Apr 4 07:40:21 Mighty Crossroad ♥ 2 Neat idea, the isometric look's charming, but gets pretty overwhelming right off the bat. Starting off with a smaller area and less severe time constraints, and maybe ramping that up over time (or maybe just a plain difficulty selection) could definitely help. Score: Had a good time/10
Apr 4 07:51:43 11m 22s Between My Shadows ♥ 2 Had a great time, very moody, the FMV parts really added to the atmosphere. Got small hiccups whenever I fired though (like 0.1 sec), not sure if that's just me
Apr 4 08:00:06 8m 23s Evacuation Station ♥ 1 Appreciate how the pace picks up over time, really makes you decide between trying to keep up with the smaller asteroids or going for the bigger ones to get powerups and potentially save more people later, fits the theme really nicely. Fun and simple, as compo games should be. Good job
Apr 4 09:27:32 1h 27m THE LAST HOPE ♥ 3 Spent some time just watching the little dudes roam about and do their stuff. Not much of a game, but fun concept. Small irrelevant bug report: the score keeps going up even when the game is paused for upgrades. Very chill, good job
Apr 4 10:32:59 1h 05m Rectangular Hell ♥ 1 Seems pretty simple at first but turns out there's some depth to positioning and picking your parry targets when things get more hectic. Definitely feels better on a controller than on the keyboard. Scored 124.84s like a chad. Simple and fun, arena shrinking was a fun gimmick, good job
Apr 4 10:47:59 15m 00s Living the Dream ♥ 1 This might just be a problem on my end, but I think Unreal's trying to run the game through VR or something? I'm getting an OpenComposite error and the game fails to launch. Again, no panic, might just be a problem on my end
Apr 4 11:04:49 16m 50s MooshiMooshi ♥ 1 Definitely on the simpler side, but pretty solid for a first game done in two days. Visuals are trippy, didn't encounter any bugs, no complaints. Good job
Apr 4 11:19:51 15m 02s Berserk ♥ 1 My man joins 12 hours late and still implements a full level editor, what an absolute madman. Too bad the sound effects got cut, the game could really use some hit feedback, maybe some knockback too. Combat in general feels a little stale, though I'm sure the stat upgrade system would help. That being said, this already seems like a great base to build up from, great job
Apr 4 11:34:54 15m 03s TARA ♥ 1 Simple, fun, has an upgrade called "butt". Amazing. Bomb upgrade definitely ended my run though, the firing speed nerf seems way too harsh considering the AoE is so small, that ratio could use some tweaking. Big points for having an actual scoreboard
Apr 4 16:27:07 4h 52m Gone Out West ♥ 1 Took me a while to realize where the healing/ammo towns were, those might be more clear if they were a part of the UI, the low poly style made me think they were just other generic buildings. That being said, a pretty robust amount of systems for a compo game. Gameplay's fun and varied, theme's great (if a little depressing), looks charming, good job
Apr 4 16:50:50 23m 43s Pay Up! ♥ 1 Absolutely love the style of this game. Gameplay and UI are intuitive, dialogue's great. Balancing's definitely the first thing I'd look at post-compo, game pretty quickly rolled into the territory where I had more money I could ever spend, and was just spamming random work to pass the time. Didn't bother me that much though, I had a great time playing. I rate this game "lost the wife and kid, got drunk and made -6$ pushing pencils" out of ten
Apr 4 17:16:15 25m 25s Musical Thrones ♥ 2 Taking on both rhythm games and a bunch of different gameplay types seems like a scary undertaking for a compo, full of little pitfalls to fall into, but you pulled it off. Music slaps, minigames are fun and intuitive, rhythm elements were used very well. Had a great time, would play again, good job
Apr 4 19:12:24 1h 56m Over the Rainbow Bridge ♥ 2 Sobbing/10
Apr 4 19:24:38 12m 14s Venting Machine ♥ 1 Looks great, classic formula, remember playing these games all the time. Style, execution, all fantastic. The name alone deserves an A+
Apr 5 20:48:24 25h 23m Candler ♥ 1 Simple, fun, really solid execution for a first game, especially considering it was made in 30 hours. Good job
Apr 6 12:38:49 15h 50m Dont Sleep ♥ 1 Absolutely in love with the art and concept. Had some visual problems though, some of the text was cut off 'cause of the window size, and resizing the window seemed to break something (Windows_w_Java.zip, 144Hz) Screenshot 2022-04-06 153403.jpg Still, had a great time, very chill, great job. Making your own engine is super impressive
Apr 6 12:51:22 12m 33s GameJam Tycoon ♥ 1 "A popular youtuber found your game taking too much ram and has declared your game as gay. Higher ups requested you to put some extra hours studying heterosexual memory management in c++. You will not be paid extra for this." I am sobbing, 10/10
Apr 6 12:58:59 7m 37s Frame Buster ♥ 1 Probably my favorite use of the theme so far, I'm dying. This would be a great twist to all those PC benchmarking scoreboards
Apr 6 13:13:56 14m 57s 50 Second Apocalypse ♥ 1 This project's got it all. Fantastic use of the theme, gameplay feels great, art/sounds super charming, feels pretty polished. Loved it, great job
Apr 6 13:27:12 13m 16s Lycoris ♥ 2 And he slumbered for 48 hours straight. Sweet dreams and take care, don't push yourself too hard
Apr 6 13:55:56 28m 44s Zom-Beware! ♥ 1 Probably my biggest time sink of all the compo games so far. Boardgame aesthetic was great, lots of replay value from exploring the mechanics and strategies. Only minor gripe I had was that the board pieces block mouse raycasts (I'm assuming?) when trying to move other pieces, so a few times I had to move one piece out of the way so I could get another one into position. All in all, great entry, fantastic job
Apr 10 15:37:48 97h 41m Rising wind Island ♥ 1 Perfect score for style, gameplay's simple but fun, although "the inevitable" might be a little less than advertised considering I reached high enough to escape the background graphics. Great use of the theme, lots of directions to take this post-jam, all in all a great entry and I had a great time, good job
Apr 11 20:46:55 29h 09m A Halting Problem ♥ 1 Had a great time, the puzzle design and progression was pretty impressive for a compo game, seemed very deliberate and purposeful. Would definitely need to save the command stack between failed attempts though, if the puzzles got any more complex. Fun, intuitive, neat idea, all-around great entry. Good job
Apr 12 14:21:05 17h 34m It Will Die Too ♥ 1 Like others said, super neat concept. While having more instructions for the game might've been nice, I also really liked figuring it out by myself, it added to the mysterious atmosphere floating over the game. Could be a really interesting little indie title with more dev time. Bank on the mystery and discovery, maybe move away from the combat a little into a more story driven format, could fit the command like aesthetic perfectly? Anyway, really impressive for a first entry, had a great time, good job
