Hey, I can't play your game, but looks really cool! Good luck!
Really liked the art style and sounds! The jumping mechanic made more sense as I got used to it and let me do some rather precise jumps. I think a drop shadow would have made it a bit easier to look down and position my mself over platform. Love the CD style art cover too!
I like the style and tilt movement. Parkouring is a bit difficult to master but you get used to it!
I like the colors and the vibe of this that feels like chrono cross + kirby + rare 2k games.
Great aesthetics! Loved the visual and audio direction. Jumping can feel a bit counter-intuitive at times, I'd love to play a more polished version as I think you've got something really cool here.
Wow, I love the aesthetic! The dreamlike clock environment is really surreal, and the PS1 era low polygon models add to it! Very cool.
@beefsock @cobgoblin @100th-coin @smash-city @lvl99chicken @velvetlobster Thank you all for trying out the game... I uploaded a bug fix version with some bugs that were breaking the game now fixed, i invite you to play the new version and tell mw what you think!
Very stylish. It's a game that demands a bit of planning before jumping. Rushing always led me to death, despite clocks ticking away time all around me hahaha. Loved the atmosphere and graphical style. The physics felt right, though landing took awhile to get good at. Overall, great work!
Love love LOVED the visual style and mood! The jumping was insanely powerful though and difficult to control, so after a minute of trying I couldn't really land on anything. Perhaps a frame rate issue? I know super fast speeds are a common bug in godot, dunno about unreal :)
Awesome ghaphics and sound design. Jumping is very hard at first, but you are getting used to it pretty fast
Love the mood and art style, unfortunately I had a few issues. the UI does not play nice with my ultra-wide so I couldn't see/read any of the UI messages, which made it quite hard to figure out what to do  also for some reason the game tried to launch in steam VR. but none of this ruined the experience for me, just made the start a bit rough. fantastic job!
Visually simply amazing and quite the trip. Can't even begin to think of how long it must've taken to get all those models done!
The controls felt a bit too slippery for me to make any progress, so I watched the gameplay video instead and saw that there's indeed a learning curve to controlling the character.
I imagine this being a great speed-running game, very much fitting the name! Nice work!
@simex oooh, i know exatly the source of those two problems, I'm gonna make a post-LD version and keep them in mind, thanks for the feedback!!!!
Cool game! I especially like all the clock-based audio and sfx. Is the music original? If so, I'd love to see it uploaded to Soundcloud or something.
@dingledorf it is! gonna talk to Patrick to see if he uploads it to Soundcloud
Very cool game! I featured it in part two of my let's play series: https://youtu.be/moEABKSaTuI
Man, the art style is so unique, i love it! Soundtrack is good as well, and the whole game gives a unique old game/retro/fever dream vibe that i like (i also like the old CD cover, it takes me back) . I also like the fact that the camera tilts a bit when you move. The jump distance was insane, i had to completely recalculate distances everytime i jumped, but i don't see it as a negative thing. Overall, good job
It took me really quite a few tries to get the hang of the controls. I kept thinking I missed something, but no, the controls are just like they are. In the beginning the strong inertia was really annoying, but as I got the hang of it that actually became the fun part. With a bit of run-up you could do massive jumps, but they were tricky to pull off. I think you nailed the movement system, but might need a better way to introduce it.
With the mechanics of finding the token I had the exact same experience. It told me to look at the clock for the direction of the token, but I was like 'what clock'? There were clocks on the ground, there was a clock on my watch and there was a clock in the sky, so I had no idea where to look. Eventually I figured out I had to look at all the clocks on the ground, and after I noticed this the game became a lot of fun. I was no longer running around aimlessly trying to find this token, but instead had a bit of direction.
So once I understood how I could control the character and what I was supposed to do I think this game was absolutely amazing! It was so much fun to just jump around and pull off crazy jumps. You also had to hurry up quite a bit because the time was always running out. This forced the player to actually try those hard jumps instead of playing it safe. I think the mechanics and the controls really boosted each other in that way. The music, sounds and art were also very coherent and gave the whole game a mysterious atmosphere that I really liked.
So all-in-all, an amazing game with a difficult learning curve :) Really well done in 72 hours! I am really happy I played this one :D
@dingledorf Hey, thanks for commenting on the music. It's available here https://soundcloud.com/ptkstefano/chronolapse-ost 😁
The visuals are incredible, and so is the music - The game is very aesthetically pleasing. I couldn't manage to get a grip of the controls, though, I fell down a lot and wasn't able to progress haha. Anyhow, I think the concept is pretty cool, precision platforming with a time limit and whimsical environments. This game gives a dear nostalgia feel as well, kudos for that.
Very cool entry, good job!
One of the best looking game jam games I've played, the music is pretty good too. The controls feel way too slippery though.
Interesting idea and high-quality execution! Good job
Good game! I really like the atmosphere game, nice job!
By the way, we implemented the same use of the theme, if you want to have a look 😊
I really like setting of your game created by pixelish graphics and background music. The main gameplay reminded me some of the Half-Life XEN levels where you need to jump from one platform to another to find the way out. I also a fan of the idea of not having UI and instead using the clock in game. To make it a little bit easier i would add the marker of time that left before the game will end (or mby it is already and i didnt noticed it?). I had trouble with spotting the coins, maybe they should be more visible since jumping is already a thing to learn? Overall the game is simple and well done. It is the completed project which You should be really proud of :) Congratz of finishin it!
Really cool concept and aesthetic! My only note for improvement would be that it's kinda hard to brake your momentum mid-jump.
