Cute and well done, took like 100 attempts to beat, won't spoil the ending!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → QUBOR The Cubic Robot

@xk-the-name That is amazing. Glad that you finished game and saw the ending :) Thanks!
should make it harder by not being able to hold the buttons down
@njm-games nice idea, but not sure that it wouldn't be annoying
Loved it! Very well done game. Very nice music and graphics. I loved the little guy
Very cute! I enjoy the music. The facial expressions on the robot are very endearing
On the one hand, I can't finish this and so I hate it and it's stupid and video games are stupid, but on the other I am endlessly charmed by this cube robot and his little face and I want him to do well. Great stuff.
This was super fun and very silly. The death screen is just gold. The fact that his eyebrows turn at an angle when you die is hilarious. Love the unconventional moving mechanic. Presents the challenge of the game like QWOP without being as hard as QWOP. My only feedback is you could have taken a few minutes out to choose some textures or simple particle effects for some of the objects like the flying balls. I'm not sure if you're familiar with unity's particle system but its really easy to use and just throw on some rising red particles for lava or have some stuff follow behind the balls to really sell how fast they move through the air, etc. Great work!
Didn't quite make it to the end, takes more patience and skill than I have but overall very simplistic and finished feeling. The audio work was really good for setting the mood as well.
The music and graphics were cool and I thought the idea of the game was interesting, but maybe a leveling system would make the game a little more broken up? I understand that the game is supposed to be difficult but it shouldn't be frustrating. Anyways, good submission!
A Shyamalan-level twist at the end there. I had blast with this, every time the death music came on and Qubor's face became slightly concerned I broke down laughing. Reminds me of QWOP and yes, while you can hold the button's down, there's definitely still some physics-based fun to be had!
This is really cute, love the low poly and the music!
Cute little game with a 10/10 death screen.
This is so cute. I love the dramatic slo-mo effect when you fall over, lol. The physics and the fall-detection are a little wonky but I think it adds to the charm and sorta makes it more immersive in a way. Nice job. Making it to the end was very satisfying!
Yai, Beat it! Gotta say it was a lot harder than I thought it would be, in the end what ended up working best for me is keep one leg down and go just with the other down :D
Game is well made, reminds me of a QWOP, difficulty is also well done, even if sometimes I felt I died for no reason :P Only thing I would change is that I would like to restart the game by pressing A or L as well, since I am playing on a laptop and tapping on the mouse everytime is annoying (But that"s a smmall complaint, well done!)
OH MY GOSH! My favorite so far... I love the mechanics, the idea and the execution. Really REALLY well done. When I read the concept I thought it was going to feel clunky, but it was super fun. I played it while on hold with the bank and made that hold time a breeze, so thanks for that. This is the first Ludum Dare I take part in and I see I have SO much to learn... your game is a testament of that. I haven't finished it yet, got to the home stretch and died, but I will. Really well done!
@blackquiltro @reid-willis @otterdisgrace Thanks guys! I really happy that robot became nice character.
@adam-konig Thanks for review! I really was inspired here by Bennett Foddy games a lot. As for effects and particles, I have good experience with it but hadn'y enough time to implement them as I wanted and besides that I think it could be distracting details. You have great game too!
@demogorgon @ryfi Sad a little that you didn't complete game and didn't heard ending poem, but thanks for review!
@madalaski @bbkate98 @rngames @ghast-neoh I can't describe how I was happy to read your comments. Thanks for playing!
@multiplexor Thanks for beating the game! Technique of one finger/leg is totally valid) As for restart, there is undocumented ability to force restart by pressing [R], sorry for hiding it.
@guipuyol Thanks a lot! I'm really happy that game touched you. I hope we'll see each other on one of future LD!
I really wanted to win. I really did. I still do. But I can't play this anymore. (I mean that in the best way :) )
Graphics and music were charming! They worked so well together. I would have liked to have some method of turning. Maybe there was one with a combination of the two legs that would have worked but I never found it.
Checkpoints would be a blessing, but I'm assuming being frustrated is part of the charm.
What would have been great is to let me restart the game by pressing space. I preferred the keyboard to the mouse but I had to use the mouse every time I lost (which was a lot).
I'll be coming back to finish it!
@minibobbo Thanks for playing! Actually reaction to difficulty still surprises me: a lot of people saying that the game is too easy but a lot of people also saying that the game is unbeatable :)
As for restart, actually game has ability to force restart by pressing [R], but unfortunately I didn't mentioned it inside game, only in description.
