| Oct 19 06:08:27 | Charlotte's Balloonatic | ♥ 0 | It took me a while to get used to the control mechanism and that the target location is always the same island to the right, but there's definitely potential for an expanded game here. It reminded me a bit about an old Amiga game called 'Ugh' where you had to ferry people between different locations on the map. By having more floating islands around the map it would improve replayability. Aside from that, the mechanics were enjoyable after I got the hang of it, the graphics were fantastic, and the music suited it perfectly. | |
| Oct 19 18:58:03 | 12h 49m | Cold Call | ♥ 1 | Absolutely insane and brilliant! I especially love the rotary phone effect; gave me flashbacks to the 80s. |
| Oct 20 19:16:14 | 24h 18m | The Animation Morgue | ♥ 1 | really well designed, would have liked to see more. |
| Oct 20 19:34:42 | 18m 28s | Ghost Train | ♥ 1 | Really fun, absolutely loved this. Admittedly I cheated on a couple of the levels, but they're really well designed, with a well thought out difficulty ramp. |
| Oct 20 21:47:53 | 2h 13m | Antre | ♥ 3 | I managed to get one half of the typewriter puzzle, but couldn't figure out the rest. All-in-all, pretty good, and actually rather creepy. I can see this being expanded into a larger horror game, assuming the puzzles are sign-posted a bit more. |
| Oct 21 06:02:51 | 8h 14m | RetroWare | ♥ 2 | Excellent Warioware style game, with a great range of minigames that could loop and speed up without becoming repetitive. I agree with the comments about the loading times for new scenes, but I'm not sure how that could be done (pre-loading?). |
| Oct 21 20:38:36 | 14h 35m | AURORA Project | ♥ 1 | Reminds me of playing text adventures on my electron during the 80s, but this is a lot fairer and more forgiving of what I type. Thoroughly enjoyed this, ended up with 100/100 points. |
| Oct 22 06:10:10 | 9h 31m | Re : Search | ♥ 0 | Very impressive for something made in 72 hours. Short but enjoyable with definite ways it could expand if you wanted to; I'd imagine taking the clues you find in the books and maybe piecing them together in a separate puzzle? |
| Oct 22 19:26:07 | 13h 15m | The Basilisk | ♥ 0 | I love the art style, big fan of the big chunky sprite games from the 80s and 90s. I think I got myself soft-locked; there was a bit with a door, then a wall, and then another door and I couldn't find any route around it, and couldn't backtrack either. |
| Oct 24 21:51:22 | 50h 25m | The Last Show | ♥ 0 | That was a fantastic concept. It took me a while to get used to it, and I spammed the bridge/jumping to get past a couple of levels before I worked out what I was doing. I agree with other comments that it could be extended by using the animals as projections as well. |
| Oct 24 22:05:16 | 13m 54s | Orpheus 0600 | ♥ 0 | Managed to get the web build working in my browser after it stuttered for a while; must be something to do with Godot's 3d stuff on the lowest settings. Loved the style though; whatever shader you used worked brilliantly. The game itself was pretty creepy; not knowing what was going on until the reveal at the end was a really good plot device. The tasks could have done with a bit more signposting; I wasn't sure how the recycler worked until I noticed an arm was suddenly missing. |
| Oct 24 22:23:47 | 18m 31s | Amiga 12000 | ♥ 1 | I loved this one; the spaceship being the drive portion on an amiga with the lights for power, disk access, etc. Was half expecting to see the flashing lights of death before a software failure / guru meditation popping up. The puzzles were really well thought out (and the planetary maps reminded me of Frontier, also on the Amiga). Loved the graphical style (reminds me of Boltgun's cutscenes). |
| Oct 25 17:46:56 | 19h 23m | Snuffed Out | ♥ 0 | I have the same comments as others; it's incredibly atmospheric and a great base for a horror game (that first simple jump scare got me), but the loop of scan, steer, and shovel got a bit samey and I didn't feel like I was making progress. I ended up stopping after the 3rd or 4th scan. Graphics, sound, and mood are top-notch though. Maybe I'd have made it more of an exploration game, extended the submarine(?) you're in and maybe make it feel more like the movie Alien (trying to avoid some entity while fixing the submarine instead of scanning and steerign) because I was getting that sort of vibe walking in the dark with those pipes above me. |
| Oct 25 18:58:09 | 1h 11m | Insert Disc 2 | ♥ 0 | This was a really good concept; loved the puzzle element of selecting the correct disk to obtain resources for the main game via what were effectively minigames. My one complaint was the exagerated distortion of your CRT shader; when the screen scrolled vertically it started making me feel a bit sick. Pretty sure the CRTs I grew up with in the 80s were never that bad.. :D |
| Oct 26 17:55:08 | 22h 56m | Grassland | ♥ 0 | I really enjoyed this one; I've been so used to games where lasers strike the centre of a mirror and reflect along the grid that it didn't occur to me to use the same mirrors to target different areas because of the offset. Good puzzles :) |
| Oct 26 19:54:34 | 1h 59m | The Automaton | ♥ 1 | I love these sort of puzzle games, reminds me a bit of a turn-based Chu Chu Rocket (Dreamcast) or Brat (Amiga). Really well thought out puzzles, would love to see this extended, woud make a fantastic mobile game to play on my commute. |
| Oct 26 21:32:43 | 1h 38m | ANALOG QUEST: DAY OF THE DIAL-UP | ♥ 0 | Short, but sweet. Loads of old adventure game references. Wasn't 100% convinced about the hitboxes, seemed to be offset when i was playing in fullscreen. Would like to see more games like this. |
| Oct 26 21:39:40 | 6m 57s | OLD-CABLE | ♥ 1 | love this sort of puzzle game. The 8-bit ZX Spectrum vibes were spot on, including the repetitive sound :D |
| Oct 26 22:33:17 | 53m 37s | Floppy Quest | ♥ 1 | Well design and enjoyable game.. I was going to give up on that room with the laser, as I could connect the nodes using tetris block, but didn't know I could use the shield to reflect the laser. Glad I perservered. Some of the power-ups could probably do with more signposting, but aside from there, great little game. |
| Oct 26 22:49:50 | 16m 33s | Gamma Emergency | ♥ 0 | I managed to get out of the first room exactly once and ran out of time just before the exit. I'm afraid that first trolley is rage-quit inducing. :) I definitely agree you should either be able to drag objects, or the bounce should be more consistent; that first trolley either got stuck in the corner, or only bounced back to its starting position so I couldn't climb to the other side to push it. |
