quite a interesting game, has a lot of potential for further development. i like how it was randomized with each play through, i just wish it showed who was killed while i was trying to work out who did it.

spierek 2018-12-04 02:58

Thanks! We've had plans for showing that but unfortunately we ran out of time. If I have some time tomorrow, I'll try to put out a post-jam version that fixes that :)

sanjeev 2018-12-04 03:01

Seriously an amazing game. Love the aesthetic and paranoid mood, but agree with @auzrial in that it would be nice to see who died the previous day while investigating. But really awesome work guys!

spierek 2018-12-04 03:29

https://afterburn.itch.io/silvercliff-killings - updated the game to v1.01, now it should show deaths in proper order which should help you when comparing testimonies.

The aspect of choices consequences are really interesting in this game. Also it's very pleasant to the eye. Good job.

rolly 2018-12-04 12:16

@spierek Edit : web version works fine now !

The only "bad point" is that it is not-so-innovative, but you already warned me in the description! Apart of that, it's very good, it's replayable, visuals and audio are a perfect match. Great work!

spierek 2018-12-04 12:18

@rolly Yup, I was just uploading that; should be working fine now :)

anfaas1618 2018-12-04 12:31

nice game man the graphics are just out of this world 5/5

spierek 2018-12-04 12:42

@anfaas1618 Thanks, it's all @wrnk's work :)

wrnk 2018-12-04 12:43

@anfaas1618 thank you, glad you like them! :>

jamesdude 2018-12-04 12:46

Really enjoyed playing this one, definitely could be expanded for example to search crime scenes for clues

darkanice 2018-12-04 12:47

An amazing game, don't really have any negatives I can call! Good job!

tpamir 2018-12-04 13:00

I am up for one of the comments above too. I can be expanded. Loved the graphics keep up the good work!

dwam 2018-12-04 13:14

This was fun. I loved the art. Sometimes some of my deductions felt like taking a lucky guess, but I feel like that was almost by design. Having to make choices you're not comfortable with, giving weight to the sacrifice.

Good job!

dunin 2018-12-04 14:52

Love this type of game and mood is great.

That being said, maybe I was lucky, but I feel like it's possible to find the culprit every night, which reduces the gameplay... But each night was a great little puzzle nevertheless...

(also, two fullscreen buttons is too much, disable the itch's one...)

spierek 2018-12-04 15:09

@dunin Thanks for the feedback, forgot about that button :)

surreali 2018-12-04 15:58

Awesome experience! Loved how it brought me back to the past when I used to play this kind of games with my friends. The song and art are gorgeous too.

Fantastic entry! I really liked figuring out the way the system worked so I could beat it. And from what I understand you're masking it very well with the dialogue that it makes for a very compelling game! Graphics are beautiful, by the way. Stellar work!

My only gripe, and this is a small one, is that there were a few bugs where it said "*{own location}*" instead of a location.

spierek 2018-12-04 18:57

@papercookies Thanks for letting us know, we'll look into it :)

roka-josh 2018-12-04 19:07

Outstanding game, checks all the boxes with the theme, graphics, sound, and mood especially. Absolutely brilliant, amazing work!

kloscunha 2018-12-04 19:07

This is really impressive looking. Great presentation. Great mood. I liked how the simple characters made me care about them. I didn't want the husband and wife to be killed and separated from wach other.

However, once I figured out how to spot the killer, it became easy. Still, a great entry for a jam!

Oh, and I got a bug where a character's name didn't appear, only the tag for his name {personFullName}.

bgamedev 2018-12-04 19:52

Wow, nice game, you definitely worked a lot to polish it.

kosmosos 2018-12-04 20:12

I was racking my brain on this really hard, but I spotted only one of them, great game overall!

fzillo 2018-12-04 20:34

I like your game a lot. It has a very good mood and the soundtrack is very well chosen. The artstyle is also well done, I wished I could have seen the persons portraits and the locations a little closer to experience it better.

In the beginning I was missing a few more markers to keep track of the conflicting statements and in the end I would have liked to have gotten a reveal, who the bad guys were (I got 2 lizzardpeople) - that way I would have known what I did wrong. Otherwise a very polished game! Great job!

spierek 2018-12-05 07:25

@jamesdude - That could be interesting ;)

@dwam - That was the idea, glad it came through :)

@kloscunha - I'll try to figure out a fix for this, thanks for letting me know.

@fzillo - Thanks! We've had plans for adding character bios to the game where you could preview the person's info and portrait, but alas, we ran out of time :)

@darkanice @surreali @roka-josh @bgamedev @kosmosos - Really glad you enjoyed it!

goldenmelon 2018-12-06 19:32

I liked mood of the game so much. First time played game of this genre.

pedro-rosa 2018-12-06 22:56

Cleave and interesting game, a good detective experience after all.

2018-12-13 15:15

Very well written game. I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/8tDu1hDasJ8

arvejeitor 2018-12-14 12:55

Great game! The art is excellent and the mood and soundtrack are spot on
