Note to other players: on ship piloting duty, move right is the E key not D.

The danger of minigames in game jam games is that it takes a lot of time and it's a bigger challenge to get the idea through or to be innovative. It is very impressive over all. I didn't figure out what to do in the cleaning minigame.

Nice work! It's hard enough making one game for a game jam, but getting minigames working too is impressive. It's a fun game and I think outside of a few minor bugs (Move right as E instead of D, can't replenish ammo without firing your gun) I enjoyed it! Also I like how you slowly introduced the ship systems over time - it made it way less overwhelming to play when everything started to go wrong

I have to admit this didn't hold my interest through the whole trip and I didn't finish the game, but it's cool. The theme is nice, I like the fact you give players time to learn the layout and the minigames, and every individual mechanic is well-explained and solid. I just think it's a bit too long and repetitive. But it's a cool idea nicely executed (except for the mistake in the flying minigame controls).

Well that was not helpful for my anxiety! LOL Nice idea, I was initially enjoying a space walk then everything broke and had to come back and keep the humans from freezing. Pulling minigames in so little time is very impressive. Well done.

As others said making multiple minigames is very impressive for 48 hours. I'm a sucker for space settings and robots so I really enjoyed the premise. Nothing really wrong with it that couldn't be adjusted with a little more time. Great work :D

I managed to finish it! Cute little game for the compo.

I will mention I ran into a few bugs that made it challenging. The ship control bug mentioned above really threw me for a loop, I actually had to restart the game to get past it. I'm not sure if this was supposed to happen, but later in the game, maybe 4 or 5 pieces of trash got stuck on the far right wall in the life support system, so I could only get the health back up to 50% or so. I also had a really hard time getting rid of the trash on that system, since you let go of trash as soon as the mouse leaves the game area. (Making that just a few pixels bigger might make a world of difference)

That aside, this is a really cool game! It's definitely impressive to get multiple small games working in the compo timeframe. I actually thought the length of the game was perfect - just long enough to experience all of the minigames, and start having to prioritize things. I also really liked the music - it created a chill atmosphere. (And helped balance the anxiety of watching all the things!) The slow introduction of minigames was also really helpful, as someone else already commented.

Thanks for a really fun game!

Very fun, I managed to save the humans! Loved how you introduce the game elements at the start, the only issue for me is the controls of the auto pilot A to left and E to right for me, took some time to figure out. Overall great entry!

Thanks for the feedback about the input issue @johnathan-peres @ilokimo @reccy ! I have resolved it.

Great Job! Must have been difficult to program all the tasks for UNSTABLE for the Jam! Like the concept of a robot juggling so many tasks on a ship. Cool game!

Really cool game. It is easy to see that you hardworked on all game mechanics. Only thing is needed - is polishing. Also theme is not disclosed.

Really well balanced game. I was worried that once the tutorial part ended I wouldn't be able to keep up but it was just about right once I properly understood the mechanics.

The tutorial was pretty good the first time around, but it did get a bit annoying on my second attempt. It would have been good to separate a "game" mode and a "tutorial" mode so that you don't have to wait for all the mechanics to start working.

Loved the robot name! haha I'm impressed how you were able to put mini games into it in such a limited time. Good job

I have enjoyed watching the crew die!

This is a really neat concept - I like the idea of minigames. I played for quite a while, and I could never find anything that let me shoot, and I couldn't find anything to do with the welding gun. I couldn't seem to switch from the fire extinguisher (which I could use, but there were no fires). I tried clicking on the other items at the bottom, no luck. They all had full green bars. Not sure what the problem was.

levidsmith 2021-10-09 02:08

Nice game! I liked how all of the mini-games were tied together to complete the overall objective. One issue I had was using up resources (such as fire extinguisher) as I was trying to fill up another one (such as guns).

zubspace 2021-10-10 20:23

Very interesting game. Like the different minigames you put in there. It's a bit frantic, because you introduced so many things to thing about in a very short time. But I guess, that was the point :) Audio effects are definitely missing, but still, well done for a Compo game!

Nice game, maybe a bit too ambitious
