Was a bit tricky to play.
Original. I guess it's a lot of fun if you have a friend to play with.
awesome, reminds me a bit of slot car racing.
I definitely wished I got to actually do normal racing, but that wouldn't have been as unique. Really good polish having all those menus and 2 player mode, and even a nice selection of "cars". Of course, that makes only the control scheme minimalist, but you'll do well on polish and less well on theme (I gave you high theme anyway). Kind of an obnoxious theme in that respect.
Nice little game, good production. I only played alone, highscores would be nice.
This is fun. Would probably be more fun with more people playing though. Sequel with net play maybe?
Pretty cool. Conversely, the 'easy' track took more presses for me than the 'twisty' one. Playing with a friend would have been cool, but I notice the sensitivity changes between game modes. Is this on purpose? Also a real-time 2 player mode would have been interesting to see.
It just occurred to me that this is paper racing, which explains the wonky controls. I was frustrated while playing because I felt like I was racing and should be able to keep pressing space to keep my power meter up. I now understand WHY it is turn based.
Some kind of visualization on the push power on-screen (like growing arrow to the push direction) would increase playability a lot - now the push-power is just guesswork - or alternatively you have to play it a lot to get a "feel" of how it works.
cool idea
Not very fun because I wanted my car to go really fast, not piddle around corners. Ultimately I crashed into the stands and now I've got two pending lawsuits. Thanks a lot, asshole.
Nice Polish. Wish there was an opponent for one player though.
The best bit was getting to pick what kind of car I wanted to be :) Good theme compliance.
This is a pretty cool concept. It is funny to see the sports 'power' idea applied to 1/2 player car racing. Seen so many sports games use that mechanic for throwing / putting / jumping / bowling etc it is funny to see it on these little racers. Enjoyed looking at the various "car" attributes. UFO and Arrow were pretty funny. Nice all around game and polish on this one. Seems fairly complete.
Had expected it to be real time, so was a bit surprised. Don't really know what I would have prefered. Ends up being a bit like minigolf.
Much content for an LD game with multiple tracks and cars and stuff.
Think I would have enjoyed it better if I some kind of motivation in trying to get as few pushes as possible. Not exactly sure how that could have been accomplished.
Creative. Can't play it for long without getting bored, though.
Probably would have been more fun with a friend, but pretty neat anyway.
Nice complete package - impressive that you got multiple tracks, cars etc into it within 48 hours. I didn't play the two player game, but I can imagine that it would actually be quite fun. Gameplay actually reminds me of some of the events in "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games" on Wii, strangely (I've no idea how that game is selling so many copies .. triple-franchise power I guess). I'd like to be able to push while the meter is still going down, would make the play a little more fluid. Graphics were okay, but could use some tweaking. Sound was okay, but the menu switching sounds could be toned down a little.
Damn. I think 5 is impossible. Managed 6 several times though. Seemed a bit random as to how well it would handle a corner. Sometimes it would crash out with almost any speed and sometimes it would slip through the most crazy bends at high speed.
It's really rewarding when you get a sweet drift going, but again pretty random and sort of rare.
I like the hood :)
slot cars with a rubber band! im thinking to myself, wtf is a slot car game doing here :D. nice menus and feels polished.
