Fun game. I like the fact that you can jump really high, and the graphics are very good. I was a little confused at first about where my character was (the reddish/orange pixel didn't jump out at me). Also the blue portal looking thing in the background looked cool, but since it stood out so much I expected it to do something.

One last thing...is it possible to control the direction that you shoot, or is it always to the right? (Sorry if I missed something). I really enjoyed the game.

edve98 2015-04-20 09:30

@Chadivision thank you for the insights. I did upload a bit newer version of the game with some bug fixes(all I did was just compile the game on Windows, as on Linux Unity3d isn't that stable). The player shoots to the direction of your mouse, and you can shoot up/down/left/right - wherever you want.

Funny, it's like Super mario Sunshine, but in a minimalistic style.
Now seriously, is a solid entry, good work.

(I hate the sound effects, music is good)

ddalacu 2015-04-20 14:00

Well a little more graphics on menu and player and this could of been realy good,i liked the fire spawning and the pixelate look of the game except the player the fire water idea is nice even though not very inovative.Nice game!

marcellus 2015-04-20 14:02

Nice minecraft reference, gameplay is a bit basic but game looks polished.

edve98 2015-04-20 14:09

Thank you everyone! Well, I have to say that I finished working on this game 1 minute before the summit hour. Only if I took a bit fewer breaks...

zayron 2015-04-20 14:13

Nice job. This was fun ones I got the hang of it. Sounds were very loud compared to other games I have played. I had to pull my head phones off haha.

marsares2011 2015-04-20 16:24

Colourful art style with pretty pixel water effects that I feel has minimalistic gameplay. A lot more could have been done. Font size is way too small and a red dot only a few pixels big as a character with a red contrasted background I don't see as good design.

hyoga-3d 2015-04-20 16:28

haha funny game, a bit simple, but nice, also in the begining I could not see my char, maybe he could be larger.

kristof 2015-04-20 16:33

This is fun! The jumping feels very precise. I also really like the fire animations! If I had to criticize one thing, it would be that the player character is only a red dot while everything else is pixelated... Cool game!

swizzman 2015-04-20 17:37

It's a pretty interesting game, I really liked graphics, especially particles. Player model could be improved :D I didn't find it quite addicting though. Also, it was quite hard to find enemies on the map. It's a cool game anyways :P

berkano 2015-04-20 20:19

Quite fun to play and bounce around!

skylerwithane 2015-04-21 02:25

I also stared at the blue portal. It took me a few moments to find the character, but, when I did I set a high score! And then another.

I really had a good time playing this! I love your take on the theme using water as your weapon, and the effect looked nice. The FX and music were pretty good too. I died the first time because the player blended so well with the background, but after that I played many times trying to beat my score (nice job remembering the previous score btw, that really kept me playing).

As requested - BOOM, COMMENT! Thanks for your submission, we'll let you know if you make it on the showcase =D

edve98 2015-04-21 19:59

Thank you all for thse wonderful comments! Yes, now I really see the problem with player being very small/portal being somewhat too distracting. I am working on a post-compo version right now, and I'm adding stuff that didn't make it in 48 hours time windows/ fixing things. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

edve98 2015-04-21 20:00

factorial, it remembers it even if you close your game ;)

ultraval 2015-04-22 16:29

PIIIM PIRIPIPIIIIM (the song is now in my fu***ng head)!!!!!

Nice game, take my like sir!!

edve98 2015-04-22 17:01

reiknight, you can download the soundtrack on Game jolt if you want. Maybe listening to it a bit more will help :P

kostyan1996 2015-04-22 17:17

I kinda like this minecraft -ish style :D

hotboxgames 2015-04-22 17:19

A nice little platform survival game! :D

Love the splash and damage effects, plus the need to conserve ammo and not just "spray 'n pray". The only problem I had was seeing the character to start with (I thought I was the purple portal in the background xD) but after that was good! :D

Great effort, looking forward to see what you can create with UE4!

maddestudios 2015-04-22 20:29

Took me a minute to realise what I was doing (My own fault for not reading the description :P), but after that it was pretty good!
Really enjoy the music, and the graphics are nice
The only thing I would say is that the character doesn't stand out, and it's a little slow paced for me, but that's just cos' I like my games fast

Anyway, overall, good game!

lolshouse 2015-04-23 03:57

Pretty sweet job. One thing I would improve would be making the character a different colour so that they stand out more :)

nonentheless 2015-04-23 19:34

Pretty hard to realise what you are at the beginnning :)

xanjos 2015-04-23 23:42

The player was a bit too small to see at first but I absolutely loved the water gun physics and the soundtrack was pretty nice.

unconventionalfusion 2015-04-25 21:08

Well that was fun! I really like the concept I just wish there were more enemies. The fire particle is a nice touch. Good job!

zqmony 2015-05-02 21:40

Nice job. My only complaint is that the player moves with the background.

bvanschooten 2015-05-03 16:01

Yeah, I love the water cannon! In some cases I can jump higher than in others.

dallonf 2015-05-09 14:49

I thought I was the purple thing at first. Died three times before I realized that there was a red dot that actually responded to the arrow keys.
