Yay!!

Super fun little platformer, actually a lot more challenging than I initially thought. I wonder if the leg animation doesn't come in the way of being able to correctly predict where the player will land.

Anyhow, loved the simplistic art and controls were really great! Music was redundant...

Great job!

xyntell 2018-08-13 06:20

I didn't quite get where is that "room that shrinks and can kill you"... But I appreciate that you put some work in it. I've noticed that you made some animations too.

aret24 2018-08-13 06:23

Thanks !!! If you stay a while room become smaller and smaller!!!

2nd slime in the first slime stage doesn't cause restart.

Good tutorial stages. But feels like there is a difficulty spike at the first stage with... well... spikes. Or maybe I am just bad at games.

Also, not really seeing the theme happening. It's mentioned in the very first stage, and full disclosure I didn't go thru the whole game, but do the walls actually close in on you? If so, maybe they need to happen in earlier stages.

Thanks !!! I mean if you dont fast enought to get key and then go to door the room(Big black square with square hole in it that shrinks)will kill you!

Very fun game, amazing graphics. Managed to play it through without dying once (however I will now go die on purpose to see what that looks like ^^). The giant key was also very funny.

Like others already said, music became a bit irritating quickly. Still, very fun game overall!

aret24 2018-08-13 06:41

Thanks !!!! Next time i managed to make better game!!!

I adore that this is hosted on MediaFire in an age when most people seem to have gone to itch or GameJolt.

The platforming is OK. In some of the levels I was able to wall-kick off the gaps in the shapes and skip a few parts.

I love the part where the key is huge.

The room shrinking into the void doesn't add as much as I had hoped, it's kind of a time limit on each room but it doesn't affect how I think about the platforming stuff. What if it were more like the room changing over time, opening some possibilities and closing others? So I have to find a route that reaches the right places at the right times, as well as having a time limit.

Thanks!!!

The slime sprites remind me of Rick & Morty

Great platformer game, but I really hated the music of it, was kinda annoying.

kyle-kaehler 2018-08-13 07:18

Just had alot of fun playing your game!!!The simplicity was great!

ethan-nachreiner 2018-08-13 07:21

Fun little game! I liked the ending screen (although my heart skipped a beat thinking it was a loss meme). My favorite thing about the platforming was how you would jump farther when going up slopes. My least favorite thing about the platforming was how it lacked certain programming tricks that make platforming feel good (like coyote time). The art style was.... menacing. All in all, it's a nice game!

erendelous 2018-08-13 07:23

Not really sure if we're running out of something in this game, but it's great platfrmer with some interesting things anyway)

alexander-tan 2018-08-13 07:24

Hey man, your game's quite good.

vivek-sharma20 2018-08-13 10:45

Good job on completing the game. Art style is consistent which is good. Theme .. not so sure :)

Cute little game ! My main criticisms are that the key's collider isn't set as trigger, which can lead to unfair deaths, and also that the "running out of space" constraint never was really visible to me. I only saw the black wall in the first level, and I never saw it again after that. But I had fun overall :D

dsthedragon 2018-08-13 11:55

the game was fun. really enjoyed it tho the tiny box were hard to land and only noticed the black hole once

eric-kulbiej 2018-08-13 13:11

Nice game, enjoyed it very much. Keep it up!

Pretty solid platformer. Music sounded like the fanfare to my 7am work mornings.

xwilarg 2018-08-14 01:07

Nice game but I think it look more like a classical plateformer, I didn't really see that wall thing except in the tutorial.

agentparsec 2018-08-15 07:08

Nice game and fun to play, I would say that the 'running out of space' aspect was rarely encountered. I saw it on the first level, but the rest I played through fast enough that I never even saw the shrinking field.

suchista 2018-08-15 18:25

You can win the second level without using a box :P Art is funnily terrible, the shrinking was too slow I think, but controls felt nice and it was a fun game overall :)

hdmmy 2018-08-17 03:07

This game is a little bit hard to me, but the graphics make me laugh!

stefan-jovanovic 2018-08-17 17:45

Nice platformer with good level design. It got hard really fast and I liked that. Overall good entry for your first ludum dare!

antonin 2018-08-18 09:22

Cool little game. Really liked the programmer art and I think that it makes the game cute.

mikethewayne 2018-08-19 13:34

Fun platformer game with great physics and cute character art! I did see the closing walls once, on the first level because I *cough*fell off*cough*, but I didn't feel that it anything to the game. It could've been a brilliant implementation of the theme if, instead of falling to your death, you fell into a pit that would've taken time to get back out of, increasing the chance that the walls would close in on you. This way, the game would've appropriately punished you for your mistakes, making it more tense if you did mess up, instead of merely placing you back at the start to 'try again', without penalty. It would still be giving you a chance to complete the level, only it would be more difficult, as the walls would be much closer, plus it would've tied in with the theme, as you'd then have less room to work with. But that is just a suggestion on how to improve it. For your first Ludum Dare, you've created a fantastic platformer that's complete and fully functional, has brilliant level design with difficulty that progresses perfectly, and isn't short of levels, either. Overall, an admirable platformer!

yolp900 2018-08-20 21:09

Very cute platformer, really enjoyed it. The graphics are really nice. The one thing I thought could be better is the small nooks you occasionally needed to jump on - maybe they can get a little size boost...
