I really got hooked to the core game loop. I was able to make it to 1039 points with autofire and I think 6 fire rate upgrades. At first I thought it was a bug that such insane numbers of enemies spawn at the edge of the map but once I grinded enough upgrades I was able to push closer to the edge and complete those hard delivery routes. I really liked the sense of progression gained from getting closer to the world edge.
I fully agree with @pianoman373? nice progression, good music, hit to theme. I catch bug on windows build. Window split on two monitors not correct 3kakW8r-Lss.jpg
Really fun game, loved the color palette !
The game is really juicy!
I like strange ideas, and a pigeon with a machine gun, I think it's wonderful. Also, carrier piDgeon is some inteded pun or is it just a mistake? :D
I understand that you're sticking to a certain palette, but perhaps the enemies could be made to contrast with the buildings. Enemies are now merging with buildings, so I try to avoid them so that no one suddenly approaches.
A very nice compact game loop that is a pleasure to play.
I don't know what else to say, this is the first game where I really had fun and gave some 5 stars :D
Final score: 1,249 points! That got frantic at the end! Really liked all the little bits of juice, like the camera shaking and following the mouse. The music was a highlight, too.
Thanks for all the kind words, I'm glad you guys are having some fun!
@surweaver I'm not a native english speaker and "pidgeon" is the spelling I learned at school. It's good to know that there's an updated spelling! Thanks for pointing out the contrast issue, graphics are definitely something I want to improve.
@kykypy3o8 That's weird! Is the window fullscreen by default? I thought I set it to windowed mode.

@haselkern it's definitely has a fullscreen mode by default, I had it too. Also, strangely, I saw my desktop lower panel and the game below it. I'm saying just in case
Upgrades system was clear as the progression and really was able to give player a short time goal. Combination of small quests and classic top down worked well. Camera movement however was too agressive at the attemp to follow the mouse.

Amazing game! I love the style and the music.
The game got quite crazy at the end, so much fun. I managed 1.410 points! The game feels well polished. Good job

Super nice & juicy! The screen clipped out, so I believe I was supposed to see further? I like shooting & upgrades so I enjoyed this :D Well done!

Great idea, great fun.
Fun game! I didn't really see much of a point in going for any of the easier missions once the hard ones were unlocked. Maybe some of the risk-reward elements weren't clear enough? I don't know, but I had fun regardless :)

@kykypy3o8 I also had the issue with dual monitors on Windows where it wrapped across both screens. If you hover over the icon in the start bar, then right click the preview screen and choose maximize it should fix the issue for the current build.
@haselkern Looks like the reason this is occurring is due to a probably accidental override on the window height and width. If you go into your project settings and remove this override it should fix it: 2023-05-04 13_15_28-game.tscn - Cassie The Delivery Pidgeon - Godot Engine.png
The game was really solid. Graphics had a good color scheme and seemed very cohesive. The music and SFX were very in line with the type of game it was. I really enjoyed the bullets exploding and the screen shake. My only complaint would probably be that the camera movement wasn't very smooth. It took some getting used to. That is a really minor quibble though and this is definitely in the top 5 best jam games I've played so far. Thanks for making it and have fun out there!

oof geniounly one of the best games I've played so far, the core loop is so addictive and the screenshake/particles/sfx enforce the feedback so darn well, I really love this entry, did you make the music yourself? It's so impressive, congrats in making such a good game in a short time!

What the fudge was that madness, that was chaotic! This was really well done!
I do wish there was less screen shaking, its difficult to see what's happening when hundreds of enemies are spawning on screen
Loved the color palette, the music was nice. I like the camera movement and the vabritation in the context of this small experience, but it is a bit straining on the eyes. Simple mechanics, but quite polished and functional. Quite addictive! Good Job.
Thanks everyone <3
@flashviper Balancing could be improved, that is true. Easy missions might be interesting when you're just a few $ short of the next upgrade?
@phlip45 Aha, I knew I would forget to reset that setting. Thanks for figuring that out, I uploaded a fixed version for future players.
@0x-void-x0 Yes, I made the music by mixing a bunch of samples and EQ-ing them a bit.
the game definitely feels nice to play, i feel like with more variety added it could be a good vampire survivors-like with a unique delivery mechanic. good job!

Got to 1147 points. very fun -- ran out of money for the next bullet upgrade and died to the rapid spawn rate on the edge of the town, so I guess I got outscaled. pretty art, good mechanics, matches the theme. a great extension on top of the vampire survivors/20 minutes until dawn formula. well done!
Very simple but a lot of fun! I liked the progression and I like the effects on killing monsters, very satisfying!
