an awesome game. It gets really hectic when there are 50 enemies and an upgrade across the screen!

I love bullet hell style games and this was enjoyable. Only downside was my hands started to hurt after realizing I could spam j faster to shoot faster and it wasn't capped. Super fun

Very good game! The pace was perfect. My only problems were that for a while I thought that shooting a powerup gave it to me, and when I died sometimes I didn't even realise.

From one first-timer to another:

SpaceBadies is a scrolling arcade space shooter which reminds me a lot of the classic Raiden games. You control a spaceship and as you progress by killing enemy ships, the more enemy ships will come after you. The game is simple, yet it feels pretty nice to play and as a first game its great. The graphics, music and visual effects are very fitting, but I’d love for the game to be a little more difficult.

The game is obviously a little unfinished but I’d love to see you continue with this project and add different types of enemies, enemy projectiles, and progression for the player’s own spaceship by adding different weapons. The way I remember it, the difficulty in the classic scrolling arcade space shooter games don’t come from number of enemies, but from number of enemy projectiles. Good job!

good game, felt a little repetitive but it was good

The art and sound are very good, it could use some more content and don't store your games on google. Use itch.io its much better.

Very well done though Congratz and good luck!

Congrats on a successful game! @sondrian did a good job with the music and effects here. Gameplay was fun albeit monotonous after a while. I question the design decision of making the pickups shootable, but maybe there's a good gameplay reason for it.

Thanks for the game! I really like the music and the game was quite challenging but here some suggestions on how you could improve on it:

- Highscore! Maybe even a Highscore table (I died and I didn't even get to look at my score :( ) - Feedback when you get hit (I think it also lacks a sound effect?) - Different enemy behavior

And a HTML5 version (this was made with unity, right?) would've been great as people tend to have issues in downloading a "random" executable from the net :)

Oh most of the things I complained about are in my shoot-em-up too and especially in the compo version :D

An entertaining game with a good presentation. Visuals, audio and the controls are all very nice. Unfortunately there is not enough variety to continue playing for longer (I got bored around 25k points). If you want to continue development, the next steps would be more enemy types, upgrades and some bosses. Nonetheless I enjoyed this a lot, good job!

Good game, fast paced and with tons of adrenaline. The sound helped create the perfect mood. The visual effects were cool too.

I think the connection to the theme is not that clear. The number of badies was increasing but I only saw two sizes of badies, and it didn't evolve from there. I think the game needs a better progression in terms of difficulty to relate better to the theme. A boss would be a cool feature too.

Due to this linear gameplay, one ends up doing the same thing pretty fast, which can get a bit boring. Also, I died and respawned immediatelly, without no warning. I would have liked to at least check my score.

Some hit feedback, like ship or screen turning red, would be nice to have, but not crucial.

Overall it was fun to play, the fast pacedness helps the game shine. Great work :)

Also, we'd love if you played our game :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/santas-factory

Enjoyable shmup, not much content unfortunately. Acceleration on the player's ship makes it hard to navigate, shmup controls need to be extremely tight. Music was rad, although it was a bit in the background. Funny remark, I actually entered a LD game a year or two ago with the exact same name "Space Baddies". Thus, fate has led me to your game!

Good graphics & pretty solid gameplay! Being able to shoot the powerups is frustrating though, it makes the player hesitant to shoot which is probably not what you want in a shmup. Also the movement hitbox for the player felt really big, like I couldn't go back as far as I expected. Could use some more feedback for when you take damage too. Still pretty fun though, nice work!

Actually a very enjoyable game, nice visuals and music. Enemies could be more menacing I guess, at first I didn't realize they were enemies and not powerups or something. And there don't seem to be a point in using alt fire, doesn't seem to do much more than the regular fire, maybe it is just me though.

I really liked this!! This was very fun and had great graphics. Great submission!
