moment, but at the end of every month it freezes for about 5 seconds.
Overall it's an impressive amount of work for a short jam game. Well done!
Was pretty fun, but difficult to decipher how the stats are calculated Well done!

Loved the art style the overall idea. Such a good game in so little time. Really nice work. My only two issues are a broken link to the manual and a slightly better user interface for placing objects (pure mouse maybe). Really great work. If you take this further please reach out.
Very fun to play! I really love the graphics and music (The music is still running in a background tab for me hehe)
I did find it a bit confusing at first though. I would have preferred to have the stats on the main screen, or to at least have a tutorial before.
All in all well done! :)
Super chill game. Love the artstyle and music, it fits very well.
It was sticky. Maybe I’m a fool, but I couldn’t understand what the building did before I bought it, but overall I somehow figured it out. Nice game. I really liked the graphics, it’s a pity it can’t be made full screen

Such an outstanding looking and sounding game (5/5 in both categories) - and I can't figure out how to play it even after 5th retry :( Can't find the combination of buildings that produces money, each time it's either zero or minus something...
@jozgames Did it start at all?

@roboimuri start button don't work... https://prnt.sc/HPtJ_JobjHqa
@jozgames Try zooming out and in. That should fix the alignment and cursor. No idea what causes that glitch 😕

Funcionou agora!
Love the style and including a classic manual as a downloadable pdf is a great touch. Overall I like how this plays into the theme and had fun playing. Nice work!
Great looking game! The audio and gameplay are great too! I dig the manual download as well!

Interesting city building game. It took me a while to notice I couldn't build water pumps at high elevations, but it made sense. I'm guessing the goal is to see how much money you can make with as few buildings as possible.

I really wanted to try this but the game won't run in Firefox on Windows 10 :(

Nice entry, but very difficult to earn money at first hahaha! Good job!
Unique experience! Took a while to figure out how things worked... but then I discovered you guys created a manual!!!! Who does that!!??? Brilliant developers, that's who!
I like management game, so I was happy to play it ! I took a long time to understand, first, the game, and then, how to get the manual. If someone look for it, it's in the Download section of the Itch.io page (I looked in the comments but it seemed logical for everyone, I was expecting a link or something like that).
It's nice you spend time to make a good manual like when I was young ^^. Finding the manual unlocked me to start earning money in the game. I loved the Return of the Obra Dinn so I know 1-bit graphics can be nice, and you did a good job with that !
It would have been nice with an ending, a money threshold for example. The mechanics are simple (once you found the manual) and good. Congratulation for your entry !

The visual style is very nice! Love the idea of having the manual in pdf, but for some reason I can't download it :c. I figured out some of the game mechanics, but not all of them. What works great is the effect of different buildings on stats, the fact that buildings are different shapes and limited space of course! Would like to see the value of buildings on UI.

Great game, the black & white art is nice, the music goes well with the game. It started to lag a bit when you expend. I know it's a jam game & it's already great to build what you've done, but there's no goal in the game appart from "dont go bankrupt". Maybe something like "get x population" ?
Great entry!
Very fun and nice retro feel. Would like to echo a couple of previous comments for some small bugs: - at first had trouble downloading the manual, page blocked (FF Win 11) - but after reloading or pressing 'try again' it worked fine - after getting to a population size of about 50 (or about 10-15 buildings) game started slowing down immensely - freezing for 5-10 seconds after every building placement and at the end of every month - and it only got worse from there to the point of being unplayable; Firefox started complaining that it was slowing my browser down at that point
Honestly was quite sad I couldn't expand my city as far as it could go with the water constraints, but I got pretty far so it's all right.

~~Also, to be very pedantic, your water tanks should be labelled HOH, not HHO~~ :stuck_out_tongue:
Pretty fun little city builder. I was surprised at the amount of little stats and building interactions, nice job!
Really cool idea and nice aesthetic. I would like to be able to speed up the simulation to get more money faster, and the price of each building should be highlighted in game.
