In all its horrorness(Why did I do this to myself? I am terrible with Horror! You succeeded in horroring me out, well done.), this game leaves me a little lost to be honest (well, I guess to a certain degree that's intended).
I see you like writing - and you're good at it - but the Intro is very long down time, so maybe try a different approach to storytelling next time. It might also be a good idea to make the Intro skipping less sensitive(i had skipped it before I noticed that I could).
Regarding the gameplay: I figure it's not uncommon for Horror games to be mainly walking through [insert creepy place], so there isn't really anything wrong with that. However, some interactables apart from the pages would have helped to keep me engaged. In my opinion, the mouse sensitivity is wayyy to high, which left me disoriented often and made it hard to stay focused.
Other than that, I think you did a good job regarding the mood overall!
On a last note, you might want to check https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/176454/unexpected-scaling-of-ui-elements-after-build-unity-web to fix the UI scaling for the WebGL build.

Nice mood, a bit lovecraftian ! I loved the narrator's text & voice :)
Sadly screamers are not for me, I managed to get 5 pages before quitting. I constantly got lost, sometimes my rotation became jerky and I had no idea of my orientation anymore (critical in straight corridors) :(
The flashlight focus is a good idea, it would have been the perfect feature if I have met moving threats !
Great immersion, the graphics are pretty well made, the jump scares most definitely got me however, the sensitivity is way too high. pretty amazing though!
thx

Very atmospheric and creepy, love the mood of this one. I did find it very easy to get lost when turning around due to the sensitivity, which was a bit disorienting. Nice to see some scary games in this jam, nice work
Oh) really creepy)) nice mode
Hey man! Unfortunately, I can't play your game, even the Web version, but it looks sick! I wanted to stop by and thank you for playing our game! As well as streaming it on your Twitch channel and just sharing your thoughts. You reaction was very rewarding and your comments were solid. All the best, and good luck!!
I like it, I had a bit of trouble looking around at first because my mouse sensitivity was really high and so I was getting turned around a lot in the corridors. The audio really establishes a strong atmosphere.
graphic is cool ! But the zombie sound is way too loud x)

Definitly scary, I found most of the pages and finished the game. The idea to focus the flashlight is good but not really used to its full potential (most of the time I had it focuse somewhere in the middle).

Really good game! I didnt manage to finish the game because I am not build for horror games, but the pieces of the story I managed to find were really interesting. I am very impressed with how large the map is and how much of a story you managed to make in such a short time.
Really good writing and atmosphere. It looks good pretty well polished for a jam game. The acting in the voice recordings are also quite good.
I've done a few horror games so I could survive it, but I stopped pretty quickly as the game seemed to rely only on those sudden screaming sounds to scare the player. While they worked, I found them quickly irritating, I think it's a cheap technique that can be used once but not all the time. I also spent a lot of time running in circles without finding any pages, so I got bored after some time.
But good work overall!
It took me a really long time to realize that it didn't matter which way I went, that the caves were generating around me. Very well polished, and good voice acting for an LD game, music was also very good. I didn't really understand what was going with the ending (didn't get all the pages), and also never ended up using the number clues on the one page... wasn't sure if I just missed things or if they were meant to be red herrings.

Cool game! I spent some time wandering around, but couldn't find all the pages unfortunately. The mood is really great. The cave graphics, the voice act, and the music were all great and everything suits very well. Also the light cone idea was cool! I wish I could adjust volumes in-game (I played in web version), the screams and growls were a bit too loud compared to others.
(One small thing I noticed: the footstep sound still kept playing when you're in the air.)
What a cool little horror game! I like the fact that you get the hint about the right hand rule, which actually ends up leading you to the end when you follow it, but I think that hint should have come a bit earlier to keep people from wandering too much. Something you should also think about is that by giving the player the option to miss pages they might miss part of the story that you were trying to tell.
Other than that I think you did a great job! The lovecraft inspired story, the music that intensified the deeper you got. I personally got enough atmosphere from the game and could have gone without the jumpscares, but they we're not too over the top and I am wondering if I skipped some by moving along the walls.
The thing that bummed me out a bit is that I didn't quite get the ending I think. I decided to take the book, but it didn't seem to do all that much.
Either way, this was really fun, looked and sounded great, and had a good story too. All together probably one of the best games I have played this jam so far. Really well done guys!
The audio, story, and atmosphere is where this game shined. That and the cave was pretty dope (well-textured). This reminded me of Slenderman. Overall pretty cool, creepy, and interesting game here. The zooming flashlight was cool, but would've been better if I wasn't using a trackpad.

Hey everyone, thanks for your reviews! We really appreciate that :)
Here some notes:
It was part of the concept, to create the feeling of getting lost, when creating the map. While creating the level i got lost myself several times :D
When only following the right/left hand rule, you'll reach the end, but you won't get all pages, thats true, so you will have to explore :)
Story & Music was truly inspired by Lovecraft :)

I also like to read books and recently decided to use https://pdfmania.com/modern/141-7-habits-of-highly-effective-people.html which is a really interesting way to learn something new. This book helps to learn how to behave yourself and also you can freely download it from this resource. I recommend this option!

You are really good at writing because you love it!You are really good at writing because you love it! And I really like to read different books, so after reading your summary, it was as if my appetite was playing out and I wanted to read a book. By the way, if you are interested or it might be useful, I always search on this site https://freebooksummary.com/category/the-true-confessions-of-charlotte-doyle for books that I want to read. Thus, I read only selected books that I definitely like. If you often read for inspiration, then you may also like this service!

Great dive, I also like the graphics, everything is very realistic, especially the jumps. Due to the high sensitivity, it is difficult to master control. But this is definitely the best book I've ever seen. You definitely have a lot of talent. Also, you can always ask for assistance here https://essayexaminer.com/writepaperforme-review/ if you need help in the text development. Good luck with your new projects.

Great, thanks! The book is pretty serious both as an artifact and as a literary work. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and advice on this. At the moment I have started reading Macbeth. I have read several critical articles on https://studydriver.com/macbeth/ that reveal different aspects of the play Macbeth. Before that, I had watched several movies and it all motivated me to start reading this great work.
