Nice work for the time allotted. I hope you plan on expanding upon it!

vuvuzuellainc 2019-04-30 03:53

Great job! Graphics is giving the atmosphere of this game, very well executed! The gam match with the theme. Some improvments could be done on how the game work. Liked it, keep the good work.

kichex 2019-04-30 03:54

@vuvuzuellainc thanks! I'm looking forward to make some more fixes and a better balanced version next week for a post-jam version!

madbarron 2019-04-30 03:56

Great concept. Some more polish would help me know what was happening :D I got game over and I don't know why :(

enjoy-the-tale 2019-04-30 03:57

The art is so beautiful!

greon 2019-04-30 04:02

Really loved the concept, with some improvements it could become a really cool game, i would look forward it, good work!

kichex 2019-04-30 04:08

Thanks @greon I agree with you, I have so many things I want to add/fix in the game!!! You can follow me on Itch.io if you want to see more of it!

kichex 2019-04-30 04:12

@madbarron remember that every move you take makes you more vulnerable. Probably you were short on sap? I'm noticing that people feel confused if they lose after getting too low on sap and then get a friendly unit killed which in turns takes sap from them and kills them. I'll probably fix that next. Thanks for playing!

iferit 2019-04-30 05:34

Great Idea! I hope you develop this further!

koni 2019-04-30 13:12

I think the game looks really beautiful and has promise. My only gripe is that it took me a while to understand how to play it. However, with the time given I understand it's difficult to make stuff like tutorials :) I could see this being a really polished title with more time, ai and different environments. Maybe kinda like a Might Of Magic game?

jesusache 2019-04-30 20:58

I think for a 2player game, calling one of the players "Enemy" is kinda misleading. The art is gorgeous, and I'm sure I'd enjoy the gameplay a bit more if I wasn't playing against myself :p But it's still a cool experience regardless. I think adding a bit more feedback regarding the tile you are currently activating because some characters cover some of the tiles above them, and also the GUI could do a better job of knowing how close you are to the winning or losing, because I lost some games with 50 sap left and I wasn't sure why. Some small tweaks here and there could make this game fully realize that potential.

@jesusache @koni Thanks your feedback! :D I'm glad you liked it

bob ross tree summon bugs.

prideling 2019-05-01 02:41

@alphazeba Well that's a solid tagline :,D

eduardo-yukio 2019-05-01 03:31

The art is really good, everything is beautiful and polished. The music is nice too. But the gameplay is not so good.

I didn't understand how things worked, there is no tutorial, I thought that my tree could hit his tree, the summon that costs 20 does just a little bit more damage than the one that costs 5, I lost suddenly 2 times, really didn't get what happened. The interface is clunky, I had to click several times on the characters to make it appear the menu on top of them.

I think with more time spent to polish the design and the technical parts, this game could work well.

lyrcaxis 2019-05-01 06:12

I just realized it's supposed to be a multiplayer game.. Name the trees "Player 1" and "Player 2"

adam-clayden 2019-05-01 12:39

Music is great and the art looks nice. The enemy's turn should be renamed though as I thought it was an AI at first. Maybe some additional instructions on how to play as well since I feel like I shouldn't move my main character, but instead summon things.

ryan-wine 2019-05-01 23:06

This game looks great. It needs to be marked in the game that its 2 player and yeah that the one player shouldnt be called enemy, but it looks like a solid game. Are you supposed to be able to summon multiple units in one turn? i did that once and then they couldnt move afterwards.

Keep on this one, it looks like itll be great!

kichex 2019-05-02 13:03

Thankd for your feedback @ryan-wine !

euler-moises 2019-05-02 18:09

a little difficult to understand what to do in the beginning, but once you get the jam it gets easier. Congratulations for the game. The art was very well done.

I also made a game for it's jam. try, rate and comment. Please.

Pretty impressive! I feel a tutorial screen would have been useful Also, the hitbox to select the different chess parts feel a bit wonky and hard to click on But beyond that, it's a solid game for a LD - nicely done thanks for sharing :-D

glimaleite 2019-05-18 14:29

First of all, Congrats for the entry! The game looks good and with a very creative art style.

As everyone else is saying, it was hard to understand what was actually happening. I thought it was a single player at first, which made me a bit frustrated after I realized it was a multiplayer game. Still, after messing around with it a little bit, I was able to play it, even if it was like a mad man playing chess against himself.

Congrats!
