That was a fun experience! I didn't read the controls the first time round playing and I just pushed leaves to the edge of the screen and left them there. I read the controls after that and had a much better time.
The screaming log was very funny.
Other than the high scores not updating I think this game is pretty perfect. It really feels like the Facebook games you play to show that you're better than your friends.
If you have time to check out my entry here's a link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/toy-hero You play as a robot hero of the bedroom, whos got to hide all the other toys in places where mom can't find and clean them away.

Hey! Just a question, what is the point of raking? I felt that I could simply use the stick to push the leaves. Loved the music, loved the logs! Great job :).

@snipera the space bar does the raking, it's good for large piles and pushing leaves off of the screen, thanks for asking :)

Got 106 Personal High Score, and 43 on the leaves side.
I really liked the idea of the game. Also the art and sound is great too! However it is really hard to push leaves outside the frame because of how fast the angry farmer moves.
The moving background also makes it a bit more charming, so thumbs up for that!
Really cool idea that connects really well to the theme. The UI needs some work but overall its pretty good!

Nice game, but hard to control
Simple, but enjoyable ;)
Nice game and chill vibes. Was a little tedious after I got the hang of it (could just walk back and forth without using spacebar) until the logs came.
I about lost my shit at the screaming logs, that was hilarious.
The difficulty ramp is relatively smooth for a while, and then seems to skyrocket all of a sudden after the logs come. I think making it a bit more even would improve the experience.

This game surprise from the moment you read the title. Funny interpretation of the theme and overall nice execution. Only complain it's leaf physics on the edge of the screen, hard to take them out. Overall good job.

Here's my first attempt:

The logs coming down from the top of the screen was great, a really funny way of doing it! Some nice art, particularly the trees in the background. It's a shame the high scores don't save but that's a minor bug. Only other thing would be to polish the UI a little more. Awesome job though, I enjoyed it.
A little hard to control, but definitely a good interpretation of the theme. I'm always a sucker for pixel graphics, but since you asked for feedback in your post, I would work on the start screen/UI a little bit. It does not really match the pixel style.

On my second attempt, I crushed it:

Now for my thoughts: I love the title: Leaf Me Alone. It's a cute little game here, but I learned that I didn't really need to rake once there were a ton of leaves - it was actually more effective to walk (slowly) and push the leaves off - to get a higher leaf score at least. This seemed to make my score on the left increase slower - I guess that's tied to the raking. But, there's a lovely feel to this game, from the boingy log sound to the general concept. Also, in the main menu, where it says "go slow, like in real life" - I got a kick out of that. Anyway, a cute little game.

I like the interaction between the leaves and yet the seem to have some random behaviour. Also it is cool how realistically hard it is to move all leaves in the beginning even if you want to clean them all off. It looks like you managed well to pick a reasonable sized game idea and work an all aspects and deliver on all aspects like graphics, audio, mechanics etc.
I'm did not seem to have the same experience as others. For a long time I was just pushing leaves off screen after realizing that the rake doesn't do much, and I expected the frequency of leaves falling would gradually increase but it never did.
Not a bad game, but has some room for improvement. I never had to use space key, and I made 96 points only because of an incoming log (which is a little tricky cause the lack of feedback, weird sound appart). I just walked left and right so I felt the main mechanic a bit weak, I would have added something like a temporal power up like a leaf blower os something like that. The ludum theme is very well implemented here though, and the title is pretty smart :)

I already hated leaves before I played this game, but I hate them even more now. Also for some reason it's raining perfectly sawed off, thick logs of deadly hardwood. No wonder they invented the leaf blower. All I had in this game was a measly rake. I wish raking had a slightly stronger effect on the leaves in front of the character. The power here was all too realistic for my tastes. The sound effects were great, music was ok, and the leaves were awesome. I also thought the inclusion of personal high scores were a nice touch. This game was good for 2 playthroughs but eventually, this game triggered me with all the annoyances of the real autumn and made me super happy I live in the Southern Hemisphere, where we are currently still enjoying summer :)

I love the color of the leaves. It was very frustrating attempting to rake leaves off of the screen since a lot of the time they'd end up slipping underneath the rake. I also thought it was a bit slow but overall nice work.
Hey, that was a fun game !I would never have expected to enjoy racking leaves. Also, the diversity in leaves colors is really important for the mood. Good choice.
Also, as a side note : the title is great. But I just wanted to make you aware that a past (great) ludum game has the same title : https://jayisgames.com/games/leaf-me-alone/

@vfabien21 Thanks so much! And yes I realize the name is unoriginal :joy: Just quick thinking.
