| Oct 8 21:11:32 | Multimorph | ♥ 0 | Screenshot 2024-10-08 220823.png Nice! Is that Conway's Game of life or did you create something unique but similar? It looks awesome, especially when you have to squeeze yourself through a tiny gap to progress! Very cool that you managed to turn it into a game. Some of the gaps were quite harsh but I guess that's what you get with random 🆙 Some sound/music would be nice, and I think a fullscreen version would look cooler - but nice game as is :) | |
| Oct 10 22:55:13 | 49h 43m | HATCH | ♥ 3 | Nice classic pinball game, had some good classic vibe! I think it was a little bit too easy though, only used a single ball through to the "ending", and similar to what Cliff said, I was a bit surprised that it ended rather than something happening and allowing me to keep increasing my score. I think it looks really cool though, and reminds me a lot of that old windows pinball game - nice entry! |
| Oct 10 23:17:29 | 22m 16s | I'm a Porter for the Worst Dungeon Party in the World | ♥ 5 | I seek inner peace. Fun game - accidentally didn't remember to use dash the first couple of times and it made the game very difficult! 😅 Especially the room just before the ending, it was quite difficult to see inside. But with the dash it was much more satisfying, getting the blade to spin through enemies then hopping out of the way! Very pretty game of course, nice animation too - very good effort for a jam! And the voices and sound effects were well executed and funny :P I liked the literal 'carry' concept, and it was well executed - I thought from the description that it might have been too much of a chore, but it was very fun to play with the different abilities - which all had their downsides. Great entry! Screenshot 2024-10-11 001236.png |
| Oct 11 23:49:05 | 24h 31m | Goober Goblins: A Nose Picking Simulator | ♥ 2 | That was tricker than I thought it would be, probably took me about 5 or 6 attempts to win 😅 It took me a while to realise what the wiping mechanic was for. Thoroughly disgusting game too, the art was really well done and made me gag xD Very unique entry, now I can gamify my nose picking |
| Oct 13 21:43:33 | 45h 54m | Hivemind | ♥ 1 | Nice, cool idea and well done making a 3d game for your first LD! Quite a lot of work for one person, and the game was fun. I played through it a few times, I think I got my best score just using the minions as more health bar though, I found it was quite difficult to actually make use of them to kill the hornets (although spamming them down to quickly destroy a nest then picking them back up was quite successful). I think some simple sound and some form of progression to stop it just being an endless 'get as many points as possible' game would go a long way to make it feel higher quality. Nice entry! :) |
| Oct 15 19:02:36 | 45h 19m | Gnome Cargo | ♥ 1 | Very pretty graphics, although I did find the flat background quite difficult to navigate as it was difficult to see the slopes and water depth - also made me feel a bit motion sick weirdly! The sound is also very nice, makes the game feel complete - you didn't really leave anything out even with the compo constraints! I also found the controls a bit difficult (I think I was expecting 'steering' controls where W accelerates you and A/D turn you left/right). Coupled with the short 'look-ahead' distance I often found myself running into a gnome that I didn't really feel I had any chance to avoid. Really impressive compo entry though (especially as a first time using godot) it feels very complete! (Also before quitting the game I went on a mad gnome killing spree racking up loads of debt and that was fun too :P) |
| Oct 15 23:07:27 | 4h 04m | Creeping Steel | ♥ 0 | I just want to check: there are many places where it seems I should be able to jump to (like the ramp in the room at the end of the second pipe) but I don't seem to be able to jump high enough. Is that supposed to be that I need to find a different way, or is the jump height/gravity maybe somehow dependent on frame rate? Game looks & sounds really good though! Very atmospheric |
| Oct 18 20:26:25 | 69h 18m | A Taste for Nuts | ♥ 1 | Nice, very cute game! My mice are sleeping soundly. Its very nicely done, there is quite a lot going on. I found it fun at the beginning, where it was multitasking the collection of wood to build the love shack, berries to not starve to death and acorns for the goal. Towards the end it felt like there wasn't much to do except explore for acorns, and I found the controls to be a bit finnicky as mice would get stuck on top of each other in the same square and I wouldn't be able to separate them. It did almost have a frostpunk vibe with having to explore further and further to get resources! And it's quite a short game so it didn't get old. I liked the music and graphical style, there were nicely suited to the game and gave it a very cozy feel. Nice entry! |
| Oct 18 20:35:58 | 9m 33s | Time to Smash | ♥ 1 | Now I feel like a monster, killing all these cute things. The way that only the blood has colour is a nice art style (even though it is brutal). I really like the way the music matches the gameplay - its a nice touch! Simple, but well executed! High score 83 |
| Oct 20 18:18:31 | 45h 42m | Hooverfield | ♥ 1 | Ha, cute concept - hope you're feeling better! The hero camera was really nicely done, it made mowing down the (adorable) dust bunnies feel very dramatic. I thought creating boxes was broken - but actually I think that its just surprising how big the area has to be (and its difficult to actually draw one big enough. Nice job making this fun minigame despite being ill! |
| Oct 20 18:32:58 | 14m 27s | Tiny Creatures Creator | ♥ 1 | First thought: How on earth is a game with no graphics 270MB?!? I guess a fully voice-acted script is the reason! xD Very funny, but I did find the 'main' quest to be a bit tedious, given its just the same thing over and over. The 'support' line was funny. I had a good time and enjoyed - interesting entry! |
| Oct 20 18:50:23 | 17m 25s | The Sloth Machine | ♥ 1 | Looks really good graphically - nice style, and the audio suited the game really well. I played through a few times, but it seemed the best strategy was to just not buy anything from the shop, because otherwise the increase in spin cost kills you. It would be nice if there was some kind of visual which helped explain how the scoring worked (like a real slot machine). Nice entry! |
| Oct 20 19:08:42 | 18m 19s | It's all about the swarm | ♥ 1 | Wow, this was really difficult! I struggled even on the easy level, and I tried many times to complete the hard level and only managed it by rushing past the final enemies! Boss level I just wasn't able to reach the end. I found it was really difficult to aim the 'normal' attacks, they seemed to fly off in any direction which was usually not towards the nearest enemy. Game looks really cool though - I had the same lag issues as others, but it did seem to settle down after playing for a few minutes. I like the funny back stories too. Nice entry! |
| Oct 20 19:16:18 | 7m 36s | Run Ant Run | ♥ 2 | I got a score of 6264! Very nice effort making the engine from scratch, that's a great achievement! You really get a sense of speed as you get faster and faster, and the environments look pretty. I do agree with the above posters though - you're not allowed to use precreated/external assets for a compo game - I think you can change the entry to a 'Jam' entry if you edit it though (and you can use precreated/external assets for a Jam game if you opt out of the category). |
| Oct 20 19:33:07 | 16m 49s | Hellgate | ♥ 1 | I had a really fun time playing this, it was really tense zipping around trying to close all the gates, trying to path and be as accurate as I could! Gameplay was very good. Graphics were simple but look nice, and I'm glad you managed to get a bit of audio done too. I wish the game preserved momentum a bit more, I think it would be fun to 'ski' across the roofs after you zip to them. It also seems like the jump was not particularly useful (and often didn't seem to work when on a slanted roof). Excellent jam entry though, I had a great time playing it! |
| Oct 20 19:54:20 | 21m 13s | Snow Globe Grand Duel | ♥ 1 | Game looks and sounds fantastic, I really like the style, nice job! The animations are really cute too. I did find the controls a bit tricky, like the spinning ball creatures would stick to me then fly off in a direction I didn't intend, even when I wasn't holding space. I found it very difficult to aim them, so I found the best strategy was to just skate around as fast as possible whacking them and hoping for the best. I also felt like it was a bit too difficult to 'fail', like my health bar is huge, and so there isn't really much penalty for letting creatures raid your village. Overall, nice entry though! |
| Oct 20 20:06:10 | 11m 50s | Duke Flywalker's Crap-tastic Adventure | ♥ 2 | I am a poo collecting master! Fun concept - I found that it was easy to get stuck on the corner when trying to climb over things with poo on your back. Especially the level with the kitchen sink and the brown stacks. I thought I was missing something but I think it was just a glitch and I had to hammer left and right until I was unstuck. Nice little platformer |
| Oct 20 20:21:33 | 15m 23s | Jellyfish climb up | ♥ 1 | Screenshot 2024-10-20 211359.png Nice simple, smooth game! I think this would have been great on a touchscreen - I thought with a mouse it was a bit frustrating that I had to hold down left click and couldn't just move the mouse. Graphics and music are very cute, and the physics felt really responsive - nice that they slowly introduced the next 'level' then dropped it with full gravity. It was quite tricky at times though. Very cute, I enjoyed it |
| Oct 22 23:32:13 | 51h 10m | Zanymen: Tiny Town | ♥ 2 | Wow there is a lot of writing here, so many unique characters (and voices), and they keep coming! I like the chill vibe and little stories you put together. The music fits really well, and gives a really peaceful atmosphere. The way that children are created as a blend of their parents is a really nice subtle touch! I assume the game keeps going on for ever - I currently have 3 little guys harvesting each of the 3 resources, another 3 who handle each building project, and the final few just wander around with nothing to assign him to. Over 3k in every resource :P Imho, I think it would be nice if you didn't have to click on people to tell them what to do, and that was instead just the conversation/child mechanic. Since I basically just have 3 (seems to be the max) on each resource, and the rest go to my current building, there isn't much strategy there, and I only end up talking to the floaters, and never the resource slaves :P Given that the people don't actually take any continuous resource to support, and there is nothing to build except houses to bring in new people, I assume I'm in a win state where nothing else happens. Very nice polished & complete entry though, good job! |
