Apr 16 06:38:47 Demon Chalk ♥ 3 This is really good! The sound when you create the circles is really satisfying, and because you have so much chalk juice you don't need to make that perfect circle. Unless you want to have it big of course, but I like that this automatically gives you the option for different strategies. The cards are a cool addition, giving some variety to the gameplay as well. My only complaints are that I'm not sure when I get a new card, and that the pacing is a bit slow. But I really like that you have a leaderboard. Great music as well. Amazing job!
Apr 16 19:13:04 12h 34m Salmoning ♥ 6 Lovely game! I really liked biking around the town. The mechanics feel good, and it's just funny looking like a silly salmon on a bike. I would've liked a time limit for the tasks, for something more of a challenge. It's really cool that you made online multiplayer. The music is a bit too short. I think changing the pitch between a number of repeats is an easy way to get a bit more variety. The 3D pixel art (or however you call that art style) is really cute. Well done!
Apr 16 21:13:08 2h 00m Summoning of Qasimar ♥ 1 Unfortunately I was not able to figure out the solution. I think I got some symbols correct, but wasn't able to figure out all of them. I think one big improvement would be preventing the player from repeating a sequence they have already done, resulting in getting the same hint. I don't remember who I asked what. Also it's annoying I can only go forwards in the book, so if I want to go back and forth I need to close the book and open it again. That all said, I really like the vibe. The summoning is cool, and apart from the fact that I can't figure it out, I do like how cryptic everything is. I think with some improvements this could be a really cool puzzle!
Apr 16 22:05:26 52m 18s Etsa Djavul ♥ 1 I really like these type of language games. It's fun to figure out which symbols need to be used for the new word. It is unfortunate that the drawing mechanic has some issues. I got stuck on kabamlum, the first level with three symbols. I've tried many times, but was not able to draw them in such a way the game approved. I really like the sound effect and the shaking as you draw!
Apr 16 23:18:17 1h 12m Elemental Surge ♥ 2 This is quite fun! I was surprised by how many enemies appeared after doing the tutorial. On the one hand that makes for a fun challenge, but on the other hand it was hard to strategize with the mechanics, like combining three elements. After a while I was basically spamming the circle, hoping it would work. The music is nice, and I like the character design of the player. The only thing I'm not sure is what the blue potions were for. Nice music by the way!
Apr 17 01:47:50 2h 29m Chain Reaction ♥ 3 Fun idea! I feel like the symbol drawing could be a bit smoother. Sometimes I feel like it gets stuck or something, and isn't drawing what I want. And I get that there is a time limit for the highscore, but I would have liked a separate game mode without time limit, just to see how crazy I can make this ecosystem. The monster designs are cool! Would be nice if the different monsters have different strength (maybe they do?) but it's Ludum Dare, so totally understand things like that didn't get in. The dashing and knockback feels nice. The music sounds cool, though feels a bit out of place. Well done on a good game!
Apr 17 04:16:58 2h 29m Summons Sprint ♥ 2 Simple but solid. I wouldn't mind if I had less time to finish. My headcanon is that this guy has to go to court so much because of his reckless driving :')
Apr 17 04:27:46 10m 48s Hot Wax 🕯️ ♥ 1 I liked it! It was fun to make very long candles to then have them burn all the way down. The game revolves around score, but I wish it was more focussed on survival. Meaning that I would have preferred a long burn not to give you more points, but to give you a bonus instead that help you keep your field low (like those bombs). But regardless of that, another solid entry with nice graphics.
Apr 17 05:02:41 34m 55s wiz ♥ 0 It's a nice idea, but I have the same problem I had with windowkill that the pacing is too slow for my taste. It takes a while before it gets really difficult, and when you die you don't feel like trying again, because it takes so long to get to the difficult part again. But it is a solid game. I do like how the mechanic has a nice risk/reward balance. The snake-like creature looks cool, and I like the simplistic artstyle overall. Great job as always!
Apr 17 05:23:20 20m 39s A small ode ♥ 2 Nice game! Unfortunate that there isn't an actual ending, but it was fun to explore the world. Though I mostly abused the trick where I spawn a jelly fish above me and then jump right away :')
Apr 17 08:55:12 3h 31m notepad game ♥ 0 @creeperyeet666999 There are no files or links
Apr 17 21:50:34 12h 55m Tiny Summons ♥ 1 Really cool that you made a Twitch Plays game! The art style and music are cute and it all just works! The only complaint I have is that it would have been nice to see how many players in each team, or at least have some way to bond with my team members. But other than that it's a simple but solid Twitch Plays game. Great job!
Apr 17 22:25:11 34m 37s CHAZM ♥ 1 Highscore not found chazm_score.png Fun game! I'm impressed you managed to make the power ups so balanced. You can't just use the more expensive option because it's better, you need to make sure that you will get more out of it. The music is really good, as well as the sound effects increasing as you get a higher multiplier. Just a really solid and fun arcade game. Great job!
Apr 18 01:31:08 3h 05m Bendirat ♥ 2 Unfortunate that you weren't able to properly finish it. I really liked the vibe of the game. It's a bit annoying that to trigger the dialogue again I need to leave and enter the same area (I don't think there is another way?). I'm very curious as to what the answer was to the door puzzle. Cool plot twist though!
Apr 18 04:53:29 3h 22m Seance ♥ 4 Holy shit, Alex, what a game! When you were asking for a whole bunch of voice actors, I initially thought that was more of a gimmick, like a "I do it because I can" situation, but I underestimated how much it helps with getting you immersed in the story. If it was text only, I might not have enjoyed it as much. The murder mystery is very good. You really need to go back and forth between all the characters (well except Altmann, rip). There were moments I got stuck. Those moments did have me end up trying things at random, but the eventual solution I found was always one that made sense, I just hadn't thought of asking that person about that particular thing before. I was a bit confused by the ending. I read your head canon. [rot13]V guvax gb fryy gung lbh pbhyq unir rzcunfvmrq zber ba gur snpg gung ur jnf penml, naq gung ur arrqf uryc. V thrff gung vf nyernql fnvq jvgu gur snpg gung ur unf n gurencvfg, ohg fgvyy.[/rot13] The art looks amazing. The fuzziness around the ghost was a bit distracting at the beginning, but I guess it does add to the ghostiness. Though I'm not sure if that was intentional. Besides the big artwork of the ghosts and the detective, the small artworks of the clues are also really cool. The candle flickering is neat, and even the ouija board had a cool design. I was a bit confused about the elaborate/keep going. I feel like you would always want to elaborate. At least the first time you are entering that path of dialogue. Other than that I had no issue with any of the mechanics. I hope your game gets a final rating that it deserves, and is not affected too much by people only playing it for 5 minutes. If someone asks how good and big of a game you can make in 72 hours, I think this will be a great example to show them.
Apr 18 05:42:10 48m 41s Demon Doodles ♥ 2 A nice symbol drawing game! The doodles are cute and funny. One bit of feedback: At the end you went for very complicated symbols, and while it is funny to throw the player off with a symbol like that, I think it's more fun for the player if they actually get a challenge they can complete. How complicated the symbol was and how much time you got for it often didn't seem to match. That said, I did enjoy it! And the music was nice as well.
Apr 18 14:50:09 9h 07m Nose Deep In A Book ♥ 1 Unfortunately I was not able to figure out the solutions, and ended up using the spoilers. I like the idea, but I think everything is just a bit too cryptic to figure out. It also doesn't help that the order of the symbols is important. Creating the symbols also was something that took a while to understand. I do like the idea of combining the knowledge of the different books to figure out the solution, but often I'm just not sure what the book is telling me. I like the graphics, and the character design is nice. It's funny how we walk around like that, and the poor man either needs to retire or do some more exercising. I think with a bit more handholding in the books, there is definitely potential here. Either way a job well done on this game!
Apr 18 21:08:28 6h 18m The Gateway ♥ 2 It's unfortunate that the audio quality of the voicelines is so bad, but I'm gonna assume that's something you can't do much about. Though it would have been nice if you increased the volume at least. The long distances between the characters means you need to do a lot of walking, and even more walking if you don't know the order of the characters you need to talk to. The voice lines are funny, but it would have been nice if it was possible to skip them somehow, and that you don't need to wait till the end of the audio before you get the thing they give you. I wasn't sure what to do at the end, other than survive as long as possible.
Apr 19 01:18:47 4h 10m Soul Purpose ♥ 2 I'm not really a visual novel guy, and because of the lack of gameplay this did feel more like a visual novel. That's also why I really liked the addition of the customer support job. It's unfortunate that that went by so fast. It's funny how you keep summoning Dave.
Apr 19 01:29:33 10m 46s A Grave Mistake ♥ 1 I really struggled with this game. I think what threw me off is that I was looking for logic in what spirits appear depending on where you dug, when there isn't one. I think because of the way this page says 'try applying the scientific method'. It's a cool puzzle for sure, just wondering if a tad more information would have been nice. The art and music are great by the way, and I really like the overall vibe.
Apr 19 01:40:21 10m 48s theGRIMOIRE_ ♥ 1 I tried really hard but I have not been able to beat those last two puzzles. This game is tough! Really interesting mechanic with the `mirror and the spectre. I wonder what other type of mechanics you could have to make it even more complicated. Even if you did not make the art and music yourself, you were able to put together a cool vibe, and I like how the arrows appear on the left. Welcome back to game jamming :)
Apr 19 01:43:41 3m 20s MATLAB ♥ 1 It's unfortunate that there were so few levels. I think there is definitely more to explore here. The portal parody was funny, though I will always encourage people to find their own style. It would have been nice if the blocks you summon could be picked up somehow, but maybe that's part of the game that you can't. Either way, I enjoyed it!
Apr 19 01:51:30 7m 49s Call The Abyss ♥ 2 I do like the idea, but you just went a little off with the execution. It takes way too many resources to spawn a single monster, and they die quite fast if you're not careful. Being able to place them anywhere is a nice idea, but in that case they shouldn't be able to get stuck on a tree. Because that can cause them to move out of position, which is annoying. I think it's cool you got so many different types of enemies!
Apr 19 01:56:16 4m 46s Illusions of Grandeur ♥ 1 I really liked this game! There were moments where I thought I knew how the game worked, placed a tile, only to be surprised that it would be placed in a different way than I had imagined. Somehow that was fun rather than frustrating. I kept thinking I knew the rules, and it was funny how I was proven wrong. The puzzles have a nice balance to them for that "aha!" moment. The art is cute, and I like the starry background.
Apr 19 02:04:39 8m 23s Brew Some Unique & Appetizing Potions! ♥ 1 I really liked this game! Definitely something I could see myself play on the phone while in public transit. It feels like a match three, but it definitely doesn't play like a match three. It's such a good feeling when you get a combo, and definitely when you're able to make multiple. This game is also a good example of how simple art doesn't need to be bad art. I love it, and the music is nice as well. Awesome job!
Apr 19 02:11:18 6m 39s Race to Kaiju ♥ 1 It's funny but also unfortunate how messy the game can get, with the enemy having so many ships on the same location. I wish it would have been more clear what all the information was. I like I wasn't sure of the ships were equally strong or not. It also would have been nice if I was able to cancel, after selecting a ship. But I do like the idea, and the race against the enemy. It's also cool how you got the animation of Kaiju blasting his laser or whatever.
Apr 19 02:13:54 2m 36s Lucky Little Darlings ♥ 1 I'm not really a visual novel type of guy, but I thought the drawings in the magazine were very cute, and I liked the minigame where you had to search for the items. The ending was also funny.
Apr 19 02:18:33 4m 39s Dungeon Summoner ♥ 1 I love these type of Ludum Dare games that are unpolished in such a way that it makes more fun. This is a game to be broken with many walls, turrets, and exploits you can find. It would have been nice if I was able to view how many lifes I have left. Anyway, cool that you have an online scoreboard. I'm very happy with 7th.
Apr 19 14:11:34 11h 53m Out of Chalk ♥ 1 I saw this being played on a stream, and instantly knew I had to try this for myself. What an absolutely lovely and creative idea! It was a lot of fun trying to figure out how to make the circles, and it never felt frustrating. Even when I was trying to form a circle with the many objects in the messy room, I did not blame the game that it took me a while to find the light switch. All the way I've just been enoying the concept too much for me to get mad. The texts are really funny, the music very relaxing, the sound effects are nice, and the artstyle is just lovely. Well done!
Apr 19 14:50:56 39m 22s Blåkulla ♥ 4 Great game as always! The symbol drawing and detecting is done really well, and it's cool that you have so many. The scrolling through the cards is quite sensitive. It would have been nice if I was able to press a number to get a set (e.g. press 2 for cards 4 to 6). I also felt like I was never really in danger, though I get you don't want to make it too hard, considering it's a game-jam game. The character design is cool, and so is the overall vibe, though I didn't understand the story completely. It's also cool that you have a boss fight! Graphics and music are amazing, but what else to expect from you guys? A job well done once again!
Apr 30 13:03:30 262h 12m The Royal Writ ♥ 1 When I read tactical card-game I was getting excited. Overwhelmed by all the explanation (which is nice that you can toggle it) I figured I'll just learn by playing the game. I'll place my cards, and will see how I mess up. But I didn't mess up. And in the next level I didn't either. I was able to beat the game by just placing cards at random basically, and that is unfortunate. I really like the art style, and the story is funny. It's amazing all the things you managed to do in such a short amount of time. I get wanting to make it easy, since it's a jam game, but a bit of challenge won't hurt.
May 4 18:13:20 101h 09m Merge or Die ♥ 0 I thought there was no challenge at first. It took me a while before I understood that it wasn't so easy after all. I think there's a really fun game concept to be found here. Do you merge the many twos already into a 5, or do you wait for the explosion, as it could destroy that single 5. It's unfortunate that the sound effects are a bit loud and annoying.
