I fear I will never avenge my wife, these dang polygon dogs either multiply too quickly or stop spawning all together before i'm able to retrieve enough of their souls. If the trap had a tiny bit more cooldown from when it is placed to when it is functional, that would help a lot with the issue of me constatly trapping myself all the time. There also seems to be some sort of (i assume) bug that's making a lot of the game obects very very bright. I wish the game had a little more direction at first, you start facing a narrow path that is actually an invisible wall, and the rest of the level is actually behind you. I also cant seem to change my control scheme at the start menu? Not sure how it's navigated.
I think with a little more polish and direction the game could improve greatly, I really like the idea here.
I found the gameplay funny so I restarted several times. I didn't understand why some time there are really a lot of fox, sometimes none for a long time... The music is appropriate, and the design of character very cuty ! I the menu too.
Love the art and music here! Gameplay was fun once I got the hang of it, I feel this could turn into something larger with added depth and polished. Great work!
@pinapl Thank you for the feedback! You were right! The LudumDare build had a light baking issue and the traps were still triggered by the player. I thought I had updated the LudumDare build with that fixed but it was the Itch.IO build does not have those issues. I corrected that issue here with the V1.1 build. Thanks for playing!
@meinewn Thank you for the feedback! I have not had this spawning issues, but seems to happen to everyone else (including my wife). I'll have to look into whether maybe the issue is multithread/coroutine related.
@nick-saulner Thank you for your feedback/playing!
LOL that was great. Super fun. I had to connect a controller because I ran into the Left Shift issue but I'm glad I did cause the controller experience is really nice.
Ending sequence brought me joy.
odd game well made and good idea. had the left shift issue.. other than that good entry
Short little experience with an interesting loop! The graphics were nice although there we some weird texture glitches. Controls were a bit unclear but I got the hang of it after a bit. Good stuff!
A nice game with a decent game loop. The graphics were a bit glitching for me. A progression bar would've been nice to show the player how far they are into filling all the jars.
Overall: A really good entry.
The art is gorgeous!
I have no idea how you did all that, lol. I'm definitely jelly. Good job!
@stephenwhoskins I didn't do the art! I only made the chicken circle, bear trap/animations.
Fair enough... But I'm still jelly, lol. I've never put together a game like this. =)
@stephenwhoskins Thank you! You're game actually impressed me more. I was a big fan of Dejavu on the NES when I was a kid, and have considered making something inspired by it for years.
Funny setup and great audio. Feathers got snagged going up the side of the ramp and was eaten alive by coyotes.
Graphics could improve a little as some areas are flickering. So satisfying to place traps but when you pick it up there could be a effect for the souls you collect. One last thing, really cute player character great design
At first I misunderstood the rules and keys, but once understood the game is cool ! The end is fun, and the graphics is cute. Good job !
I love these little animals. Well done. Overall nice graphics!
@jelliott Thank you! But did you have fun being eaten alive? Thats the important part :D
@cemkaanu Yeah, unfortunately the lightmaps took a poop right before I uploaded. I'm glad to hear the traps felt good! It was important for me to get that right. I also wanted to added coyote sounds and animation for the souls being collected too..Thank you for the feedback!
@silurus Yeah I should have given the tutorial part a little more of my time... as well as making the controls on the HUD more readable, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing!
Music was great, really set the mood. Good job on the simple animations, added so much personality to everything. I think giving the player a way to earn health back would help, as well as not having to press a button to pick up the trap. Just running over the used trap should pick it up automatically. Funny game, the end was worth it!
@deadjolly Thank you for playing and that feedback! Adding some health pickups certainly crossed my mind, but due to time constraints I opted for just increasing the players HP, but you're right, health pickups would have been a better solution I think.
This was fun to play and a pretty funny concept. The chicken circle with the cups cracked me up! I had similar spawning issues to other players, but I restarted and it worked again. It also took me a minute to figure out the controls, but I think I got the hang of it. Nice game!
Cute game with fun game play, good music and visuals. I don't know what else to say  . Very innovative. Really enjoyed the game. Keep it up.
Love the visuals and setups, I found controls a little tricky (but I suspect thats more a reflection on me :)
@blushingcrow Thank you and you're right! They are a little tricky, especially if you aren't using a gamepad. Thanks for playing!
A cute little game that I unfortunately can't beat, haha. Once I figured out the alt key switch up it felt like the game was messing with me and just stopped spawning wolves. I think it has to do with me trapping the first one to spawn and for whatever reason that just stops the rest of them? I can't be certain but it happened twice.
The bones are there, and I love the limitation of having two traps and needing to circle back for them. The swarming feels like an opposite-day Vampire Survivors mechanic where I'm being completely mobbed. I think a small jump/flutter could feel nice to allow me a bit more mobility to outsmart the wolves and could allow building in some verticality to the levels.
Nice work!
@deprecat Thanks for playing and that helpful feedback! The flutter + platforming could be an excellent extension on the core loop!
nice and fun little game! the art is also looks great
Once I figured out the left shift/left alt dilemma, boy howdy what a good time. Truly this game has brought me so much joy, well done.
What a bonkers take on the theme!
