Oh my this is awesome! Similar to my take, in that it's both bullet hell, and you trade hp for upgrades at the start. This is very cool tho, and I love the graphics. Good job my guy!

I pleased to be greated by a menu, most of the games i rated didn't have one, including mine :P and it's animated :O ! And damn those bosses have more health then Terraria's MoonLord XD i stopped after getting the Slime Boss to 10k HP my gun was just way too slow. Your pixel art is simple and good looking and it suits the theme quite nicely good job

So cool, Graphics is so damn cool and the idea for this game is really solid. I think the bullets could be kinda faster to gain better experience while playing.

Anyway, good job!

EDIT. Cockroaches' movement system is the best!

It worked! Lots of great stuff on this one. The start screen is awesome. Good music. The pixel art is solid, there are some simple things you could do to juice it. For example, I can barely see my own bullets because they are tiny and blend in with the background, make them bigger and brighter! Your bullet speed and fire rate is also slow even with the smg with the fire rate bonus. Turn everything up a few notches, always better to have too much then not enough.

Design wise I felt it needed some work. The choice at the beginning of a weapon was nice but the gameplay didn't evolve after that. My first run I grabbed the sniper rifle and beat the giant slime boss and a few more levels then I honestly got bored and let them kill me so I could try a different weapon. I didn't use the dodge mechanic at all.

The enemy ai and movement could be more interesting and reactive to the player. For example the slime and deeroach just move towards you in slightly different ways, you don't need both. For the slime boss I just shot him from a distance and it was underwhelming, the lizard things were more fun to fight. Another important thing that seems missing is I didn't know what round I got too or how well I did.

I had fun though, I love shoot em ups! I think with a tweaking pass you could make the gameplay super fun. Congrats!

Nice game. Enjoyed the different weapons and enemy variety. Could use a tiny bit more of that elusive "game-feel" (muzzle flash, etc.) Great job.

Nice idea and execution. I would appreciate if the basic mechanism (trade your life for the weapons) was explored and implemented more extensively, but I liked it as a proof of concept. I enjoyed​ the music and the pixel art, even though there are some things that would be helpful (e.g. better audio and visual feedback). It was, overall, enjoyable experience, thank you!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere in this game created by the music and the way the enemies chased you, made for a pretty tense playing experience. I do think the theme interpretation was a little bit unoriginal but it was implemented well, though the gun fire felt a little underwhelming. Nice job overall though!

Love this! It's a lot of fun and everytime I die I catch myself wanting to play again and do better and select different weapons to see if I can go farther (I can't defeat the big slime dude :P ). I just feel like the game could use more visual feedback for damage, maybe some red particles, a lot of the time I'm not sure if my bullets are having much effect on the enemies. I really like the bullet hell aspect, it's pretty neat and rare to see! Great job!

I really liked the idea of using your health to buy weapons and make up your own combination of weapons to then fight the enemies. The shooting felt a bit too slow paced and your weapons all feel a bit too weak though. Still, it was fun to replay it with different weapons and see the results you get. Cool entry!

Really nice! Best top down shooter I have seen this jam, very much liked the simplistic graphics. The enemies and the weapons were well balanced, the gameplay was dynamic but not too fast paced. I also liked to search around the arena for enemies. Well done, cool game!

I liked it but controls made it difficult for me but it was on my part because I have an azerty keyboard.
