Oct 21 21:50:59 Ticket To Nowhere ♥ 3 Fun! I felt like I was kept just the right amount of busy, and I liked the music a lot as well. These robots sure like their milk. I did run into a game-ending bug. This site's not letting me upload images right now for whatever reason, but here it was: https://i.imgur.com/YyxrL8v.png
Oct 21 22:15:04 24m 05s WHACK-A-TONY: Super Platformer ♥ 1 I won in just 39 deaths! Site's not allowing image uploads right now, so you'll just have to take my word for it. :) This was so creative and thematic! Better than anything I've played in the couple LDs. I was especially surprised that you found an in-game use for the volume knob, and there were even a couple spots where the middle values were used on both knobs. EDIT: Whack-a-Tony Plaza
Oct 21 22:28:21 13m 17s Booji ♥ 0 So cute! Loved the Simlish-style voice lines. Took me forever to find the last pumpkin and spider. I also needed to jump off the bed and take a sick mid-air picture for the unsolved puzzle to count. The camera was also... I mean, I had major camera trouble a few LDs back, so I know it ain't easy. Well done overall! :)
Oct 21 22:58:32 30m 11s Overdub ♥ 0 Undoubtedly impressive. The text has that familiar LLM flavor to it. Agree with others that the mechanics could have used a more formal tutorial, especially figuring out how to make use of the vines.
Oct 22 00:00:03 1h 01m Pearishable ♥ 0 Clever mechanic! I felt that the trajectories of the "refuse" — the pulp, etc. — were hard to get a feel for. They often seemed to go a half tile above or below where I wanted them, and it felt more like a nuisance than a challenge. It would be a lot easier to visualize if they just went over one and dropped straight down. In the same vein, not being able to flip the machines... I know that this is also central to the design of the puzzles, but if you give the player a little more power, you could make the puzzles commensurately harder! :)
Oct 22 02:05:44 2h 05m Project Armakeddon ♥ 0 Y'all got me scanning the radio like Manousos, and you have the gall to Rickroll me?! Definitely enjoyed puzzling over the manual. I managed to contact the three different bunkers: is there more to do?
Oct 22 02:32:17 26m 33s Lensor ♥ 0 Lens of Horus OP! Very enjoyable: am I detecting undertones of Nubby's Number Factory?
Oct 22 02:53:27 21m 10s Pigeon Post ♥ 0 Why do some pigeons poop bird poop and others poop, like... dog poop? o_O
Oct 22 03:25:17 31m 50s Caption Obvious ♥ 1 Aw, I liked the ending! Reminded me of the ending to Dicey Dungeons, for some reason. And the sentimental final blow. I only wish it were longer/harder, but there's only so much we can do in 48 hours...
Oct 22 05:45:00 2h 19m Robobobo ♥ 3 Mandatory victory screen: ldss.png Control scheme took some getting used to: I think I would have had an easier time if the walljumps were more controllable. Once I figured out how to get the full height on my jumps, the boss went down pretty quick. Well done!
Oct 22 06:04:00 19m 00s Subvivor ♥ 2 Very tricky! I got as far as level 4. The balance is a little tough: it seems that if you collide at all, you're not going to have enough oxygen to make it to the end, so I feel that I have to manually restart whenever I collide. This makes the oxygen mechanic effectively nonexistent; I just have to bypass it. The limited field of view creates that submarine atmosphere... but at the same time, with all the dead ends in each level, it means I have little chance at beating a level in my first several tries, which can feel a little sad. Not to say I didn't have fun, just my two — maybe twenty — cents.
Oct 22 06:39:28 35m 28s Danger Looms ♥ 1 I have halted the loom, after which it caught fire. What a fun and cheeky setting! I enjoyed the writing; it was certainly among the best I've seen in LD. It could have done with a little more variety, and maybe a source of time pressure to disincentivize some of the grinding that you can do.
Oct 22 07:13:55 34m 27s Radio Active Wear ♥ 1 It's like a real-time spot-the-difference drawing, but with just one drawing! It could be even better without the scan lines; I found that I was usually seeing them distort first, and so I wasn't looking at the image as much. I liked all the spooky/chill images as well. And am I crazy, or was there a subtle pan on the staticky SFX that hinted which side of the image the anomaly was appearing on? If not, that could be cool too.
Oct 22 08:10:54 56m 59s Smash to Begin ♥ 0 Felt very strange at first, until I figured out that I was really controlling a cursor, with one of the hands matching its position. A neat way to zhuzh up a simple concept... but what did these poor VHS tapes ever do to me? D:
