| Apr 5 01:11:08 | Cards of the Cosmos | ♥ 3 | Great jam submission! I love how fluid the deck and drawing cards mechanics were. Worked very well for such little time. I could have used more visual feedback (buttons, effects) to know when I needed to end my turn or had clicked a button. The music was a little simple as well, but overall, I enjoy the game. | |
| Apr 5 01:13:31 | 2m 23s | Fritten Madness Extreme - Winter Edition | ♥ 2 | Truthfully, I couldn't figure out how to move. The snowmen just stayed still and blew up. I will give a rating if I can figure it out. Love the n64 aesthetic though! EDIT: I was using arrow keys. Turns out it was WASD and spacebar. Rated. |
| Apr 5 01:29:44 | 16m 13s | It's Not Me It's You | ♥ 3 | Absolutely loved it! Hilarious concept, well-executed on theme, and the atmosphere was quite something. |
| Apr 5 02:04:09 | 34m 25s | Cold and Alone | ♥ 1 | Honestly wild you got this done in 3 days. Thanks for reviewing my game-- I had to do you the same favor, and I'm glad I did! |
| Apr 5 16:16:34 | 14h 12m | Doomsday Run | ♥ 2 | You got me with the fakeout "doomsday"! Definitely got a laugh out of me. The core game loop worked well, and I liked that you had a high scores list. The music was moody and fit the theme. I think the art and rendering seemed a bit squished with the aspect ratio, and the side-bars were a bit too big (I couldn't see people coming from the left and right) but overall a great jam submission! |
| Apr 5 16:22:39 | 6m 05s | Impending Doom | ♥ 1 | Amazing job for your first jam game. Worked pretty well! Honestly, I feel like it could have been a bit more difficult/longer, but I know managing time and getting everything done early in jams is a difficult task. The main thing I would have wanted was more focus on the UX. An options menu, some way of lowering or muting the music. |
| Apr 6 08:13:44 | 15h 51m | Gnomon | ♥ 1 | The lack of sound feedback when casting orbs, activating pillars, etc. was a bit frustrating. I found myself confused if I was doing anything. I got stuck on a lot of level geometry, and felt like even if it was unnecessary there should have been a jump. Lastly, the text at the beginning scrolled very slowly and I accidentally disabled the text by clicking, so I was unsure what I was doing on my first go. I was very impressed with the bad ending. I liked the djinn, and it was well done. Overall, I was impressed with what you got done by yourself especially if you did the art and animations solo. I felt that there could have been more attention to a few details that would have made the game a lot more immersive with little overall needed additionally, but still! :) |
| Apr 6 08:20:29 | 6m 45s | The Apocawiz | ♥ 3 | Loved it! Had a grand olde time. Good humor, great minimalist animations especially with the variety, and the music was kind of a bop. Wish there were some alternate fire methods for the fireball (hitting spacebar got hard when I wanted to spam it and focus on dodging) and I think the font didn't mesh well (and the timer was pretty small for how important it was). Was really impressed with the different boss logic you put together cohesively in the time given. Overall, great job! Super impressed you did this solo. |
| Apr 6 08:28:15 | 7m 46s | Arboressence | ♥ 1 | Really impressed with the artwork, and how well the game ran. Definitely felt like I had a lack of options and feedback, and the UI was lacking (the top left was unclear as to what was being communicated). Je parle un peu de français, but seeing all the descriptions and jam pages in English and then trying to code-switch to French when the game started up made me lose track of some of the info. Bon jeu, quand même! J'ai créé un jeu à propos d'un arbre aussi ;) |
| Apr 6 19:41:16 | 11h 13m | Erefos | ♥ 4 | Great game! Only grip was how slow I moved. I kept feeling like the character wanted to go faster, but he just walked along at the same pace. |
| Apr 8 04:52:16 | 33h 11m | Cosmic Contact | ♥ 2 | Pretty interesting experience! If it was a bit more polished, I could see you building it out into a full narrative. As it is, I felt you nailed the mood. Not sure how it fit the theme but well done. |
| Apr 8 04:58:14 | 5m 58s | The Saga of Thorbjorn Olafsson | ♥ 1 | I encountered quite a few bugs and glitches unfortunately, and I think you may have been better off sticking to one "area" than making three, but I liked the concept and the setpieces I did see were very pretty! Reminded me of Alt+F4. |
| Apr 8 05:04:28 | 6m 14s | Cubic Defence | ♥ 1 | I was excited by the art style when I saw it, and the amount of work you put in to communicating the information on the page. I think the game was held back by a lack of cohesive-ness in the systems and graphics, and the fact that you had to put all the information up on the page instead of making it accessible in the game. The main aspects of the core game loop were nice, but the systems that held them together frustrated me a bit. The lack of feedback and indicators while placing turrets, the font not fitting in with the rest of the graphics, and the core loop of having to gather materials manually just didn't excite me as much as I hoped it would. I am impressed with what you got done in the time allotted, though! |
| Apr 8 05:09:17 | 4m 49s | BOULDER | ♥ 1 | Great adherence to the theme! The game definitely fit it. As for criticism, I found the dash not very useful, and while the slight delay before moving the boulder may have been a conscious decision, it made me confused as to whether or not I had to press or hold space to move it, so I ended up floundering for a few minutes before realizing how best to control it. Loved the overall atmosphere. |
| Apr 8 05:25:07 | 15m 50s | Anya's Valley | ♥ 1 | It took me quite some time to figure out what was going on, and I had to restart a few times to read the dialogue which moved a bit too slow for my liking since hitting E would skip it instead of make it finish the type-writer effect first. The only major things I would change are that, and the fact that the visuals pause when talking to someone. The visual style was very cohesive, I think you fit the theme loosely but well, and you did a great job for being solo in the time allotted! Reminded me of stardew :) |
| Apr 8 05:29:30 | 4m 23s | Day of the Flame - LD 50 | ♥ 1 | Loved the mouth sounds and main character. My only real gripes were that the wall-jumping didn't feel very good, no sound or music in the final boss fight, and it was too short! Really liked the core concept overall and the spritework was fantastic. |
| Apr 8 05:42:00 | 12m 30s | Balloon Rush 2 | ♥ 2 | Loved the hand-drawn style. I wish there was more visual feedback when charging to show what direction the gust was going to go. I was a bit confused as to how it was calculated. And perhaps a sound effect! The music was very good and I love the simplicity of the game along with the addition of a leaderboard. |
| Apr 8 05:45:22 | 3m 22s | Don't Let Them Sit There | ♥ 1 | Pretty hilarious game. I might have gone with a different font, but I loved everything else! Made me chuckle. |
| Apr 8 05:49:27 | 4m 05s | Nyan Tower | ♥ 4 | Really great entry! Haven't seen many typing games in a hot minute. The hitbox for the mice/grabbing items seemed a bit inconsistent. Really well thought out, with the music, the art, etc. Great job! |
| Apr 8 05:55:10 | 5m 43s | Protocol Delta | ♥ 1 | Good minimalist graphics style. Felt pretty good to play. Good choice of music and sound effects. I was initially slightly confused about what I was doing but figured it out pretty quick. |
| Apr 11 07:53:35 | 73h 58m | You Are A Bomb | ♥ 1 | Honestly this is an amazing entry! I barely have any feedback to give. Really smart take on this. I think perhaps the tileset needed a bit more work and the music didn't quite feel like it fit, but I really can't say enough good things about this. |
| Apr 11 07:56:26 | 2m 51s | Take a Penny... | ♥ 0 | Unique take on the prompt! I like the idea of a business sim. Not too shabby. Impressive for a solo job. |
| Apr 13 18:25:07 | 58h 28m | Brace for Impact | ♥ 1 | fun! |
| Apr 14 08:32:22 | 14h 07m | Fart Competitions | ♥ 1 | I can't believe you made this. Thank you. It's not very fun but it's hilarious. |
| Apr 14 08:41:25 | 9m 03s | Get Out Me Dungeon! | ♥ 3 | Pretty good game overall. Well polished. I think the "inevitable" took a bit too long to get to, and after a while I just kept adding the same rooms and creatures. Also, I really needed some music and sound sliders. Really polished otherwise. |
| Apr 14 08:48:47 | 7m 22s | Fading Crown | ♥ 2 | Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan of this one. I thought the environment art is awesome! Other than that, the music didn't fit, the enemies and character art felt inconsistent with the environment, and there wasn't a lot of 'feedback' from hitting enemies, getting hit, etc. I appreciate what you made, but felt you didn't put enough attention on the things that were needed for a clean player experience. |
| Apr 14 08:53:30 | 4m 43s | Can't Tax Me | ♥ 1 | I couldn't get to the power-ups part, because most of the enemies clipped into platforms and I was unable to combat them, leading to my inevitable death. I wish it had a volume slider. Overall, good job on the art and platforming mechanics. |
| Apr 14 08:58:43 | 5m 13s | Stalling The Dictator | ♥ 3 | Really funny take on this! I actually kinda liked how the observations were sketched out poorly. It immersed me more in my role. I did want a little bit more detail to the bunker. Honestly, great humor, funny take on the theme, and a pretty simple and easy to understand game. Good job! |
| Apr 14 09:03:06 | 4m 23s | Tin Can | ♥ 0 | Kind of enjoyed this one. Not really sure exactly what I was doing, but I popped down some eggs, slashed some stuff, and made some cows! I was confused by the "distance" counter, which just seemed to be a timer, and the overall gist of it. I think you did a great job on the menus and UI! |
| Apr 14 09:07:15 | 4m 09s | Dodge It | ♥ 0 | A bit laggy, and the web browser wouldn't capture my mouse, making it very hard to see what I was dodging. However, a good proof of concept (and thus a good jam entry) for a game of a similar style. I think the displacement of the cubes and having them stall in the air looks pretty cool! |
| Apr 14 22:17:58 | 13h 10m | Don't protest me! | ♥ 1 | Liked it a lot. A few things I would have wanted, like being able to see the day counter, or not having the taxation and money printers be linked to the equippables, but really cool take on it. |
