I don't undesrstand the objective. You should also put some more lighting, I find it difficult to see things.
The idea is good, and with some polishing the game can be very good, cheer up!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → Bloody Boxes

This game felt very satisfying to pick up and throw the boxes around. was confused by the score and the boxes. but you managed to fill me in on the stream about the game. this could be a fun game with the boxes and throwing them if you decide to keep going with it.
please upload a web build!
I like the game! I think the lighting helps convey the mood.
The objective could be better described.
I picked boxes, threw them around - that felt satisfying. I managed to stack non-stackable boxes and they broke, which forced me to sleep. It counted score in some way, although I didn't understand what was the goal (stack boxes as much as possible without breaking them? Or?)
Anyways, the mood is nice. Interactable lightning adds into it.
No exit button :(
Kind of creepy. Hello? They pop up everywhere and need Hello? Something from me... Did I order Hello? those crates or are they just coming to visit? Hello?
Would love just tiny bit more ambience light around though. Kept hitting walls and never seen appartment illumination like that even for night-lights!
It just score, I gather? And at some point we can get 3-themed boxes too? Never actually reached that - sometimes combos just wreak me. Maybe more than one 'bad' box to make you lose would do the trick so it would make everything a little bit longer? One unlucky combo is all it takes and you actually never manage to run out of space so to speak - it always just combo on one box for me :( Or maybe make it longer until double combo appears, so space actually would mater.
Definatelly needs some gamey element about postioning those boxes (that matters) to feel really awesome.
@xema4789 @zgragselus @batisdark yea the objective isn't very clear at all sorry. I ended up switching directions twice due to the first 2 ways not working very well as mechanics. So the "keep going until you lose" is what I settled with right near the end sadly lol. Thanks for giving it a play!
@cheesepencil I dont think im able to package as a web build with unreal sadly. I think it was removed for version 5+ sorry!
@obe-dot thanks, it was supposed to be a horror game but i had to switch gears on the theme and mechanics near the end lol
Good box type game! I didn't read the notes at first, but I was able to get up to 15 boxes just from guessing what the pictures meant. I did get pretty close to what the notes explained, though keeping vision is pretty tricky.
Atmosphere is ripe for some scary tension, though really I am glad there was nothing actually scary here. Turning on the lights was neat, small reward for looking around. To encourage a higher score some more feedback would be nice, though not losing is a good indicator that you can keep going.
Good work!
good game i like this game is so mysterious
Pretty mysterious at the beginning but once you get the notes, you start creating your perfect storage strategy. Very smart and the sounds coming from the boxes are so disturbing,it sets a very strange mood... I like it :)
Fun and simple game! I like it!
Interacting with the boxes feels good, but I have absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do. It was also very dark and seeing what's what was very difficult. The box sounds were funny though.
it's okay, I didn't quite understand what was happening even though I played for a while. I found that the best strategy for the "no floor" boxes was to just throw them out the door into the infinite abyss.
it did get quite boring after a while but I found the atmosphere was done pretty well and the sound the boxes make is pretty funny.
pretty solid game I guess
I like the atmosphere and the lighting! Box physics are fun, though I wasn't sure on what I had to do exactly.
187, 19 boxes. Fun figuring out how to stack/not stack things to meet the requirements.
Creepy vibe, wasn't really sure what to do past stacking though. Tight physics and good lights. Had to alt-f4 to exit. Nice submission!
I like the concept of this, it's an interesting puzzle game. I think I need a few more hints to figure it out though, the labels on the boxes weren't enough for my small brain. Maybe an additional hint when you make a mistake? Don't want to make it too obvious though..
Got some ~80 points, but I was having some problems with the mouse movements (maybe it was the sandbox thingy I was using). While someone else commented that they wanted more hints, I was wondering the exactly opposite - if it would be more fun to have to discover the meanings on your own. I guess in the end having those notes are a nice middle ground :)
It's a cool idea that could be expanded upon with more kinds of "box conditions". Snappier rotation controls would definitely go a long way in terms of enjoyment. I also found myself fixating on "maintain vision" boxes. While it's a fun horror element, I could probably focus better on playing with other boxes if it wasn't for those.
It took a while to know what was going on even after reading the instructions. Interesting concept after I got the hang of it. Good submission!
The boxes look really cool
