| Apr 7 17:09:22 | Altitudes | ♥ 1 | Hey, this is a pretty interesting idea! Aside from the lag, I only wish that there were more enemy types and maybe make the waves shorter. I was really surprised to see the shop that you added, that definitely adds a lot to the game! I also really enjoyed the landing in the water effects, that was really neat. Well done! | |
| Apr 7 17:16:00 | 6m 38s | The Trench | ♥ 1 | Ooo I like the sonar effect! I did think that the dialogue typing sound was a little jarring. However, I do appreciate the fun facts! I was surprised at the ending, it was a nice treat for making it all that way! |
| Apr 7 17:24:09 | 8m 09s | ABSEIL | ♥ 1 | This is pretty cool actually. I figured out that the cave was procedurally generated, right? What was really missing was some feedback. For example, when you are swinging, a rope friction sound. When you place an anchor, some sort of metal sound effect. When you take damage, an "AAAAAA" sound effect. Slap some echo on them and it would feel more immersive for sure. I think that the darkness effect could be even more pronounced as well. I only made it to about 110 meters before dying. Overall, I like it and it has potential! |
| Apr 7 17:34:01 | 9m 52s | Minesweeper 3D | ♥ 1 | Like everyone else is saying, 3D minesweeper was bound to happen at some point, and for good reason. I think it adds much needed depth to the gameplay. Though, it could definitely use some more polish, (would have liked to have the layers be switchable with 1, 2, and 3) this version does the job just fine. Good job! |
| Apr 7 19:54:33 | 2h 20m | GRAFFITI TOWER | ♥ 2 | I love the rebellious energy throughout. I was a bit of a rebel myself, as I managed to keep the title screen along with it's groovy beats playing while I smashed through the tower (this also made it to where I couldn't die). The gameplay is actually pretty satisfying, and the music ties it all together. Well done! Capture.JPG |
| Apr 7 20:13:34 | 19m 01s | Igbi Goes Deep | ♥ 0 | The amount of content here is pretty impressive, actually. I really like the 2.5D aesthetic, and the music was 🔥. Though, it took me some time to figure out what was going on or what my goal was. First of all, it wasn't clear in the hub area to continue going to the right. Also, the UI didn't scale correctly with the screen size and wasn't very uniformly placed. One other thing about the UI, after I clicked on the inventory buttons and would press A or D, it automatically used my keyboard's input to select buttons to the left or right, eventually selecting the exit button, quitting the game for me when I pressed the spacebar to jump :(. (to fix this, disable the Navigation on your buttons (I also noticed that the hearts were selectable)). Last thing about the ui is that when the text overlapped, it was pretty unreadable, and the inventory could use some clarity. One of the reasons I didn't end up playing to the end was the distance that I had to travel just to sell my items at the shop. However, I think that the shop adds a lot to the game for sure. My favorite part was when the environment and music changed with each different area, that was really cool. Overall, there's a lot that can be improved upon here, but I think that with a few minor tweaks, the user experience and clarity would be much improved. Great job! |
| Apr 7 20:23:28 | 9m 54s | Fia Fuel | ♥ 2 | I FOUND THE SECRET O2! That was pretty cool. I just fazed through the ground like in Metroid. I like the thematic music, it could definitely use some polish in the visual and audio categories, but I did like that it was consistent. (there's beauty in the simplicity) I would say that it feels a bit like a walking simulator in the beginning. Maybe if it got to the action faster it would hook more players in the beginning? Overall, well done! |
| Apr 7 20:37:05 | 13m 37s | The Mine Beckons | ♥ 1 | This game is addicting, and I would say it has so much that can be done to improve the experience. For one, if you just added some satisfying particles, hit animation, break sounds, and upgrade sounds, it would be game-changing. My one critique is that it is just a ton of pressing buttons. I was simply spamming WASD and then spamming the upgrade button. After there was nothing new after depth 110, I gave up, but that's where you could add some new mechanic or new shop item. There's a lot you could do here! |
| Apr 7 20:42:08 | 5m 03s | Into the Depths | ♥ 1 | I don't quite get it, but it seems interesting. Grabbing and letting go of the rope is interesting though. It could use some more sound effects I think, like the flashlight turning on, the moth getting you, and you falling to your death. Anyhow, it is definitely mysterious! |
| Apr 7 20:45:09 | 3m 01s | Dance To Heck | ♥ 2 | I like the Blackthornprod esc art style, and I appreciate the music! |
| Apr 7 20:57:27 | 12m 18s | Buried Under Profits | ♥ 1 | ooooo the mines I love them. That was satisfying. I like that the sounds are actually accurate to what you might hear underwater. Also, the ram attack is pretty sick. I think it's overall pretty polished, and yes, atmospheric! I also really like the font. Great job! |
| Apr 7 21:06:55 | 9m 28s | SINKING | ♥ 3 | Fun little experience! It was almost like a speed puzzle game, trying to figure out what to use on what and where. I do wish that there was a way to tell what could be picked up and what couldn't a bit easier without having to put your mouse over it. The biggest puzzle was the end when you have to use the _______ on the __________ to summon rescue! I also liked the lighthearted music; it almost gave me a sense of security! Good job! |
| Apr 7 21:20:30 | 13m 35s | Knocking On Hell's Door | ♥ 1 | Hey this is pretty cool. I like the music, I think it fits this style game. I do think that the bullet-time effect is a bit too long and happens before I can really shoot at anything, kind of hurting the flow of the game. I also think that some kind of response for when you hit an enemy would be game changing. You could also experiment with how and when the player gets different guns. Just saying, 1 rocket swarmer + 1 rocket swarmer = 🔥 Good job! |
| Apr 7 21:24:31 | 4m 01s | Sushi Pit | ♥ 1 | Like @thatsommes said, it annihilates my browser when I click play.. |
| Apr 7 21:44:21 | 19m 50s | Crabs in a Bucket | ♥ 1 | There's something about this game that is really great. I played for like 15 minutes. Though it's tempting to simply spam jump, it really shines when you take it slow, utilizing the boulders. I also find the fact that you managed to implement upgrades really impressive. I had a lot of fun with this one! |
| Apr 7 22:27:09 | 42m 48s | Escape from the Depths of Hell | ♥ 1 | Fittingly named New York Escape 😆 I do wish that there was some other mechanic to switch it up at some point. I'm pretty insane at the game as you can see Capture.JPG |
| Apr 7 22:37:13 | 10m 04s | if cows could fly | ♥ 1 | It would have been cool if the planet got closer as you got closer to the ground, but nice job anyhow |
| Apr 7 22:45:11 | 7m 58s | Voyage au centre de la Terre | ♥ 1 | Haha I liked your interpretation of the theme. I really liked when the book turned into your enemy in turn-based combat. Great idea to use a book to create a game! |
| Apr 7 22:53:04 | 7m 53s | Down climber (Pico-8) | ♥ 1 | Nice. It's a charming simplistic game! My only gripe is that the fall damage is a bit unforgiving. That last part was pretty frustrating for me, but I pushed through! Good job! |
| Apr 8 12:50:57 | 13h 57m | Punch Miner | ♥ 1 | Dang this is really unforgiving! I think that the beginning area should be a bit easier. Especially that first really long rope is very difficult to get past. Also, the movement is maybe a bit floaty for my liking. I also think that when you die, you should keep your money, even if the shop doesn't appear. Other than that, I think it's overall a pretty polished experience. I love the ropes; I wish there were more. I really like the sound effects though; they add a lot of character! I also really like the shop; I think it adds a lot and makes me want to continue playing. Perhaps you could add some kind of acceleration or handling upgrade. Somehow, I was able to buy the lantern for only $44, but I'm not complaining. Solid entry! |
| Apr 12 00:11:12 | 83h 20m | Depth of Field | ♥ 0 | What a full and wholesome experience! Definitely a wonderful use of the theme (I actually had thought about doing something similar). Not only that, but it was funny! |
| Apr 12 00:32:25 | 21m 13s | Antz vs Plantz | ♥ 2 | Quite well done! I liked that there were a nice variety of towers and that they gradually unlocked. I would have like to have a better indicator as to when the depth would increase, but maybe that's just part of the game. I also think that there was a good amount of strategy involved in where you place your towers as well. Only thing is that I personally didn't appreciate the curse word being permanently on the screen. Also, I didn't intuitively know these mechanics until after reading the description: You can place Plantz on top of other plants to overwrite them! You can click on ants to damage them a little… You can click on coins to pick them up! Great entry nonetheless! |
| Apr 16 16:51:55 | 112h 19m | RainDrops | ♥ 1 | Really interesting idea! I got to the end, but only after reading the comments and realizing that you can RMB to throw balls! I still really like the mood, and it is a really polished prototype! Great job! |
