| Apr 20 22:41:24 | NORTH-5 | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/zZ5YNHbUnes Typing into the terminal is extremely satisfying once the commands get recorded in muscle memory, so there's a lot of potential for expansion here. Visually it already looks like a full game. Aliases for navigation commands (e.g. Back=Exit/Quit) would be good QoL. I ran the game on Brave with no issues. | |
| Apr 20 23:57:25 | 1h 16m | Fillmore's Island | ♥ 2 | https://youtu.be/yeo7covpJ1k Love how well-connected the map is; the last puzzle made me go back right to the starting spot, which I find remarkable. The controls felt somewhat finicky at first but it clicked when I realized I had to look at the drone's shadow. Something of note is the puzzle sections are intuitive to control because you usually move one unit at a time, but traversal between the puzzles depends on this twin-stick coordination (unnecessarily), hence a button that would make the drone follow Fillmore when held/toggled would be great QoL. The audiovisuals are impeccable, as expected from you. |
| Apr 21 18:31:29 | 18h 34m | Coverage | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/xFit955jdvk No audio because, even though I recorded a full commentary, OBS said "not today". What a bother because the music is what immediately stands out; love how it hops between time signature, samples an android sounds, and how polished it is overall. The visuals are pretty clean too, and the combat animation is just perfect. It's hard to gauge a hotseat game without convincing another human to play it long enough for both of us to get good. Based on vibes alone I really like it though. The random moveset is novel but might be a balancing nightmare; in particular, a well-timed TARDIS can probably flip a game upside down if it works the way I think it does. Thinking about it, I want this to be a board game with cute 3D-printed cell towers and a deck of action cards. First time I ever wanted a physical copy of a Ludum Dare game. Smh about naming the game word-for-word after the theme. So uncreative. |
| Apr 22 16:42:02 | 22h 10m | Signal-flag Shuffle | ♥ 1 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlOfAH0LaEs If Hammer Golf was a unique take on Tetris then this one is a unique take on Match-3. Your games are super high quality but the learning curve is always an 80-degree mountain with an avalanche warning; it's nice in its own weird way because the multiple eureka moments the player gets to experience are very satisfying. |
| Apr 22 18:08:06 | 1h 26m | Winnerman Scams a Game Show | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/rKi3VJICor4 TAS-as-a-Game is a great and thought-provoking concept but I'm not sure it was utilized to its full potential: * in the basketball game, it made very little difference compared to the typical restart-from-savepoint trope * in the gamblinator, it was just tedious * in the duck game, it was a red herring * in the bossfight, it was locked I think the most fun to be had with TAS-ing is from programming impossible movement and breaking the game, but that's not possible in a set of minigames with only mouse as the input. But of course, this is a compo proof-of-concept, and it accomplished what it had set to accomplish. The presentation is top notch as always, and I love how the acapella theme was moved from its usual main menu spot into my inner thoughts. A bit of a bummer the game has absolutely nothing to do with the theme. |
| Apr 22 20:51:49 | 2h 43m | Mixed//Signals | ♥ 1 | Love how you used the warioware format to squeeze out so many interpretations of the theme. The TNT game is basically random, and the flag game does NOT prepare the player for the later stages without QTE indicators. Screenshot_20260422_224752.png |
| Apr 23 20:10:16 | 23h 18m | Terminal Espionage | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/CXVxHB-cF4Q I usually don't call it quits without beating an LD game but after an hour of not having cleared the tutorial I had to give up ;_;. The concept and overall presentation is cool and I understand the obscurity is necessary for immersion, but I strongly recommend uploading a video walkthrough. |
| Apr 23 21:36:03 | 1h 25m | Video Signal Lost | ♥ 2 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHlN72rsfKQ Echolocation is a genuinely awesome and unique take on the theme, and it fits the vibe of a dark dungeon crawler. You could have put more focus on enemy variety instead of item variety, as there aren't many opportunities to use items anyway, but this seems to be your first jam, and going a bit out of scope is part of the process. Nice job. |
| Apr 23 22:30:52 | 54m 49s | Last Resort | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/-JNF-8UatdU I didn't understand the spawn rules but safe to say I've never played anything like this before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also can't read and forgot I could merge the bots. |
| Apr 23 23:00:06 | 29m 14s | Grzegorz The Watcher | ♥ 2 | https://youtu.be/M4n19eWDtaI Pros: fun game Cons: no horses |
| Apr 24 20:24:09 | 21h 24m | Echo | ♥ 3 | https://youtu.be/Cp6HfRdYyWc Pros: bat Cons: bat doesn't turn into a vampire girl |
| Apr 24 20:55:13 | 31m 04s | AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID | ♥ 1 | Watching others play your game is some of the best feedback you can get, so here goes: https://youtu.be/65hZqclL31Y |
| Apr 24 21:46:09 | 50m 56s | Cableman [a rhythm game] | ♥ 4 | Well, this was a treat. https://youtu.be/X0qIAg_SKs8 I regret not noticing the desktop build. |
| Apr 24 22:15:41 | 29m 32s | INTRUSICUL | ♥ 4 | https://youtu.be/oVac-4EUIRA Impressively long VN given the jam constraints, but the engine misses a few features "core" to VNs. Reminds me of the Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk duology. |
| Apr 24 22:44:29 | 28m 48s | Laser Beat | ♥ 2 | Love the game. The puzzle concept is fun and unique (Khet-lite? with a musical element), and the presentation is very polished. Ended unexpectedly soon. fuyfyufyu.png |
| Apr 25 19:08:09 | 20h 23m | signOS | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/p22L6F1fHEs Pros: a really well thought out puzzler Cons: not enough time in the world |
| Apr 25 19:13:42 | 5m 33s | Super Space Rescue Game | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/nZMrJJQ-q10 Pros: the element of horror is really strong Cons: 313165 tiny little cons |
| Apr 26 18:52:19 | 23h 38m | Chomp Radio | ♥ 1 | What I love in this idea of *snake with guns* is the constant feeling of dread in the back of your head as you're aware you can lose even the most overpowered build with a single mistake, hence you can never feel truly overpowered. There's a lot to enjoy, like the upgrade screen being exceptionally smooth (aside from being hard to navigate sometimes), the wide array of towers, the sheer scale of the game, Alex voice acting, etc. That said, there is something about the game that felt off. Snake having a heavy turn rate made input feel laggy (even though it really wasn't) and, for a distant shmup relative, there was a distinct lack of audiovisual oomph; for example, the towers just turn into dust with no explosion fanfare or even a single sound effect. Then, the actual game aspect is rough around the edges. Towers feel needlessly spongy (might be skill issue), mob spawn rules are *atrocious* and combined with their non-existent pathfinding you end up with those hilarious mob clusters. Having glanced at 100th_Coin's playthrough, I guess the game expects the player to buy enough pulsars, but this feels like a band-aid fix for a game that needed a bit more playtesting. I don't mean to sound too harsh, but you guys are Michelin-star chefs, so I can't help but hold you to a higher standard. Wish there was a restart button because I softlocked myself, as seen in the recording below: https://youtu.be/vKHrntxbcOs |
| Apr 27 16:01:29 | 21h 09m | Sigul Signal | ♥ 1 | This little Contra looks nice and plays nice, though the difficulty should accelerate over time because right now you can shoot everything from below every time with no pressure. Binding to the numpad by default is a bit diabolical in a world dominated by TKL keyboards and laptops. The highlight of the game is the art direction and its surrealness: the viking commando shooting with a telescope, the butt flies, and the colorful onions, I mean the siguls. https://youtu.be/cssYRQrrcCQ |
| Apr 27 16:26:13 | 24m 44s | Bag of Beholding | ♥ 1 | https://youtu.be/jB4pswZ7TlQ I won, but I'm not sure this gameplay loop was intended. |
| Apr 27 16:55:47 | 29m 34s | F(R)OG | ♥ 2 | https://youtu.be/qBUz-XQt9u4 Audio was acting up, which is a shame. The overall vibe from audiovisuals strongly resembles Child of Light which is one of my favorite games. The puzzle mechanics took a while to figure out but they're pretty elegant. What's missing is SFX–and this is a general hint: stuffing a game with SFX makes it so much more alive. |
| Apr 27 17:43:18 | 47m 31s | Lighthouse Diaries | ♥ 2 | https://youtu.be/SITtcdDk_VQ Well, this is something I haven't played before. It has the coziness of an RTS of the turn of the century, but it's not an RTS. I think the difficulty curve was just perfect. I never found the rock with symbols. |
| Apr 28 20:46:41 | 27h 03m | We Trust You Are Well | ♥ 1 | Every LD, there's that one unicorn game with a concept that blows my mind. This is that game. It's clearly just a POC, but I want it not to be so. It doesn't even render correctly using light mode (or any mode on Firefox), but I was still captivated. When I don't record a gameplay video, I have a custom of posting the victory screen. Image uploads don't work right now, but [here it is](https://i.imgur.com/7S5c6i6.png). |
| May 5 11:36:19 | 158h 49m | For Boom The Bell Tolls | ♥ 1 | The overall production value is really high for a 48h game mostly made by one person, and I can't get over the voice acting in particular. You're aiming at top 3 audio, and a few years ago it would have been guaranteed. Brilliant. Gameplay was a mixed bag. This command-based loop can work (and has been used in the past) in turn-based combat or in pure puzzles but real-time 1v1 is kinda awkward, especially with the opponent seemingly not using the mechanic (it's been a few days since I played, but pretty sure one of the bosses casts shield and then attacks in a rapid succession). The slowness of command input necessitates that the solution to each battle has to be simple, or otherwise it would have just been too difficult. But in its simplicity, the solution ends up tedious, as the player has to repeat it over and over, with some commands (heal...) requiring three turnarounds and like 12 keypresses. The bossfights are remarkably distinct, and although not all options given to the player are necessary, the game's "framework" does strike a great balance between simplicity and complexity. I would have probably enjoyed the gameplay a lot more if the bosses just hadn't been so spongy, but that would have probably introduced other balance issues. I think, in Minecraft terms, that it would have worked better with pressure plates instead of buttons, as it would have turned into a sort of dancing game instead of an odd variation of the first-person shooter. |
| May 8 23:48:43 | 84h 12m | Operation Alien Translation | ♥ 2 | My honest reaction: Screenshot_20260509_013900-1.png I love this kind of arbitrary pattern recognition because it gets your brain spinning both in the short-term memory gear and the creativity gear. The game was more simplistic than I expected but I loved it. It's a good twist on the theme, and just my kind of game. I wish there was unicode support and some kind of typo guard; in theory, this could work as a crazy speedtyping game, but I had to be extra careful and extra slow because the big guy complained I types "asss" instead of "as" (my S key iss a bit broken). |
