I really enjoyed this! Definitely worth coming back to and practicing. If I were to suggest anything, I'd suggest being able to discard a player's hand of options, since sometimes you'll be stuck in a lane (the top edge or the bottom edge) and you'll have no options for steering into a different lane no matter what you try.
Well done! I had fun with this one.

maybe having the option to move the inserter left and right would make the items positioning better

this was a pretty cool idea. nice job
Interesting concept, I think it would fit great as mobile game. Simple and effective!

This game is like trying to maneuver an aircraft carrier into the International Space Station by whispering bedtime stories to it.
I love it. My highscore is only like 600 but I will definitely be coming back to surpass that.

Alright this is probably my favorite game of the jam so far! Who knew something so simple could be so fun! Did ya'll have to write special logic to decide what options to give the player? Or is it completely random? My high score is 359 so far :)

Thanks everyone for the great feedback and the kind words. Really appreciate it.
High score was only 349 /:
I tried a good amount of times but my internet is pretty slow so it was really irritating how the page had to reload every time the game restarted.
The audio also kept cutting out for me, but I assume that's just because of slow internet. It also could have benefit from some sound effects.
Anyway, I liked the game itself as it was a lot of fun to play, so good job on completing it!

@TechnoNugget Thanks for playing, the page reloading was a messy fix to an issue we had with restarting the game, due to the time restraints it was all we could do at the time. I heard that people have been experiencing not only the audio cutting or but also sometimes choppy game play. I cant seem to recreate this on my computer but I might be large audio files needing to download.
Wow, what a neat idea! It's actually strange, no one has thought of this before - would be a perfect fit for a mobile game!
The item positioning was sometimes a bit difficult, because to me it often felt the positioner was on top of an obstacle when in fact it was still in front of it. Also sometimes I randomly died without any visible obstacle. Also I felt the music was too tense.
But all in all a very fun and well executed idea and game! Great job, have a fish <3 🐟

Neat idea! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NizAskJCoRk
Good job! Cool game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

A really cool idea. I would have liked to have been able to move the inserter back and forth for a bit more control. Good take on the theme!

What a awesome music!
Surprisingly cool! Got to admit after three tries I never even reached 200 points, but I really dig the concept. Just once I used this yellow, I don't know, glue? On spikes, and while I lost the card, nothing happened and the character seemed to die on the (emtpy) tile behind the spikes. Which was weird. But other than that everything worked fine. The jumping "animation" was a nice touch. And I agree with @matsoj15, great music!

I really loved the idea, but some part of the implementation made the game harder than it should.
I have a really bad memory so forgot what the symbols meant while playing in the firsts runs. Maybe better icons for some of the actions or a label on the cards may have helped me.
I also had problems knowhin wich tile I was placing the stuff.
Overall a gread game idea with great potencial, I did love this game!

I would have loved to see some more card game mechanics, like deck building. The random nature of the levels and cards would often put me into unwinnable situations (or am I missing something?), and the imprecise placer didn't help. Nice game otherwise!
I liked the idea! Though as you probably know, it relies too heavily on RNG  Here are some further suggestions:
- I think it'd be cool if you were able to move the inserter horizontally as well. - You should avoid the player having more than 2 cards of the same effect in their deck. - Maybe space and arrow keys shouldn't be the controls in the web version, since if you have the game not maximized, they'll affect the webpage position. Either that or capture the mouse while the player is playing.
Also I have to mention that the music was okay, but the art is a bit lacking, but I guess you can only do so much alone in 3 days. Good work overall!
