Got an error message
There should be 'DyingPlanet_Data' folder next to the executable
So I renamed to build_Data to DyingPlanet_Data then it will run. Unfortunalty I got as far as trying to build a furnace but couldnt work out how to place it.
To launch the game, I needed to rename the folder build_Data to DyingPlanet_Data, you may want to reupload it with the correct name. But it's a good entry, I like the visuals and the tiny planet. The first time it was a bit hard to make it while also reading the tutorial, but I made a second try and it was much smoother. Keep up the good work !
You need to rename the folder build_Data to DyingPlanet_Data in order to play. At first I didn't see that the messages on the top right change so I was wondering what to do some sound when the message change would help to notice them. Spamming E to collect things or put them in the buildings was not fun. If spamming was not needed, more visual feed back would have helped.
It's a bit hard to read the tutorial messages while trying to play at the same time - but it's fairly easy to figure out how to win after losing once or twice.
I like how small the planet is, and making it become even smaller is a nice way to fit the theme.
Graphics are cute, but lack of any sound definitively hurts the game.
Still, a really good entry! Just be sure to fix the issue that has been brought up.
@hakro sorry that I gave the same link for all OS but I was a little bit in hurry yesterday .. unfortunately I tested it in my VM and it didn't work (but maybe its just me..I'm very new to Linux) but you can try it yourself if you like.
The game looks beautiful, I love the art style!
The gameplay would be a little more fun if you tightened up the mechanic of gathering ore. Also, I believe the UI for how much of each material you have isnt working - that might just be me though!
Overall good job :)
Nice game! I had a bit of trouble collecting the iron. I had to spam E as it was often only picking it up from certain angles. But apart from that, I like the game and it fits the theme well.
I liked it ! Visually pleasing, and the planet's constant shrinking makes the experience quite intense. Maybe it would have been even better with some sound effects or even music ? Also, being able to pause or have the tutorial before the meteors start crashing on the planet would definitively help to save some time. :D
Anyway, good work !
Very nice for your first entry! a bit of audio would do wonders!
Thank everyone for your nice feedback this is so nice to get response for something you made yourself ๐. And yes I know sound is very important for a good game but unfortunately I managed my time wrong so I didnt have time for sound and music, again sorry for that.
The game is a good idea. Had a lot of problems placing stuff. Seemed to only work some of the time. Other people have mentioned the lack of sound and I also agree with them.
Awesome for first entry :)
@tgb20 yes the placing doesnt worked well when I made the collider small it could happen that you would push in space and when I made it big you are very limeted to places were you can place it.
Lovely art style. Nicely done
Better than the first version of No Man's Sky.
๐thank you @raccoon-js
I think the fuel requirement was way too much even after I got the hang of things. Not very much mechanics going, making it seem that you spent more time on the graphics than gameplay. Maybe the mining should have been holding down E instead of repeatedly pressing E, because my hand eventually got tired of tapping E. Decent entry!
Decent little entry! The graphics were solid (especially the planetshake with every impact ), but the gameplay loop was a little confusing. Took me a bit too long to realize mining was tapping E, not holding it, and the long delay between interactions got me killed the first time 'round when I couldn't build the ship fast enough.
Still, with a little polish, this could be a right fun little time-attack game!
