I can't juge the difficulty of the AI or the game because it's the first time i played Shogy but the game feel pretty solid, with very great art. Good job !

I think it's a very, very interesting way to implement the theme. I've never played shogi before but I toyed around with it, seems fun. Top notch art and sound though!
You made this in 48 hours? I have to build you a shrine or something :)
Really good game! Better than some stuff that is sold.
I dug the graphics - smooth, all the way. Kept trying to beat the computer as well. An idiot is me.
Great job on the graphics, best I have seen so far. Also digging your theme interpetation
Art is good. I like that the piece have icons on them that tell me what they do. I don't think I could have played with out that touch.
Nice game. I could finally learn shogi thanks to you ! You should have add some move steps or pauses when your piece is taken just after your move, the first time it happens I was confused.
Did you just make... Chess? Interesting move. (Ha! That was a chess-metaphor)
Nice graphics, especially the texture-work. Having both tile-sets be chese doesn't work though, and having them both be symbols-only doesn't either. (Cheese-wedge! Cheese-roll! Cheese-slice! Cheese-with-grape-thing!)
Thanks everyone.
matthias, in shogi both players use the same pieces since you can use your opponent's pieces. For the textures I rely a lot on generators (FilterForge in my case) but I try to customize and tweak them a bit in Photoshop when possible.
benjamin, yeah I noticed that, I wish I could have fixed it quickly.
Nice work, will have to keep playing to understand the game. I like how you themed it (mouse & cheese) to make it more interesting.
damn awesome art there! i m luv with this game. freakin cool :)
really excellent fun, with great graphics. The AI is actually pretty good, no matter what degrading names you call it :P I can see by the addition of the mouse what a last-minute consideration the theme was, but the solidness of the mechanics, interface and graphics made up for it
Thanks for introducing me to a new game! I liked your implementation, though it ran somewhat sluggishly on my machine (2011 mac mini). Bonus points for creepy mouse. My one complaint would be that it was really hard to tell why I was captured. I'm not sure if that is because the animation happened so fast or what. Everything looked pretty nice (save the 'YOU LOSE' graphic), it really set a tranquil feel.
This is AMAZING. I love the title music, the graphics, the game, everything! I didn't even have to look at any instructions to figure out how to play (I've never actually heard of shogi until now). Unbelievably good entry!
As Benjamin and racarate have noticed, when your piece is captured immediately you don't see it reach the square you clicked (at least on the lower AI levels). It's one of those little things I wish I had fixed.
Thank you all for the great feedback!
I'd really like to play this but the links are broken for me.
It looks like my host was down for a few minutes >_<, please try again :)
Amazing work with the graphics! Ai could've been better (I've never played shogi and managed to beat him always, but I'm an experienced chess player on the other hand...)
Keep up with the good work, I'd love to see more advanced AI for this :)
Pretty interesting. Nice graphics.. Piece designs could've been a bit more intuitive (although I appreciate them not being Japanese characters).
I found this quite enjoyable. The AI was just the right level for me as I've played chess before but suck at it. I managed to beat the AI at least once which was very satisfactory.
The 3d models were really nice but could use some animation. The particle effect did a lot to help with that but I found that it became annoying at times. Maybe it would be possible to have the particles in the background?
Anyway, I'll have to try this with a friend, it was fun! :)
It ran too slow to bear even on the lowest settings. Which is strange because I've been able to play most other unity entries on medium settings.
I can't remark on Shogi as a game so I can't say how true you were to it. The game was nice up until I won a round and then my computer died in a ball of molten agony. I can't know if it was this game that caused it but I think I'll skip the rematch.
Those are some sweet models. The board and game pieces have very nice textures as well.
Looks like a really interesting game. Nice implementation!
