Good defence game. Graphics simple but very cute. Nice game! Add some evolution details;

I got a new world record! Simple but fairly fun to play. I quite like the lighting and cube graphics at that angle. It would be good if you could see the fire line when you shoot further.

* Those particle effects! I like the muzzle flash and the bouncing explosion when an enemy is defeated. * I wish there was some way to see where exactly I am aiming, whether with a projectile or just a line or something. * The screen glow effect is nice, it spruces up the blocky shapes quite a bit. * The music is a bit grating, more variety would definitely help. * The sound effects are nice, classic crunchy hit and fire sounds. * I like how enemies continue to pile up on the game over screen. * I wish there was an indicator of the score while playing. * The way enemies speed up as they get closer is cool, really lends a sense of panic and urgency to the game once things start to get out of control. * Nice work!

Congratulation for your first LD entry, keep up with game development, I m looking forward for your next games. ;)

manimal 2020-04-20 20:15

maybe add some bullets, it helps with isometric shooting :)

generalsturgeon 2020-04-20 20:15

Well done! Feels like you've got a good base game to develop further from here, adding different enemy types and weapons maybe. Graphics were simple but very well executed. The music was a bit annyoing to be honest, big plus for the options menu though!

play-pause-games 2020-04-20 20:19

An okay endless shooter, my only gripe about the game is that i cant see my bullets, but with more content and polish it would really be great.

metalfist213 2020-04-20 20:26

A really nice idea! I agree with what MarkoPoloDev said. The sounds could have a bit of variation, and it could be nice to see a score, so you can track your skills while playing. Really nice, sense of urgency and stress.

Also cool to see the orthographic camera being used :)

sebby-webby 2020-04-20 22:25

@manimal Thank you! Also I didn't have time to add any bullets, thank you for the advice though! :)

sebby-webby 2020-04-20 22:27

@play-pause-games I understand. This is my second game ever, so I didn't really know how to do it, but I will keep these in mind for my next jam. Thank you!

Good job with your first LD. It was my first one two. Particles were nice. Could of had bullets coming from the player to know where you were shooting.

deniskazantsev 2020-04-21 22:48

Very impressive result for first LD. The possible good ending could add some positive feedback to player. And to be honest music is pretty harsh :)

Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Really nice! Difficulty scaled smoothly and sound effects were cool

klark007 2020-05-04 10:21

Really fun. I just sometimes couldn't judge where I was shooting at. Visible bullets or lines would have helped to know your position relativ to the enemies (maybe bit more feedback if hit)

lazzydev72 2020-05-05 17:26

I was fun I like it. this is my First Time enreing in LudumDare and also first time finished a game. :v: Keep it up.

nate-wec 2020-05-06 12:38

Quick thing that might help your game, add some bullets or a muzzle perhaps? Some kinda line that shows where your shooting better would really help.

desertmaw 2020-05-06 15:33

I think the music could be a little bit less white noisy and repetitive. Furthermore I would recommend a visual feedback for the projectiles as it feels unfinished and it's important in games to have and feel causality.
