| Jan 9 21:22:09 | Total Extinction | ♥ 1 | It's impressive you got it running on real hardware. It looks so good! The dinos even have unique sprites. It took a fair bit of time to catch them all. Shame it's a Jam game because I'd love to see how NES games are made nowadays. The black rectangle things [can be janky](https://static.jam.host/raw/f90/1/z/5598e.gif) | |
| Jan 9 22:29:35 | 1h 07m | The Bountiful | ♥ 1 | My only problem with this game is that it's about farming. You never disappoint, even with an early start time and an epically terrible theme. You packed a ton of content for a narrative compo game, including like a million character sprites. Though at some point mid-game it becomes a bit noticeable you ran out of time. Also I think you can't buy a seed if you have exactly $1 |
| Jan 9 23:53:17 | 1h 23m | Boba | ♥ 1 | Knowing your style, I thought this game was a forkbomb when windows started popping up. I think this is your best compo game yet, and perhaps the best idle game of all time. I have nothing negative to say about it, it's perfect |
| Jan 10 00:18:54 | 25m 37s | Dynia | ♥ 2 | I had a blast playing this game, and I wish it was a bit longer. And if this is the default behavior of rigid bodies in unity then lord have mercy on unity devs |

| Jan 10 01:08:58 | 6m 08s | Harvest Time | ♥ 0 | I couldn't get to the festival. The game is gorgeous but it lacks a tutorial |
| Jan 10 16:39:46 | 15h 30m | Soullector | ♥ 2 | Screenshot from 2023-01-10 17-32-18.png The combat wasn't particularly engaging, but traversing the labyrinth was fun on its own. A word for advice for this type of games: add shortcuts such as one-way doors or teleports, especially if the character's movement speed is low, because backtracking through the same corridors can be tedious. I love the music; it's very simple, but it fits the game. |
| Jan 10 17:23:53 | 44m 07s | Unalived | ♥ 2 | https://youtu.be/PKoRoBkVdHY Game needs a live timer and a restart button. |
| Jan 10 18:53:34 | 1h 29m | Eternal Harvest | ♥ 1 | Screenshot from 2023-01-10 19-19-47.png Fantastic. Compo puzzlers which make me feel like an idiot are so rare and so satisfying to beat. |
| Jan 10 19:33:26 | 39m 52s | Fallowtide | ♥ 1 | Great game with unique mechanics and tons of polished content for a compo game. The forced discard mechanic is brutal. I once had to discard either a goat or my only two hell cards. I bought a sacrifice, and I immediately had to discard a sacrifice. Meanwhile, I also had a two-tile wheat card for the entire game. The optimization factor stops being important once you get one or two goats, and it's amplified by the lack of a loss condition. It's a fun and relaxing game involving human sacrifice, which is an interesting dissonance! |
| Jan 11 08:41:42 | 13h 08m | Fairy Feeder | ♥ 4 | Flawless audiovisuals and a solid loop. Got to /80 when my wrist started to hurt. The amount of clicking required is unhealthy. There should be an autoclicker upgrade, or fairies should have a larger hitbox, or the game should have an accessibility option that doesn't involve clicking. Love how grapes can only grow on the tree but it took me a while to figure out. |
| Jan 11 17:35:10 | 8h 53m | Grim Harvester | ♥ 1 | Doesn't work on Wine, with or without dxvk |
| Jan 11 19:45:04 | 2h 09m | Cardwork Cycle | ♥ 1 | Another game that takes give or take an hour to beat (on normal, and I'm not going to replay it). I played until I bought all upgrades. The game reminded me why I don't play card video games, because I kept getting fully offensive hands in turns with no enemies and vice versa. The +2 damage card is completely useless on normal and I never used it once; by the time enemies started getting 3hp I already had much better cards. The loop is very nice and relaxing, and my problem with RNG is probably a "me" issue. |
| Jan 11 22:44:59 | 2h 59m | ZenBox | ♥ 1 | > If your game crashes it means that you’ve won! I don't know if it's supposed to be a joke, but the game crashed alongside the entire PC. The strain becomes really hard once the tree from the well grows big. Amazing visuals and concept, but movement in the 3D space was very uncomfortable, and a standard FPP camera would have done much better (or at least screen dragging shouldn't move the camera's XYZ). |
| Jan 13 17:23:20 | 42h 38m | Mind Harvest | ♥ 0 | Nice game but mobs really need those health bars |
| Jan 13 17:43:37 | 20m 17s | Maylee's Recipe | ♥ 1 | Beautifully looking game with some layering issues. I didn't notice the fourth field and won literally last second. |
| Jan 13 19:15:08 | 1h 31m | ASCII Farm | ♥ 0 | Screenshot from 2023-01-13 20-12-58.png With an endgame goal/threat, it would actually have been the best farming simulator I've played this event. Wish tools/crops had hotkeys. |
| Jan 15 20:35:43 | 49h 20m | Chloroblast | ♥ 2 | You should consider linking to itch because the LD embed didn't work for me. You made lot of nice pixel art and great audio. You say it's "stupid homemade sound effects" but it's actually some of the best sound design I've seen this event; very "snappy" and satisfying. The game itself is just your standard Flash-era tower defense, with a lot of extra clicking which I'm not a fan of. I like how plants have to grow for some time before you can use them, but click-mashing them just didn't feel good. Part of the appeal of TDs is getting to watch the sea of particles, and this game doesn't give you a lot of time and opportunity to do that, because your eyes are fixed at the flowerpots and there is hardly any rest time in between waves (a mistake I'm also guilty of). The game is also too easy with every single wave failing to pass through the first meander, except for Godzilla who survived for a few seconds longer. I made an entire second line of defense and it ended up unused. There's way too much pollen (I had 1k+ at the end), so my APM and the flowerpots were my only bottlenecks. But balancing jam games is next to impossible so it's not a big deal. Those are just some caveats I had, but overall I had a good time playing the game, great job! |
