Pretty hard game, love the graphics!!
Thank you so much! @GrossGiirl worked her ass off on 'em!
Great game. The art is really amazing
This was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the retro feel of the game. But I appreciated the idea of having someone chasing you at all times. lots of fun
@rawb @ohsnapitzsean Thank you guys! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I am also a gigantic fan of the art.
Really fun to mess around in the world! Best part of the game was the nipple boss
Great job, I enjoyed the classic Zelda approach. It would be nice to get a bit more health, is pretty difficult right now. Great work overall.
Me gustó mucho el arte y la jugabilidad! buena idea y buen juego :D
@j-fret personally it was my favorite addition to him because I think it's funny af XD
@agushmar Thank you!
finally got to the end! Liked the music and graphics. Gameplay got a little stale and had some bugs, but nothing major. Still pretty fun, good job!
Ok, art and concept are fun, though the pathfinding could use some work. It's pretty easy to get the boss stuck on some rocks and have him be a nonissue while you're farming slimes. Also, not sure why but when you get the sword (level 6?) your attacks upward have no cooldown, lets you stunlock enemies. It helped with the farming, but I don't think it was intentional.
@kbf123 Definitely unintentional. This thing was a big rush man. But thank you! I'm glad you liked it! @t-c Glad you liked it!
This was so cute and fun. Yeah, the gameplay is a bit repetitive, but it reminded me of Secret of Mana or one of those grindy ARPGs where the combat loop is so fun that you can kind of just zone out. Really amazing what you've been able to create in just 72 hours. The art was, of course, awesome. One of the highlights of my first day of LD gameplay.
- Simple but engaging gameplay - Clever use of the theme - Occasional issues moving from one screen to another.
I found the game really tough, but not so hard that it makes you want to stop playing. The SNES-style graphics are definitely a win. The ethereal music perfectly sets the mood, as does the rock riff for the boss. It'd be cool to see a bit of variety in the combat mechanics, or maybe some items hidden in the grass. But, all around, it's solidly built game, even disregarding the limitations of the jam. Nicely done!
@inanimatecarbonrod Thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say! @warchief Now THAT'S a hell of a compliment, thank you!
I think this game really shines in humor, graphics, and core mechanics, but suffers in balance/difficulty curve. It feels like an endurance test of how fast I can spam the attack key and having to go through the entire opening again if you die and spam the button AGAIN feels really tedious (am I missing a skip button?). The gameplay is like: Spawn in, get some enemies to chase me (getting the entire room is more efficient), and then sit there spamming the attack key and occasionally tapping a direction to stay the correct distance away (and the higher level you get, the more it's just spamming one button while standing still but the enemies don't feel like they really die any faster).
It's a shame because I do really enjoy that the boss chases you and I think the gameplay of kiting the boss through multiple screens while trying to kill enemies is very engaging! But I got too tired/bored of button spamming on hitlocked slimes to really experience the extent of what I think this game has to offer.
Bugs/observations: - The text occasionally doesn't draw in the correct place when moving between screens - such as from death to the main menu. - The boss gets stuck on cliffs - spent a while searching for him since I heard the music and he was trying so hard to reach me. - Walking into grass causes the "hurt" animation to play sometimes
Cool game. I appreciate some of the little things like having more than one hit sound so that it doesn't get stale (at least I think there's more than one). The slime AI is challenging but fun to deal with. The boss following you around is a good "delay the inevitable" thing too
I ran into some issues with the boss spawning on me when changing scenes, and also rolling into scene transitions knocks you back which can be frustrating in an escape situation :P Also I have to say for a jam game the boss's health is tuned really high especially since you have no real way to hit him that isn't grinding an extreme amount. But since this is "delay the inevitable" maybe that's the point?
@kianamosser Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! You're absolutely right on these fronts and if we ever get the chance to get together again and patch it or even expand it, we'll probably be implementing changes on all those fronts!
@cornfab Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it, also yeah, the rolling into transitions thing popped up RIGHT at the very end and we couldn't do anything about it but you're right, it's weird. But I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!
I agree with what the others have said and would like to add that usually these kind of "hack and slash" games feel more satisfying to play when there's more enemies with less hp rather than a few enemies with a lot of hp. Other than that great work! I really liked the graphics!
Very fun game indeed. Played a couple of rounds and really liked, that not only your hits become stronger with increased level, but also the weapon graphics itself upgrade - very cool detail. Graphics are fun to look at, the overall mood feels friendly at first, yet when you hear the boss coming, you know you're in big trouble. Keep up the good work :)
Really cool game! The boss kicked me out of bounds on my fourth run and i was able to kill him on level 6 already =D
You game is catchy your leveling mechanic works well, and also the boss gives stress
great entry ;)
@robin-schmitz Thank you so much! We're stoked you liked it and thank you for the feedback! @mtrx Hey, stoked you liked it! And hey that's the danger of makin' a jam game, glad you enjoyed it regardless! @hadesfury Glad you dug it, thank you! I'm of the mindset that XP grinding can be a great time and I kinda wanted to play on my own enjoyment of it!
Very challenging game, but whoever slayed the fren at the beginning is a monster!
I love the art style, and the dialogue at the beginning of the game is fantastic. "You need to kill me quick!" funny stuff. I was able to safe-spot the boss, by the way. I obviously didn't sit there for 20 minutes smacking him at level 3 though. Just a heads up.

All around, this was a great game! Nice work.
love it! c=very very fun
THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!! I LOVE IT - movement feels so flowy and nice, the animations are high quality and its so ADDICTIVE!
I love the character design and art, it's adorable! I wish to see the full game in this style!
As the others noted, it's pretty easy to get the boss stuck and beat the crap out of it even at level one, so you might want to take a look at that o:
Nice job!
Visual is so great! I noticed that the boss sometimes gets stuck in the walls. All in all a good job
Wow! nice visuals and cool mechanic, its very interesting. :smirk:
Great Graphics! real retro vibe i keep going for another try each time. Good stuff.
Fun game! I really liked the character designs.
some notes: One nice quality of life feature would be the ability to hold the attack button down to continuously swing the sword. That way the player wouldn't have to mash as much.
Other than that, I really liked this one!
Some funny dialog. Character animations were nice. Love the music shift when the boss appears. I definitely got my lil froggy behind handed to me a few times.
Thank you to @trevormccauley @corrupt-spaghetti @jchab @marvis @allax @sodoj @100th-coin and @kazuren for the incredibly kind comments and extremely helpful feedback! Sorry for not responding until now, but it means a lot!
