I dunno if it's because I'm a Linux user, but I have some bug or weird things which make the game very frustrating.
* not any button is working (in menu). I succeed to launch the game pressing the escape key. * I can't turn the player ! He's always looking the reactor, so it's very hard to kill robots.
The game is still really funny, and graphics & audio are nices.

Sorry for multipost
Problems with internet connection ...
@matoux42 Thanks for playing! I had a similar problem testing the mac build of my game (menu buttons not working), as well as other Unity games I've tried recently. If I wait like 30 seconds - 1 minute, they then work perfectly fine. I don't have that problem at all if I run the windows build through wine, so it seems like it might just be a problem with Unity's mac and linux builds. The player is supposed to turn toward your mouse, does it not do that on your computer?
Interesting take on the theme. Was sufficiently difficult because you had to choose which resources to prioritize. Graphics were pretty good for a game jam. Overall solid game!
It would be nice if the camera was zoomed out to the entire board so we could see all the threats and batteries. Also an audio cue on the robots attacking the emp would be great. Robots also sometimes spawned basically on top of me. Batteries blocked pathing sometimes - consider making them pathable. Core gameplay seemed really fun, difficulty was high but didn't feel impossible or too cheaty.
Nice game, it was fun to play. I was hoping there was a way to "win" though, or get to next level or something.
@reax Thanks for playing! Charging the emp and going through the exit would be a "win", wouldn't it?
Fun game! I like the gameplay, it was fun juggling the batteries, using them as shields etc. Maybe some more prominent feedback on low ammo, and being attacked since the camera is a little close. Great game, Good luck!
Good game, I didn't manage to finish it though :( I like the mechanics it's a good implementation on the theme and makes you move everywhere to be able to complete the objective. I just wish there was a way to bait the robots out of the EMP
@xarras Thanks for playing! It's not really communicated anywhere unless you happen to notice it, but shooting a robot once will get it off the EMP.
A fun but pretty difficult game. Having a slightly larger view of the room (zoomed out camera) would've helped with knowing what's going on better. The audio (especially that laser sound) and art were good for a game jam and the movement + shooting felt smooth and well done. Good job!
pretty fun game, didnt finish though, but with some more polish and time, this could be a pretty kewl game.
Fun game, but a bit too hard. Even though the graphics are pretty simple, I like the way they're animated. The music is pretty good, and the game plays very smoothly. Took a while to 'get' the game, but after that the game is pretty fun. Only real negative is how big the map is when compared to the camera, makes it very hard to know where the enemies are.
pretty nice game! i think a bit too many robots spawn, but overall pretty good :)
Nice game, seems a bit difficult or unexplained. I absolutely love everything else about it though!
Definitely a lot of information to dump on the player at once. It's a really hard problem to tackle though, and even harder when doing game jams. I think a little slower pace at the start would have helped out there. I enjoy all of the mechanics that are there though! And the robot death frame is perfect.
Took me a a few deaths to understand everything going on. Graphics are consistent which is good, and sound adds a lot to the game. Two suggestions for things missing in this game that could be easily implemented for a better experience: Difficulty levels that just make robots spawn less or more often, and an indicator for when you are getting hit. Just a simple sound effect would have been great here. Alas the time crunch of a jam always leaves room for improvement =P.
Overall though had a lot of fun. Controls were tight and responsive, things made sense once I realized what they were, and each time I felt like I could beat the game if only I played a little bit better which means if this was the hard difficulty it would be perfect.
VERY challenging. I like the way you worked the theme into here. Enemy AI seems to target either the EMP or the player decisively instead of randomly.
Also, I love that you actually got a coherent menu system. Most LD games (even my own) wind up not implementing this properly.
Lots of strategy for such a small game. I really enjoyed trying to balance my desires to: destroy robots, recharge batteries, recharge gun, and recharge health.
I could definitely see this being expanded with more enemies, abilities, level geometry etc.
My biggest negative is that, sometimes, the robots spawn right on top of me, and I feel I have no choice but to take damage or die. I'd also really like some kind of of indicator that robots have started attacking the core when I'm too far away to see it. Nothing worse than coming back with a full battery than seeing 3+ robots attacking the core.
Overall, one of my favorites so far
Choatic fun! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMCKWv94MN0
