So everyone knows, it is possible, but barely. I made it using water first, then food, then sleeping when I became slower than the patrol. (Uploading a screenshot here didn't seem to work, though I am new to commenting on this site and may have missed something.)

It reminded me Passage. But there is not much to do. The sound is amazing and the art is nice.
The gameplay is not very engaging in my opinion. The art suits the atmosphere you are trying to achieve though!

Hi! This was pretty challenging game and I almost won it. The graphics are pretty basic and the music is also pretty neat. The only thing that I would Improve is the difficulty and maybe add some new mechanic. Overall this was a nice entry.
Excellent mood and consistent style. I love the parallax mountains in the background! I didn't quite get the hang of the gameplay (I died of exhaustion a lot), in particular I didn't seem to be able to use sleep very effectively, and wasn't sure whether having more power allowed you to move faster or just staved off exhaustion. The progress indicator is neat though.

@hgcummings Yes, your strength affects your speed, that's why the patrol catches up with you if you don't stay strong. I tried reflecting that in the speed of the walking animation at first, but it kept glitching out when you replenished your strength, so sadly, it had to go ;)
Fun game and the audio and graphics are a nice addition

I liked the simplistic art and the soundtrack very much! But i think it is not really fun to play. You should add some more elements - some events, for example, and then it will become much more interesting! And i'd added a few more sounds, like drinking the water and eating. Anyway, nice work on your entry! :)

I personally didn't find it very engaging, as you're basically just waiting for a meter to run out so you can fill it again. It's like Oregon Trail without any events, and sadly that doesn't make for a very interesting game. Congratulations on completing your entry, though, and in just 4 hours at that. :)

I like the idea and the mood but I don't get what's the difference between eating and drinking. I had a feeling that you can drink or eat or sleep with no consequences. Kudos for keeping the prototype simple though!

@coauctor The difference is in the amount of strength it replenishes. Eating gives you back a little more than drinking.
Cute little resource management game. Sound is good, nice scrolling environment. It just needs more of everything.

It was kind of boring, but if you'd put something in the environment (obstacles, people, sidequests), or some way to fins more water and food it would make it more engaging, Still liked the aesthetics and progressbar at the top.

A fun game made in short amount of time. Good music enhanced the atmosphere well. Nice job :)

nice! simple, challenging. I could see this mechanic fitting into a larger game where you are part of a heist or some kind of chase/immigration is part of it. cool

Graphics in combination with the music make a really good mood for the game. congrats!
The music is amazing. Did you make it? If so, how??? :D
I kind of can't believe you made this in 4 hours. It's pretty minimal, but I still get a great mood from it. I also love the story - it really brings to imagination escaping real world regimes, or fictional regimes (1984). The only thing I'd advise is to maybe have more excitement as the player goes on. Even something as simple as blending a panting/tired animation is good. Overall, great job.
Nice background art and music!
Really fun little game with interesting approach to the theme, beautifull graphics and polish of the game. It is very hard to beat, but not imposible. Great Job!

Fun little game, where both graphics and music creates a very nice mood. Tried some times, but was never successful and couldn't really figure out when to use sleep.
4 hours is not a lot of time to make a game, nice job

I made it! That was simple but so damn stressful! Great atmosphere, music, art and mechanics. There's really not much to this game but it's so perfectly executed that I can't complain. Great work!
Kinda simple, but fits the theme. Art/music/gameplay create "right" tension.
There's no reason for the game to take so long or to be so hard. I'm glad I couldn't get my criminal person out of the country. He probably deserves to be caught by the honest, hard-working law enforcement agent. At least the boarder police guy doesn't slow down for snacks or to sleep.
