I enjoyed this entry, really nice mood and I liked the idea of having to solve the puzzles without killing any of the creatures.

I can't pass the third level (I mean I stand in front of door and nothing happens ;)), but still I enjoyed this game! I love rats, they remind me this creepy creatures from The Plague Tale xD
i liked the gong, when solving a level
@kirke Make sure that none of the enemies died. The door will close if you anything dies and you won't be able to advance. I'll make that more clear in the description.
nice concept for the theme, ambient music is spot on good job
Good puzzle game! The concept was also pretty unique! Overall, this is a really good jam entry! I also liked how the rocks felt pretty heavy from a gameplay point of view!
I think the mood of this was very well done, and it fits the theme pretty nicely. I think the first few levels were pretty good. The level where you have to basically time a jump to get through was where it started to lose some of the charm for me on the level design. I also don't know if I like the concept of letting the player continue after a lose state is hit (i.e. killing an enemy). In particular, the level where you have to push the block down to stop the enemy from killing itself... if the enemy dies off-screen, it may be difficult to know why the door closed... the only indicator really is a sound effect, and if your sound is off, then you would have no idea.
@doomshmuck Thanks for the feedback. This was my first time making a game and level design was something I definitely could use more practice with. I did originally have the player fail immediately after an enemy died, but I thought closing the door would be more thematic.
I really like the idea of not killing enemies. It fits the theme perfectly.
Good game) I can not go beyond 3 levels and still great work!
I love the take on the theme, but I really dislike how moving the character feels. The jump animation is too slow and either too high or not high enough, pushing the stones feels too slow, the physics feel slightly off.
I appreciate the effort though, and I really like the idea.
Neat idea. Sometimes the block physics would stop me from progressing (I think on the 4th level). It is definitely a cool idea and really goes against the typical goals of a platformer. The droning music really fits the mood. Good job!
I came to the level where i had to avoid the spiders coming down the stairs, i had to start meditating because all i wanted to do was to kill the spiders haha, is this one possible?!? also i wish you had the ability to drag the stones, there where some physics issues around them, like the stone getting stuck in the pipe on one of the earlier levels where i was supposed to save the spider inside the pyramid. Also it got stuck in the ground at one point, i had to push it back some, then give it some momentum.
also in the first level where you have a spider along with a set of spikes it did not die, it just kept roaming in the pit of spikes, so i let him!
there's also a rouge white pixel in your player sprite in the bottom right corner
Nice game! I like the concept, and the levels design was pretty good. However, I found the levels where you had to push the blocks to prevent the enemies from dying and the staircase level to be a little bit too challenging. Overall, great work!
Good idea to do the opposite of whats usually excepted : not to kill the ennemies ! I had some trouble in the level with the first flying non ennemy, sometimes i just couldnt move the second stone. Nice music too.
I find the philosophical side of the game really nice, finding a way to fit the theme in the ways of the Buddhism. However, i think the whole game needs more polishing to match such original idea.
Nevertheless, i had quite fun trying to figure out how to proceed through each level.
Good job!
I tried the HTML5 version using Chrome on a Mac. It did not work. It produced this error message:
call_indirect to a null table entry (evaluating 'Module["asm"]["Hi"].apply(null, arguments)')
I couldn't get past the "Beware of spiders" level where they drop down on the same stairs that I had to climb.
I couldn't beat the spiders stairs, I am not the only one
That's a good start but you will need to persevere to turn it to a really good game, you should playtest more and fix the problems (level, balancing, I went out of bounds, clarity etc.)
Good luck
@snowirbis @lakrits @kekkodude Thanks for the feedback on the spider level. It's the last real level in the game so I wanted it to be challenging. It sounds like I went a little too far. This is my first completed game ever, so the feedback about difficulty and level balance is very helpful.
This is a clever idea executed completely. However like the people above I thought it was sometimes too intense or finicky for a game with inevitably unpolished graphics and physics.
