I feel it is a good puzzle game
Fun puzzelgame. Good difficulty curve. Also liked the humor in the game.
I love the humor and there is some pretty clever puzzles, Congrats !
this is a really good puzzle game! took me a while to understand that i couldn't place a note in the middle of nowhere and that it had to link from one end to the other, but other than that — really well done. i also agree with the other comments that the difficulty curve is really well done. fun dialogue, too!
Fun game, nice job! It felt just challenging enough without being hard, perfect for a jam game!
Great game!
A super cool idea with the music creation, and I loved the little avatars coming in to give hints
Super cool idea - the puzzle felt satisfying :)
Unique take on the theme! I love the dialog throughout the game.
This puzzle game was fun with a creative mechanic. I agree with the other commenters, the difficulty curve is well adjusted and kept me going. I also liked the charcater dialogue sequences that also served as a tutorial(even though I honestly didn't get the story). As a minor remark: I just found the font a bit hard to read.
Very cool puzzle! Once I figured out the rules, it flowed very nicely. The dialogue was a good way to break up the focus requirement too.
Well the curve was really steppe for me, but once I figured out what is going on it was a riot. High score for humor and inventiveness.
Very good puzzle game. The story and characters are quite silly, I love it! I agree the fonts is a bit hard to read on some letters (like w). I was a bit confused at the beginning but after a couple of steps learning by trying I was just hooked and in the end I wanted more! Well done!
Good opening dialogue and characters. I want them to succeed!
I got past the first puzzle, but while trying to work out the rules for the second got the message: "Let's just pretend that nothing happened". Is there a way to get the band to start playing again once that happens, or is the game effectively finished at that point?
Thank you very much for playing and commenting @pennycook!
You can just continue with the level, the band will continue to play once you succeed in the level
Nice game, I liked the introduction, though it seemed like there was one segment of text (last one before interactivity) I didn't get to see (I could hear the "typing" sound in the background, but couldn't read what they were saying. I think I figured out all of the mechanics though and made it to the end. I really like that, unlike many "every 10 second" games, I've got something to work on while the last 10 seconds is playing out in the background =). I was afraid this was going to be realtime and was delightfully surprised to find it a calm puzzler. I would have liked it if the band were a little bit better sounding... ^_^
Always nice to play games about music, thanks a lot ! Humour is funky as well !
Love game's about music, really cool ! And so funny too ! it's really nice to play games that try something different, so creative and inspiring ! Well done !
interesting game, i dont know if there's an end, i assume yes, i got stuck at a level and called it a day ahah Nice gameplay and the characters and story behind why we do this terrible music is funny to me :p
SUNNY SAD
At first I expected a real-time, rhythm-based puzzle game so I was surprised when I found out that it was order-based instead!
On the game design side of things, it is very efficient at what it does, the concept is well thought out and the puzzles themselves are challenging and rewarding with a nice progression. You took a lot of time designing these and making sure they are solid and it shows! The two additional mechanics were creative and refreshing, but I felt like they made the game easier (by restricting your possibilities which are the game's main pitfall for the player) rather than add to the challenge.
The visuals are simple and do their job well, although a little bit of juice when moving notes around and succeeding wouldn't have hurt! The cute sprites in the dialogues were a nice addition that breathed a lot of very necessary life into the game. Speaking of dialogues, these were a nice and really funny reward after every "level", keeping me wanting for more, and did a really good job of building a concrete fantasy in such an abstract setting!
For a music-themed game, I would have expected a more lively soundscape, having simple chords play out in the background as you play would have really done a lot.
A really good game with perfectly tuned challenge and length (less would have left me hungry, and more would have overstayed its welcome) I had a lot of fun with, congrats!
This game was a journey. Once I figured out how to play it was easy, until it wasn't again :). I guess I'm not cut out for Mensa...
I don't see any other commentators saying they were confused, so I think I'm just dumb, but I struggled for like 10 minutes trying to figure out how to play this game. Once I finally beat the first 2 rows I felt like I could see through the matrix. Fell into the groove of the game and had a really good game.
Another awesome puzzle game, @oadt. I think you've commented on every one of my jams so thanks for that, you legend! Look forward to seeing what you make next jam!
@unitedfailures Well, I am a big fan since the cabbage game :joy: Thank you very much for your kind words!
Solid entry! Loved the tutorial and intro, and the free restart haha. Very creative and one of the best interpretations of the theme I've seen. Loved that it was a music game that didn't depend on my musical talents or timing haha.
