cant play as it asks you to put a thruster onto your ship and the only thing I have wont work and looks like a Gatling gun, please fix cause this looks fun.

@inventivum-games The game always spawns enough parts needed for you to build a spaceship. There are 4 basic parts you need to collect. Try zooming out, the parts you need should spawn nearby.

Nice art works. And there are also some shortcomings. 1. No much changes/award at the beginning of the game, because there is a huge space and few collectable parts. 2. The control mode of the spaceman is not compatiable with current gameplay. To get bigger field of view I have to zoom out to max so that I can search new parts continuously, but the charater is too small to figure out his direction at this moment. So that I need zoom in to observe the direction before manipulating my spaceman. 1&2 meet together make it a little boring at the beginning. Anyway, I like the story backgound concept, good job.

Some tips for players: 1) the three parts you need are near spawn, just restart the game if you get lost before getting them. 2) W and S are forward / backward, and A and D are spin one way or another. 3) You can mine asteroids for parts by destroying them. 4) Use the mouse wheel to scroll along the parts list. 5) you can only have one hull at a time, remove the old one when you upgrade. 6) Turn down your volume :wink:

Couldn't figure out how to get shields charged though. Also, I felt like I was always rotating too slow or too fast. Would have also liked to combine hulls for huge ships. Adrift.png

Ok so I just played your game and the first thing that I really loved are the controls ! Pretty hard to understand at the beginning but after that god, it feels so cool ! When unzooming you really feel like you're alone in this deep, dark and big space. The feeling is right where it should be and that is great !

Now, I must admit that the enemies just destroyed my ship XD They fire way more than me and, more over, my own bullets collide with their bullets, which makes it impossible for me to hit them. I think you should look into this issue if you want more "win conditions" ^^

Anyway, the idea and the game in itself is great, you can be proud of you for achieving this in such a short time !

Great idea and good implementation. I think if the beginning parts were a little more obvious that would be helpful! Good submission!

So maybe I'm just bad but the controls of the ship make it so difficult and frustrating. This is the big thing that degraded my experience of the game. Other than that I really love how the game is presented (little intro), the fit with the theme and the customizability of the ship! This is really cool. Congrats to a great work overall!!

Nice execution! Made it to wave 7. It looks like I only picked up right wings - never left. It still flew great! I appreciated that the bullets were heat-seeking. I never picked up a better gun, which would have been nice.

Fun game.

I had fun playing it. To be honest, I don't think it's very innovative. But hey, it was fun!

Tried playing the game again after I died, and I was met with this message:

``` ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ ERROR in action number 1 of Draw Event for object obj_spaceship:
Trying to draw non-existing sprite. at gml_Object_obj_spaceship_Draw_0 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_obj_spaceship_Draw_0 (line -1) ```
But overall, I was interested in this one because it seemed quite similar to my team's entry. Overall, I liked being able to zoom in and out of the area. The physics felt a little...drifty?? which fits the whole "drifting aimlessly in space" mood. :joy: It was quite tedious to steer around, though. The sound effects were fitting.
My one major gripe is that the time between waves seems too long. The only time I really need in between waves is putting together the parts of my spaceship, which pauses the timer and causes it to reset, so I'm just sitting around waiting for a while in this vast area. I thought the asteroids were destructible, but that appears to not be the case. Maybe they take an absurd amount of bullets. :thinking:
It's interesting that the missiles are attracted to the cursor rather than being homing missiles that seek out the enemy. I felt like that might have been more intuitive.
I really enjoy the menu screen, particularly when you click "eject" and the astronaut slowly floats away. Nice visuals overall.
Glad you enjoyed it @pincushion You can flip any part to be the left part in the editor using the F key. It should say it in the top left hand corner of the editor as well.
Nice game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Bucux0B4E5k
Awesome game, I had a lot of fun playing it, and I though I was doing quite well too, until a couple of big ships with lasers destroyed me :smile:
velvetlobster 2019-10-10 00:54
this feels like Nimbatus, a game I have played a lot and still find there are more opportunities around that genre, was that an inspiration?
velvetlobster 2019-10-10 00:54
nice work on this btw
