What's the start button? Can't seem to get past the menu lol

armytag 2020-04-21 02:19

Very fun! It's not clear that ENTER is the 'Start' button, but otherwise controls are great. Liked the artwork and audio, although the outline on the mushroom sprite makes them stand out and seem important, whereas the actual enemies and goal don't stand out as much visually. Otherwise great job!

boxedmeatrevolution 2020-04-21 02:22

Start with Enter ;) Fun platformer! I thought the difficulty was well thought out. Not too challenging, a few tricky parts, but in the end we were able to complete all the levels and save the circuit!

camden-obertop 2020-04-21 02:24

@majorleegay the start button seems to be enter on keyboard

Starting the game was a little trouble some. The art work was my favorite. Nice levels and just the right difficulty.

camden-obertop 2020-04-21 02:25

Very fun game! Definitely reminds me of something like either "I want to be the Guy" or "I want to be the Boshy." I love the tight platforming controls that are very responsive. You obviously chose the platforming mechanic, and decided to refine your gameplay to feel tight and well-planned. Good job!

I played through all the levels and had a good time! I like that you make jumping on the enemies part of the platforming challenge. The controls feel pretty good, nice work!

Thank you for making the electron look like megaman.

baconeta 2020-04-21 06:19

A really fun game to play all the way through, although I really think it could be improved by having a timer taken and number of deaths on the final screen. This way you could have some reason to play through more than once :). The only rating I struggled with is graphics, because I can see you tried really hard to keep consistency and style but your tutorial screen is drawn in mspaint and it hurts my soul.

fireshake 2020-04-21 13:56

Thank you all for your feedback! @majorleegay As some people already wrote you can start with ENTER @baconeta The Tutorial screen was made in the last hour, so that was definitely a planning mistake^^

Very nice platformer game. I think level 3 was maybe too difficult for the third level.

battlecat 2020-04-21 15:18

Cute game. The best thing about it was the level design which I thought was quite good.

quinn-patrick 2020-04-21 15:34

Great graphics and audio with solid platforming controls, nicely done. I will say that the levels seem weirdly ordered in terms of difficulty, and the game is overally quite easy. The whole package is all around solid, though, so good job.

Most of the pixel art is nicely done and share the same color palette and resolution, but the character's art is a bit out of place. The player character is about half of the size that I feel it should be. The controls seemed to be working as intended and intuitive, so that's good. The music in the menu started out extremely loud, and then became quieter during game play. Thanks for sharing your work in the game jam. Good luck and best to you!

grizzliusmaximus 2020-04-22 09:12

The aesthetics of this game are really good. The controls still needs some adjustments but its a lot better than most I've tried. I found the levels to be the right difficulty but I would prefer it to be even harder (don't listen to me though, I'm sure most won't like a greater challenge). Really enjoyed playing your game!

god-colo 2020-04-27 11:21

Great pixel art! I love how smooth the platformer controls are! Excellent Level Design where we have to make use of enemies to pass the level! Greato Jobu!

ismael-rodriguez 2020-04-27 19:54

Pretty solid game. I like the speed of the character. Level design is good for such a simple little game, though I do have a couple nitpicks. My 1 suggestions would be to try to keep the scale of all the graphics 1:1, rather than having pixel art with a variety of resolutions.

alexbljack 2020-05-02 12:21

Very nice job! Enjoied both pixel art and music. Adding some optional collectibles on levels could add some addional challenge.
