Interesting subject material
I was so close!! After making the big decision right or left, I was hanging in there going to the right trying to get ahead of the others. When I saw the egg I was so happy, my gamble payed off! But, sadly I think I came in third place...
... and in this "Game of Life" you don't get a metal for 3rd place

Probably not the most accurate to life game but challenging movement mechanic in a race against a whole bunch of opponenets!

I guess I took a wrong turn ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Cool entry though!
Funny interpretation of the theme. My friend and I joked about something like this but it's funny to see someone actually made it.
The movement felt painfully slow and it never really felt as if I was in control of my character but perhaps that's the point.
1/10 on the message, I won a 100m sprint in grade 8 so I have won at least 2 races in my lifetime.
Nice game idea, thanks for checking out my version of... well... the same thing! Not sure I can give feedback without being biased by my own implementation :D The one definitely thing I'd recommend changing is the pacing of the game -- it overall feels a bit slow to progress. Great minds do think alike though <3
Ahaha I choosed the wrong side, I guess... this is the life
Fun idea, it's very cool to race against a billion. You should increase the resolution of the background to have a better render.
@the-neon-shark is right, the progress is a bit slow.
Good job.
Ha... interesting interpretation of the theme. I'm happy to say I chose correctly AND I raced my way to be first to the egg (woohoo for me!). My biggest beef is that the movement is awfully slow. Picking up the pace would make for a more enjoyable experience. Though, I did enjoy the music on my journey. Well done!
Hahaha! Okay, _someone_ had to do the theme we all thought of at first! :-D

This feels like a Monty Python sketch somehow.
I... uh. Well, you made a game. Did it make me chuckle? Definitely. Was it good? It was a jam game. I'm glad you finished your game. The controls were a little frustrating, but I really liked the idea of racing against a large number of AI opponents.

Hahah, its an interesting experience Ill give you that. The controls arent snappy but I guess that's on purpose. I didn't feel like I had a lot of agency on the outcome of the race but somehow that feels like the intended experience. Good jam game!
If I were to think of things to improve, it could be more race-y, maybe power ups / boosts to spice up the gameplay, but all the while retaining the slightly out of control nature of the movement
Lost the first time through, but succeeded on the second. Finally figured out mute required a shift-M. Not sure it has all that much replayability.
Interesting concept. Enjoyable, but the controls are very unresponsive, which makes it hard to know how to control the "main character". When they turn upside down, do the arrow keys reverse? I was in the lead until nearly the end, but then I got stuck and started going backwards... didn't matter in the end because the egg was not there. Also, the sound is clipping quite a bit on the web version, must be too many of those little guys for whatever engine this is to handle!

The plodding music gives is some unexpected humour. I think it would look a bit nicer with a clean vector illustration style. However, this is an interesting experience, well done.
We uh, had similar ideas for this compo. Great minds think alike? ;)

Yaay compo!
Great music, cool graphics, I liked the simulation of the other competitors. They went the same path as me and it seemed natural.
Also great material to teach kids how those things work!
Great work!

Great job  It took me a while, but I WON! Love your choice of music, the controls were a little frustrating, it seemed nearly impossible, BUT IT CAN BE DONE!
