Oh, nice pseudo-3D! Also interesting 'task' system.

I got super lost at the 3rd level, but at least I levitated :stuck_out_tongue:
Very cool game! I love that 3D effect, the whole game reminded me a lot of a game on the Atari 800XL. Got a bit lost and gave up on the 5th day but it still was a great experience :)
@darchankaen, @devez, @vectrex28 Thank you for your comments! ❤️ I used to be proud owner of Czechoslovak clone of ZX Spectrum. Atari 800XL would be very nice addition to my collection of retro computers. ;-). There seems to be something very magical about 8-bit era... 🕹️
Ahhh, you hit me right in the Dungeon Master feels! Love it!
I always love raycasting-esque games like this, so first of all: Well done! Level 4 took me a long time to find the secret door, but after that it wasn't too bad. The moving floor tiles and switches were a clever addition and the letter/mailbox system essentially replaced your usual door/key system. This was actually very close to my first idea for this LD, so very exciting to see it being executed!
It was fun once I understood that I’m always looking forward and not rotation, but making a step to the side. Maybe some light movement animation would help understanding that. Level 3 was trickyyyyy, no spoilers! Great job
Cool retro gameplay!
This is a pretty cool throwback to the old first person RPGs. I found it pretty easy. It always felt like I was going to get lost, but the levels are pretty small, so I never did. I think the biggest thing missing from this game is some sort of peril, like monsters or traps. Another feature that would be really neat is a map that fills in automatically as you explore, but that would be pretty complex.
I also want to add that it's insane that you did this in what looks like straight Javascript. Almost makes me want to go in there and make my own levels.
A pretty fun little maze game. I like the games atmosphere and the chosen music. A bit confusing where I am and where I am are going. But else a okay little jam game.
Very nice. Got a bit lost on the last level but eventually made it to the end.
Presumably it was supposed to render in the whole window right, not just in the top left corner: Screenshot 2023-05-03 224807.png
@freakyzelga Thank you. Yes, some movement animation would be nice. Or at least compass.
@kentin-bk Thank you!
@quinn-patrick Thanks! Yes, monsters, that would be nice. ;-) Not enought time... I was planning to make automapping but did not managed to do it at the end.
@jk5000 Thank you! ;-)
@tom-wadley Thank you for the comment. I was planning to have automapping on the right but I run out of time. ;-) In last hour I was thinking about increasing size of maze view but there are some tweaks (in projection) which are done for that exact size of maze view. So, I decided to not risk breaking it and kept maze view as it is.
Awesome! I like how you were able to add a new dimension to a concept that would otherwise be too simple by adding key and lock mechanics in a variety of ways. I loved the puzzle and was able to finish the game.
Thanks for this game.
I do love the early FPS aesthetic but it may have contributed to how easy it was to lose my bearings.
Great stuff! This brought out some ancient 3D maze navigation skills from when I played Phantasy Star as a kid. I also thought the use of emojis was clever.
Interesting throwback, very moody!
Nostalgical with dungeon crawler, cool mood and music. Easy to get lost haha :P
I love the old dungeon crawler walking mechanic, you implemented it very clean! Very nice entry, congrats to you.
It reminds me a lot of Catacomb 3-D! But with an originality when it comes to sending messages! I liked the music you have selected because it fits very well with your graphics and game design. Great game!
Took me back a couple of decades but in a good way :) It's nice to see an old style being kept alive and it made me feel like I was playing a horror game or something.
