Hahah nice interpretation of the theme. Too bad there isn't too much gameplay, but nice work with the graphics! It is simple but well made. Well done for completing a game!

Thank you, mango-malarkey!
I love the blocky graphics, looking good! I wish there was more to the gameplay, but definitely looking sharp. Thanks for making and sharing this!
Well, I saved the dood. It was nice to have the clock there to indicate my progress. Its a funny idea. I imagine a repair man hitting the generator or frantically turning a crank off screen. I like the art style and all the little details and indicators of power around the room. Nice submission!
I like the graphics but there is a lack of gameplay, for this game maybe could be nice to add like a guitar hero stuff but just with one line, to give it another touch, for example each "ray" you hit you get energy, if you fail it lose energy.
Congratulations!
Congratulations on your first entry! This is quite program to destroy a keyboard (I was tempted to record the sound I was making hitting the key as fast as possible and upload it for your listening pleasure). The game as has been said is pretty limited which is fine from a first attempt aspect, as getting anything is a huge accomplishment, so I'd say take away the areas that slowed you down and turned this from a Compo entry to a Jam entry, and work on that in between now and the next competition and work on improving that.
It's simple, but you can entertain yourself with it. You fit the theme and the audio effect is nice. Good Job!!
I liked it, though the gameplay itself is very limited. Nice take on the theme.
The art was really funny, I thought it was really cool. It would be interesting to add in other management mechanics that you need to do to keep the patient alive.
@cpv I saved him! Nice job for your first entry.
I liked:
The Art- I really like the art actually. The models are decently detailed for low poly, and I liked how the generator moved and the operating room was dynamic in that there were flashing lights and moving things. It's nice to look at.
I didn't like:
The Gameplay- There really isn't much to do except press the spacebar. I would have liked to see something like only pressing the spacebar at certain times (like have a meter that goes back and forth, and if you hit the spacebar in the green zone you get power) or just something else to not make it so monotonous.
Congrats on your first entry!
Cool graphics, gameplay is limited but the experience is nice anyway :) Great job.
An idea for a gameplay element came to mind. while you got to mash the spacebar, the doctor could ask for a tool. In order to give him the tool you have to spell it back to him or something like that. if you spell it wrong then the patient is harmed and mass chaos irrupts in the OR.
The game needs more gameplay elements as others have said. Keep at it! I hope you had fun with your first entry.
Congratulations on your first game!
Like others, I found the models interesting. The clock was definitely a nice useful touch to have.
I wish there was more to do in the game, but hey; You finished a game in the time limit, and that counts for something. :-)
Good job!
I'm afraid I cannot necessarily give helpful feedback as far as gameplay is concerned, as there is no obvious direction that the game should go. The most I can suggest is that, if the upkeep of the generator is the main role of the player, it should be more involved. Perhaps they are an engineer monitoring the doctor from another room, and they have a whole series of tasks complete.
Instead, I'll point out things that already exist that need improvement: - The generator animation is essentially fine given a more cartoony artstyle, but right now it does not loop smoothly - it's shape suddenly jumps from one to another. - Similarly, the sound effect for the generator does not loop smoothly.
Now for opinions: - I honestly think that the graphics are unimpressive. Although most of the equipment in the background looks okay, the human characters are, in my opinion, ugly. I believe that the reason is that they are too complicated - for example, the arms do not need to be spaced away from the body. This looks weird due to the resolution of the models. Instead, place the arms directly against the body, and make the body 1 voxel wider on either side. Hopefully that makes sense; I've never really done voxel art but I believe that some concepts from pixel art apply. - Something I didn't immediately notice that is actually a really nice touch: the light level going down while the generator is unpowered. I like that. - Finally: more things need to be animated. The main problem with the graphics as they currently stand is that they are too static. But this is also tied in to simply expanding the role of the player - more things will be dynamic the more the player interacts with them.
I hope my (admittedly harsh) criticism is helpful in some manner to you, as otherwise it's for naught. Congratulations on your first game.
Farewell, space key, it was an honor to have you. The game was fun, though I didn't feel I was much of a participant (well, except for pumping the damn generator), still I rooted for the guy until the end.
The graphics were kinda uncanny in a way, but pretty neat non the less. Voxel Surgeon Simulator ftw!
Nice graphics love the voxel style nice work.
Congratulation in your first entry! Simple but well executed game! Hope you keep making games and improving!
