Couldn't find the page. Is it part of the experience ? x) No typo in the link though...

fabighindaru 2021-04-26 08:00

@badpaul34 I think I fixed it :D Thanks for letting me know!

ruslanch 2021-04-26 08:04

OH MY GOD, IT IS VERY GOOD!!!

madelfino 2021-04-26 08:31

I like the separate manual - reminds be of Zachtronics games which I'm a big fan of.

imzary 2021-04-26 08:49

Okay, after playing the game, i would say, Cool idea, good concept, but hard to play

I spent more then half an hour trying to play this game, & after the First 3 puzzle's, i kept dying & dying & dying, i couldn't pass it simply, i would say Cool concept, like this is a pretty fresh & cool idea, just too hard to play ):, Thanks for reading & have a great day.

fabighindaru 2021-04-26 08:51

@imzary Thanks for playing mate! I really didn't have time for playtesting and it shows. Hopefully you didn't get very annoyed with it.

Thanks again for playing, I really appreciate it!

judgezedd 2021-04-26 14:44

*Supremely* frustrating, but in a good way. Very clever, and works on multiple levels. Incredible work for 48h.

mystrix 2021-04-26 14:50

Amazing Work! I really loved it and it was very creative! would have been even greater with some more sounds and maybe music otherwise the game was amazing and very fun to play!:D

xtacobaco 2021-04-26 14:51

Its amazing how much you where able to cram into this game in only 48 hours. Great game and cool concept, had a fun time with it!

goutye 2021-04-26 14:59

Excellent work! Well done :v: I had a lot of fun and some frustrations with these tiny balls to go through the maze! Fun work with the debug mode to the side!

fabighindaru 2021-04-26 15:07

@judgezedd @mystrix @xtacobaco @goutye Thank you so much for the kind words guys, it really means a lot!

(I know that the game is too hard and that it's not very polished, I might make a post-jam version some time soon :D )

ramkey 2021-04-26 18:06

A unique take on the theme. Loved the special concept of the manual, felt like a hacker form movies

nazorus 2021-04-26 20:57

This is the coolest interpretation of the theme I saw so far, so kudos for that! Some puzzles were kinda frustrating (mostly the ones about dodging bullets I have to admit), but I really liked the concept of both playing the game and using the manual to be able to progress through it.

I only found one bug, I was able to walk inside of a collider at some point, not sure what's up with that.

Cool entry, possibly the most interesting I've seen yet!

nicmagnier 2021-04-27 07:29

This is a really neat idea and interesting take on the theme. I especially like that you need to run a debug application on the side. This is a really nice touch. Some levels are a bit too hard and I would also say that the game might be too long. A shorter but denser experience works better for game jams :)

assertfailure 2021-04-27 16:50

A cool idea for sure, but I found it kinda difficult, especially the bullet dodging stuff. Would've appreciated some audio as well. The idea has potential though :)

verysoftwares 2021-04-27 19:22

pretty innovative!

charliegray 2021-04-27 19:23

Cool idea to have two programs running and have to debug the game. A fun puzzle game.

krzyhau 2021-04-27 19:39

I really like the concept of multiple windows. Your execution of this idea is fresh, and I enjoyed it. I wish there was more audio though. I got scared once I've heard a noise in a puzzle lol.

justinmullin 2021-04-27 19:57

Love this. Truly creative. I did encounter a bug where the final step before the start didn't quite work, and I had to do some proper debugging of my own to track it down, but that added to the mystique. =)

Some of the bullet hell segments were really challenging! Very cool entry.

incobalt 2021-04-28 01:19

I really rather liked this, though man those bullet hells were frustrating to someone not good at reactions. Honestly, I liked the game without them more than with them. I couldn't find the secret, though I finished every objective. I assume that the "white barrier" was the thing near the tile puzzle, but I'd done everything up to then and it was still there. Anyway. I love the separate window being used and the added "watch this video" was a great touch. I *do* wish the debugger were more of a debugger, but I recognize that it's tough to get inter-app stuff working in a short time. As it is now, the debugger just seems to operate as a hint guide and manual.

human-writes-code 2021-04-28 07:07

This is a really interesting game. I struggled so much with the challenge of it, though. I liked that you have to keep a manual open as you play. Very creative! Well done!

fabighindaru 2021-04-28 09:00

@nazorus @ramkey @nicmagnier @assertfailure @verysoftwares @charliegray @krzyhau @justinmullin @incobalt @human-writes-code

First of all, thank you for playing and rating my game! It really means a lot.

Yes, I know, I suck at managing difficulty. I should really pay more attention in the future. I really hope you weren't too annoyed with it :D

Originally, the debug helper should've reacted to the way you play. For example, when you reach the invisible maze, a prompt asking you to turn on collision would've appeared. Unfortunately due to time constraints that mechanic never got to see the light of day.

Still, I'm really happy you guys enjoy it despite those things!

oldengamer 2021-04-28 21:52

Such a cool concept. Kind of reminds me of the old anti-piracy measures games would have in the instruction manuals.

mhorth 2021-04-28 22:13

Very cool concept! I spent so much time getting through the first bullet dodging area that I'd forgotten about the whole debug stuff. I was confused at the invisible walls until I remember "oh we have to do debug!". Really interesting. Would love to see what this idea can turn into.

pvp 2021-04-29 14:17

Some parts are really hard (layers) :p but wow that concept was cool and unique. I would like to play a post-jam version with more polish and more puzzle. Well done.

japes 2021-04-29 20:14

Yup I agree with most of the other reviewers, excellent idea, very creative, only complaint is that the bullet hell stuff could get frustrating. There is so much potential with this idea! Can only imagine what else you'd come up with, given more time. The part at the end to get the star was genius!

The biggest thing lacking was better sound and maybe a catchy soundtrack in the background. That's the first thing I'd, if I was going to work on this some more. Nice entry.

caeonosphere 2021-04-30 08:47

What does it say about me that my favorite part was the math puzzle? -_-

fabighindaru 2021-04-30 15:45

@oldengamer :)) Yeah, the code screen at the beginning was exactly that.

@mhorth @pvp @japes I think I'll try to make a "community edition" that features stuff like music and balance in terms of difficulty. (Don't really count on it though)

@caeonosphere I thought that was the worst part lol. Glad you at least enjoy that! :D

shin0nome 2021-05-02 13:08

Very ingenious game, I loved it ! It's an "escape game" and you go deeper and deeper into the game, great idea ! It's hard because the bullets are very fast but othewise it's perfect ! Great game, good job !

itsisaac 2021-05-02 13:19

Great little game! Love the humour of it! Interesting concept also of having two exes! never seen that before :P

evn 2021-05-05 00:18

Looks awesome! I'd love a mac or web port! :)

james-macgill 2021-05-05 03:55

Fun setup with the distinct tool, too hard for me to finish right now, but this feels like one I will come back to. Nice play on 'depth'.

shigor 2021-05-12 21:48

The concept is really cool, that combo of debug manual and using debug stuff is really nice... But man, as was said, the difficulty is probably too high - I just wasn't able to do the first bullet hell screen - gave up after few minutes since I just couldn't find a way to do it except having excellent reflexes... which I don't - I might have missed something, but couldn't find anything in the manual - and THIS area should have debug mode with invincibility :D I originally though oh cool I disable collisions and just walk past... didn't work that way :/

fabighindaru 2021-05-13 11:55

@shin0nome @itsisaac Thank you for the kind words!

@evn Mac ports are kind of hard but I'll see what I can do :)

@justinmullin @shigor By far the worst flaw of the game is the difficulty. I expected people to be more annoyed by the lack of sounds or the "graphics" if you can call them that. The addition of invincibility is actually a very good idea. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for playing, even though it wasn't for long :D

doc-moustache 2021-05-18 11:33

Awesome idea executed quite good. I would love it as a deeper game. But even more with a more realistic game (platformer?)
