Super fun and simple to play! I love how the difficulty ramps up with the timer. The art and music are absolutely adorable. Great job!

@kilig Thanks for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

egawag 2024-10-13 19:27

I loved the simple style, the ramping in speed, and the little blood splats! got 69.

mirtol 2024-10-13 19:28

Yeah, it suddenly got exciting when it sped up :) Nice!

danielkozlov 2024-10-13 19:29

Really fun game, I liked the audio my high score is 75

nikor 2024-10-13 19:45

I really like that the music follows the game play. It is a fun detail :)

@egawag Thanks and great score!

@mirtol Glad you like it :) I also think the change of pace is a nice surprise.

@danielkozlov Wow, good job! I barely reach 70, but I think I need a better mouse :laughing:

@nikor Yeah, it was one of those last minute ideas I had and very simple to do. I just increased the speed of the same music in fl studio and it sounded hilarious :smile:

simple game yet fun and effective, great job!

ciaranw 2024-10-18 20:35

Now I feel like a monster, killing all these cute things. The way that only the blood has colour is a nice art style (even though it is brutal).

I really like the way the music matches the gameplay - its a nice touch!

Simple, but well executed!

High score 83

mibro 2024-10-18 20:43

Nice increase in the spawn rate at the end! I had just settled into a rhythm when it started.

roka-josh 2024-10-18 20:50

Simple, fun, well made, great entry!

zubspace 2024-10-18 20:51

@benjaminm Thanks for playing :heart:

@ciaranw Thank you! Yeah, I'm bad at color palettes, so I thought nothing can go wrong if I only use one color :laughing: You're highscore is awesome! Good job!

@mibro Hehe, I think I overdid the total number of spawns in the end :sweat_smile: I've never been to the jungle, but I'm sure it must be like exactly like that.

@roka-josh Thank you! Happy you enjoyed it :heart:

A fun and simple game. Ramping up the music speed and increasing the number of creatures part-way is a nice touch. Having a sound for creatures appearing was nice, but using a different sound per type of creature would work better for communicating where it is likely to have appeared. My best score in 2 runs was 45. Thanks for sharing!

this is what aimlabs should of been

carraka 2024-10-19 03:07

I felt so terrible the first time I caused a blood splatter...but you know...the allure of seeing numbers go up is way too strong. Having the music speed up along with the game was absolutely delightful. And I am further resolved to never go to the jungle. The virtual experience is stressful enough. :D

Like the others have mentioned, the speeding up of the game after certain points was a good thing. The music changing with the speed of the level was also a cool detail.

The visuals are very simple, but you can see everything very clear, which is important in this kind of game. I like this style. The little waterfall animation is nice. Seeing the little red blood stains on the black and white screen is a neat component of the graphics.

Having a bit more variety in the sound effects (hitting an animal and having a little death sound) would be a nice addition. The "spawn sounds" like the fish-water-sound is well made, but compared to the music it is pretty hard to hear.

It's nice that you get to see your highscore at the end and also get a "title" along with it. :)

I was thinking "man, this is fun but I wish there were a few more bugs to swat" and then it sped up :D simple but incredibly effective! This would make such a great mobile game, and I loved the contrast between the cute little creatures and the blood splats afterwards.
