Holy cow that game was stressful!! But really fun and so well-done, especially for a compo game! I stopped playing after I got to 15 potatoes or so because it's close to my bedtime and I was feeling too stressed by all those darn bugs. The level of polish is much higher than one typically sees for a game like this, and the game felt fairly well-balanced (though I wished I could see out a bit further.... wait... why didn't I just plant my crops right next to the well? oh my god. maybe I should play again. Anyway, great work!
@kristinamay Thanks for your comment!
I like the camera work and how the bugs leave splatters behind! Very fun :D

Hard but also really fun. I really like the idea, and both the visuals and music is pretty good. Overall a good jam game.

Very nice game! I figured out early on to just plant them next to the well, and I'm glad I did because things got hectic at the end lol, don't think I could do it if I also had to walk for water. Anyway, well done!

I enjoyed your game but the last 10 potatoes were quite stressful to grow :D I had one potato with the blinking animation but "press E to harvest" wouldn't show. I think a bigger hitbox for harvesting would improve gameplay.

Nice concept. Managed to grow all potatoes without a single beetle eating it. Loved the backstory at the start, adds lot of charm to the game.
I grew all 25 with no losses! :) I agree with everyone else, it started to get pretty hectic at the end there with so many potato bugs coming at the same time. I really enjoyed the music, it fit the atmosphere really well.

I really like the concept, and really enjoyed everything in the game. Great job!
Simple and fun game, would be better with a bucket upgrade :DD
Very fun game! Loved the cutscene!
Very nice! We had potato beetles on our potato field this year so this game triggered me a bit :D I like the combination of defense and farming. Would be very nice in a coop setting :)

A very busy game! I won! lol
A great game with good gameplay and lovely artstyle. I also find it great that there is a strict goal and so also a clear end. The only thing that was a bit weird was the hitbox for harvesting, which seemed to be a bit off/too small, which sometimes didn't allow me to interact.
Other than that, great job!
I don't know why but this management is really engaging. Bitting is really fun and sounds are solid. Overall is very finished game!

Cool game! I agree on the small harvesting hitbox (it looks like the hitbox for refilling the bucket is better, but only because the well is big?) I also like the intro.

Awesome game with very engaging gameplay loop! Well done! I beat with and the beetles didn't eat any of my potatoes ;)

Pro: - Bugs getting splattered - Multiple features (tools, tiles, plants, bugs, water etc.) working together
Con: - Dirt tiles dry up to fast (though the coolest solution would be, if they can stack charges of water) - sometimes detection for harvesting is complicated
and here is a screenshot during the battle for the last needed potato LD_52_StarchDefender.png
btw. I like to remind @jk5000 that this is also not a super simple game like Mycotic Uprising is not a super simple game(hehehe flame).
Now you are no longer at the 20 almost danger zone level, congrats on getting rated and keep on making cool games! *MUAH*

Really nice presentation, well done for a compo game! It took me a little while to figure out why clicking wouldn't affect the tile under the mouse, but that's my only gripe, everything else was great!
