not sure how to download the os x app--can't download the dirs from github
I couldn't get the Mac version to run for me. :(
Ah sorry guys. I didn't have a Mac to test on so I wasn't sure if it would work. I'll remove the link :(
Also updated the download links, and recompiled the mac version. Hopefully it helps.
While I'm unzipping the master zip: Why not export it to flash?
Just had a go. First thoughts: As the player, I'm not sure why I would even bother with the coloured wheels. I'd just rotate the B/W wheels to rack up the most points possible.
Won't run on my Linux system (Ubuntu 13.04); needs libneko.so
Good entry, but realy too hard for me. Keep up the good work.
Wow. I love this. The concept is actually pretty unique (at least I haven't seen any game like it), and is really addicting. I scored 178338 at most, but figured that the hardest part of the game was remembering which mouse button turned the wheels clockwise\counter-clockwise. Also, when it got faster I ended up clicking the wrong wheels. Sweet music as well. My favorites so far!
Removed the Mac and Linux links sorry guys :(
Also, no flash since the rotation really slowed it down to the point of being unplayable
My best score is 10,000 before I die :(, Good job I like the idea
Very difficult! I like the concept, but at times it's hard to judge how close the colours are to each other; I think a less varied gradient could've worked better :) very solid and nice, still!
Awesomely fun little puzzle-esque game. I played this for a bit longer than I expected. xD
Fun little game, but after a while all I cared about was moving the black bars out of the balls' way. The other colors went mostly unnoticed by me.
Holy hard-as-hell batman! pretty fun though, maybe if it started you off with less wheels/colors and then worked up to this difficulty?
I can't figure out how to run it on Linux... the bin directory only contains a Windows executable.
great idea, but very hard to play :/ u can work on it!
Music, and sound don't work. and I don't even know whats going on with the game but it doesn't seem to be right according to the instructions
Very fun game! I got 55K, not so bad :)
Good audio feedback that helped me understand the black and white parts.
This is a neat and unique concept! It was fun to play.
I have some respectful critique though, I hope you don't mind: If you just purely focus on avoiding the black and forget about everything else, the game becomes easy, and any points you would have gotten by focusing on color matching you gain over the long term instead. Once I figured this out I had a score of 200,000 with 15 lives left. And since. judging by your description, I had reached the top difficulty, I felt I could have gone forever.
One possible way to combat this would be instead of using a score as a measure of how good you play, maybe use time? At the start of the game, you'd set a timer of say, 3 minutes. It ticks down, but you get extra fractions of seconds when you match the colors. Black could actually deduct the time, in this case. So the player is trying to push back the timer from inevitably ticking down to zero. Your "score" then would be how much time you actually lasted.
But apart from that, you did a great job! It was a fun game to play. Well done!
Hey! I like this a lot. I agree with calavera that there's a lot of wheels to manage and it might be helpful to scale up as you go (maybe reduce the number of slices, too), but I like the concept. The color-match scoring is an interesting idea, but as the others already mentioned, it's easier just to focus on the white/black segments (but maybe that's what separates the skilled players from the beginners?).
Also, it seems like the rate at which the balls appear and roll doesn't reset after retrying, so I felt like I needed to restart the whole thing to feel like I could play at a decent pace. I also noticed the color wheel didn't re-randomize, so I threw a couple games while I tried to see if I could maximize single color frequency in each row. I couldn't. :P
My best was 69,354. I'd love to see this fleshed out a bit more.
Great game concept! Fewer rings/colors might make it a little easier to play/allow for increased difficulty in other places. Frequently lost lives because I clicked in the wrong place.
This was pretty neat, though a bit difficult. Nice entry!
Hi misto423.
I think I'm youre first linux tester!
The game was mind-blowing!!! It was amazing...
Very interesting idea, but a little cumbersome in execution. I quite liked the scoring mechanics, but I found that trying to manage everything at once was quite tricky! I'd love to see a post-compo version in future, keep it up! :)
nice work
