Very creative boss mechanic. I was unable to pass the first boss. I couldn't figure out if I had to do something beside avoiding the 01010 coming from everywhere. The farthest I made it was the part where the ground starts moving. I don't know if I'm just bad at the game or if it's just hard, but good work either way! The music is really engaging too even if it becomes repetitive fast. The frog made me laugh
Cool game! Seeing the title I expected something crazy and cryptic and was not disappointed! 5/5
Solid mechanics, the controls are a bit harsh to get right. Same as @justine-d died on the rolling carpet of 1s & 0s. Good job
This was incredible! At first it looked like a straight forward platformer, but having the ground pound be the only form attack led to the heart being a really fun boss fight! It killed me 25 times, but seeing the invincible frog have those passive remarks gave me a good chuckle. I really do think the heart was a creative boss fight. A way to change it up could have been to have multiple weak points around the arena, but avoiding everything was still enjoyable. Music also was very fitting and did not get annoying hearing it restart, so good job on that. Great game, good luck with this!
You submitted to my stream but left before I played it! I had a lot of fun with this! I think you did well tutorializing a lot of parts without telling the player directly like the dash attack to get through, the blue jump pad, and when you enter the heart boss fight, you start with the dash attack to damage him.
Overall a really solid entry with interesting and funny ideas!
@toppervideogames Thanks so much for the feedback! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm still working on updating the game to my original vision, so your suggestion will not go to waste!
Hey that's a cool game ! you deserve more ratings ! I like a lot the boss design, the only thing I think could be improved is the inertia of the character, that is non existent most of the time, and is way too strong when you get pushed. It makes the boss way more unfair that it needs to. And maybe the boss could benefit from some more platforms or level features, because currently the best strategy I have found is to stay all the time in the middle, only dodge what is necessary and jump when the bumper is under. Just adding something that make the rest of the screen useful would make the boss even more fun. Good job overall, the graphics are cool, the scenario is fun, and the sound is well polished.
- Music & sounds are great. - Frog. - Graphics are well-polished. - The player character feels a little sluggish at times, possibly due to lack of acceleration. - I found the heart boss fight absurdly difficult compared to the rest of the game. With no checkpoints, I was forced to do the first phase repeatedly, which got tedious fairly quickly, and I ended up quitting.
This was a fun game! It took me a bit to realise I could ground pound the first time, not sure why, but other than that it taught the mechanics well. The boss fight vs the heart was really well put together, and the way the attacks changed - the conveyor floor, the green/red spikes etc - kept it from being monotonous (despite one bug where the conveyor belt started while I was still in the dialogue box :p)
I didn't quite beat the heart boss, but I had a lot of fun trying. I'll probably try again! The boss itself, while hard, was definitely well thought-out and forced me to focus & react. Overall, I had a lot of fun :)
Fun little game, too bad I suck at platformers.. got to the heart.
Nice art style though.
Oh boy, this got very trippy.

I am very impressed by the turn the game took. Like, actually amazed. It has solid presentation (though I never like having to install LD Jam games), good music, and the bit with the frog was funny. At first, I thought that the jumping physics were a bit clunky and the platforming didn't really do it for me.
But then it turned out to be just fodder for a boss fight game. I really like these short games with unique big enemies, and this one is among the most fun ones I've played in a while. It truly looks and feels like some final boss. While the jumping was still a bit difficult, it felt better to just try to stay in place rather than to move around in mid-air, so it wasn't a problem here. I really dig that new obstacles kept being added and changing, and the moving floor was the most impressive of them all, since it directly challenged my strategy.
After 5 deaths, I was victorious. It was a superb fight. Perhaps a bit too difficult to some given that it's instant death with one hit (some which may feel unfair when it comes to the green bouncty stalactites), but it's not that long of a fight to being with, and with enough perseverance, one is bound to win.
I liked this entry a lot. It has a lot of creativity and heart (pun intended). It's just superb!! :whale:
Dude this is the best game I've played in a ludum dare. This was awesome. The heart boss fight felt way too difficult, but I eventually got better and it beat it. That was the only section that I thought was designed sub par, and even then most of it was great. This is an awesome game with a lot of heart. I tried to translate the heart's binary to English bc I figure it probably means something but I wasn't able to in time haha. Really great game, audio is good, the entire atmosphere is fantastic, the main menu is immaculate, I love it dude. The moment where you discover the down smash mechanic at the door to go into the frog's lair is great, I love it because it teaches you without needing a text screen. Great game dude.
What the boss text says in English. Cool little easter egg!

oK, WTF was that hahahaha in the beggining was everything so normal and clean (but not the menu screen) and suddenly theres a frog with a treasure, and after Im talking with a heart in binary code. best drug ever. I loved the mechanic with the heart, but also very difficult. I took a while to understand what to do. You didnt explai on the other stages that mechanic, so maybe its a good point to add! Very crazy game, best trip ever hahahaha
This was really fun! The graphical style was unique and looked awesome. The platforming portion was kind of short, but the bossfight at the end was really well done. I appreciated how the progression of boss attacks kept changing, and the music got more and more intense. The conveyor belt effect was also very neat. The visual indicators of the heart beating faster and faster and flashing different colors were really nice to see that the boss was actually taking damage. Great work!
Solid concept, felt in all aspects of the game. Good music, all visuals work towards the goal. Bonus points for an anatomically correct heart in video game
I was a bit confused at first about the down dash mechanic, and control during platforming sections feels kinda floaty. I didn't like being forced to WASD in a 2d platformer, my left hand isn't as great at eye coordination as my right one. The final boss felt somewhat unfair, but I did finally beat it (a bit embarrassed about the time and death count it took, though).
Also, personal request to the world, could we go past displaying binary in popular culture computerstuff and advance to hexadecimal? :)
I could not understand how to pass the first boss
