The music and sound effects are great and fit the game. Graphics are good and clear, but even though this game's art styles differs a lot from other games, which is good, I think the graphical style doesn't exactly fit the gameplay, maybe you should play around with different graphical styles, If you are thinking of continuing the development of the game. This game has a lot of potential :D What I really liked about this game, is that the gameplay mechanics here were new for me, but still they were easy and quick to learn.
Why make player start from the level one each time?
Nice music and sound effects. Very challenging, perhaps too challenging early on, would be nice with a gentler difficulty curve. The platform mechanics were frustrating sometimes (for example if you jump to catch an orb and collide with the side of the platform as it appears). I like the concept, it's unique and a great fit for an arcade game. With a bit more tinkering and polish I could see this being addictive. Well done!
This is really nice. The controls are responsive. The music is great. It has a nice level of difficulty. It would be cool if falling to the ground wasn't an insta-death, though, since you kind of need to take a leap of faith sometimes. Overall, great job!

Crisp visuals and a sleek execution, as well as wonderful audio (even though it's rightfully supposed to go unrated). The twist on the theme is interesting, and the experience is solid once you get into the swing of things (and notice that cannonballs don't hit you when you're on the platform "beneath" them.
Unfortunately, the game suffers from a couple of major flaws: unlocking a new platform sometimes requires making a leap of faith into the depths, and in some level configurations you're able to activate a platform that's _above_ you, making this leap both necessary and 100%-deadly if you jump from too low; there's no guidance as to where the next platform will spawn. Given that you can take 10 cannon blasts, give or take, but falling into the void is an instant death, the game suffers once again when it forces players back to level 1 upon dying. (Even if _the game_ doesn't suffer, _I,_ who never play platformers, suffer. It's largely one and the same.) This ends up marring the experience, or at least artificially imposes a higher difficulty than one would normally anticipate; note that this isn't a bad thing or a downside, it's simply a note that your mileage may vary.
All in all, this game is a solid entry that may or may not be to your tastes.

@lumos Totally agree on the difficulty aspects, particularly on the leap of faith bit. Probably should have shown a dotted outline or something before the platform actually spawns in so the player knows what they're getting into. As far as forcing players back to level one, I was mostly hoping that the random level configurations would lessen the frustration (Since you're not playing the same level 1).
@human-writes-code Thanks, agree on the leap of faith bit!
@jakobthequizguy Thanks for playing. Didn't end up tweaking the difficulty quite as much as I probably should have -- at the moment it just adds the cannons faster :)
@baturinsky The levels are endless, so I needed to force a restart somewhere. Just one life might have been too harsh, though!
@wie Thanks for playing! The visual style was mostly a spur of the moment thing, somewhat inspired by the game "Downwell" (Though nowhere near as polished!)
It was fun but it would be better with more variation.

I don't know if it's me who is too bad to this kind of game, or if it was kind of hard to win levels XD Even the first one I restarted it like 10 times ahaha
Great game overall, the character looks cute while being very simple, the music is great and the game is fun. Good job !

Funny game. I liked the idea, beautiful graphics and music. With difficulty I only reached level 2

Very well thought out game overall. The graphics are beautiful and the challenge is fun. Only thing is that I took too long to understand that I'm supposed to collect the orange bubbles instead of avoid them. Maybe if they were a plus sign it would be clearer.

cool idea. I was confused at first, the bubble that gives new platforms has a sort of 'fire' icon on it, I thought that was something I should avoid at first. After figuring out the rules it was pretty fun. The most exciting part is when you have to make a 'leap of faith' and jump tp the bubble, trusting it will grant a platform below you :)
Platform RNG can be brutal when you need to get out of cannonfire *now*, but otherwise this was a cute little arcade game!
I really want to like this game, but it has some issues that mar the whole experience. Primarily, I would really like if there was some indication of where the next platform would spawn, and secondly that falling off was way more punishing than getting shot. With more work this could turn into something pretty cool though!

I really like the old school atmosphere of the game (the music is well chosen, the visuals are very good). But I think the game is a little too punitive when you fall into a void. However, it remains a very good experience, congratulations for your work :)
